Godmoding and Powerplaying

We've been seeing it a lot lately on the site and we would just like to say that we're keeping an eye on it. If it becomes even more of an issue than it already is, we will have to go directly to those who are egregiously breaking the rules.

They ARE in the rules. I would advise anyone who hasn't done so in a while to stop by our rules and FAQ section and brush up on them. They do get updated on occasion.

For those of you who may not know, aside from things like controlling other people's characters, or being unbeatable, there are other, more subtle ways to power play or god mode which usually includes repeatedly doing things that are, frankly, things that most new players do while they are still learning the ropes. This includes:

Constantly no-selling
Constantly going on the defensive with intent to counter attack
Constantly writing multiple attacks in the post with the assumption that one or more of them will hit without giving the opponent the chance to reverse or counter themselves. (Basically writing a post that's so long, takes up so much "time" and has the kinds of multiple actions that if the other person tries to get out of it halfway through, they look like a jackass trying to interrupt the flow of the match.)

Yes, we know all of the tricks and we'll be keeping an eye out.

I know in my matches I've seen em quite a bit and once I finished up that match, I pretty much just stop RPing that person and/or I would tell them they're 'supering' and then we kind of get into an argument. :/

Although I think I may have been super too without noticing (since sometime the matches delay for quite awhile I forget whats the condition of my character).

BUT, it would be nice if someone pointed out I were doing something like that so I can learn from my mistake, wanted to keep it fun in anyway possible " title="Smile" />

It would be nice to be able to have that conversation. But mostly that conversation happens when one person is all teary eyed because their character isn't winning at that moment, and makes a crack about it, and then the accused gets defensive and badness ensues.

You godmode/powerplay towards me, well, I might let it slip once. Maybe even twice. But a third time, I'm calling you out on your bullshit. :|

THAT being said...if I do it towards someone else and don't realise it, I do hope whoever I'm against will be kind enough to call out my bullshit.

Everything your characters get on this site you take from another player. It's a zero sum thing that way. If you do nothing but take from everyone else and brag about how awesome your character is, you do so at the expense of the site as a whole. It's a matter of the economics of over-ness. If your character crushes everything and has every title and can make diamonds out of coal, eventually you'll realize there's no one left to face, and no opponents mean no more getting over.
