Re: "Bump topic" option
I think it'll be useful.
For all the times I've posted something in notice and it got swallowed up and I didn't want to just post 'bump', or for all the times I've done major updates to a profile and hate posting 'bump' so people see it.
I'm assuming you think it's going to be abused, right?

Oh. It won't. Not by anyone who wants to stay a member of the board.
Of course, if bots start using it we'll have to go through the whole rigamarole of creating a 'verified' user group.

NEWS FLASH: the Archergurl who you speaking of is not part of AFW anymore and she's currently working in production for new game titles in Japan. I'm her Canadian friend who she gave her PC due to mines has crashed. She was nice enough to give it to me to help a friend in need. So she got a spared one that she uses for the things I've mention above. BTW, Anegge and Alexandra be sure to check the E-mail adresses carefully. As Archergurl and me aren't the same thing.

'Verified'? How that works?
And how will you draw a line between what is abuse and what is not?
Because I totally see some people... who I would not mention... bumping over every minor change or fight finished.

Re: "Bump topic" option
I could see it being useful only for Roster updates, which are otherwise buried, and notice board stuff.
Discussion threads die a natural death, no need for it there,
Matches don't really need it either.
Don't we have a "follow thread" feature that alerts us when a new post has been made? Makes bumping the thread unneeded?

Maybe Bumping would not be such a bad idea in the roster area... it will bury all the characters of people that never play

Re: "Bump topic" option
You wouldn't bump a profile just to bury old ones or just for the sake of bumping it. THAT would be abuse.
You'd bump a profile for if you did a major update to it; i.e. rewriting major parts of it or adding major additions to it.
