It's a respect thing. Have respect not just for the character you're against, but the player of that character too. Yes, some people here are glad to job to others, sure, but don't go into every single match you do planning to no-sell everything your opponent does to you. Don't be a dick, don't be arrogant, and treat the other person with respect.

Yeah, your character can have that kind of attitude, but if your opponent is throwing everything they've got at your character and it doesn't even scratch them, if they have a ten page match where they're just beating the shit out of each other and your character just gets up at the end and brushes the whole thing off, then you're part of the problem.

Exactly. That is what I was trying to say. Problem was, I was angry and wasn't thinking clearly and started being a whiny bitch about the whole thing and the wrong message got out. Misunderstanding, my fault.

But that was the main point my senseless ranting was trying to make.

Staying on the defensive waiting for a chance to counterattack isn't godmoding, it's a fighting strategy, or even style.

Sorry, but if someone thinks that it's against the rules then there are bad rules going on.

Well, no, nothing wrong with that.

But if your character's first move is 'Naomi falls into a defensive position, waiting for Ellen to attack', then every turn after that you're going 'Naomi grabs Ellen's hand/arm/leg/whatever and counters her attack, then falls back into her defensive position', THEN there's a problem.

"Waiting for a chance" is different of "counters every attack".

It's against the rules because of the invulnerability, not because of the defensive fighting style.

Defensive figting is fine. Counter attacking is fne. Doing only that is not. Use common sense and discretion when making defensive fighter.

I would also not recommend that someone new to wrestling rp's make their fist character one.

And it IS Generally considered a novice move. It's something anyone can do to try and get momentum in their favor and takes almost no creativity to write.

Again, not saying everyone that does it is a newb or it should never be done but it is what it is.

I'm not even necessaily talking about a single match. Everyone powergames sometimes.and everyone has /those/ kinda matches. We're talking about consistent bad behvior.

The counter things gets to be a powerplay when people do it so that the other person can't counter them, and to try to force them to sell their counter to avoid looking like a dufus.

i know I try to be very careful not to powerplay or overstep my character in matches, I know I make sure any attacks use the word attempts or some variation of that just to make sure I'm not power playing.

I'm also of the mindset that if anyone ever thinks I'm power playing please tell me so I can understand what I did and so that I can get better.
