Del Rio's face turn worked because it was done gradually, over time, and felt more realistic and believable, as opposed to Ortons face turns, the first one where he literally turned face despite being a heel the whole night, and this more recent one where he just ended up getting cheered. The problem for Del Rio as a face though was that his entire move set is custom made for a heel. Who wants to see a face going after the arm over and over, ya know?

I actually really liked Harper vs Punk from Raw. I've already seen people on forums blow up and talk crap about how bad the match was, but I'm like, what do you expect? The guy isn't going to deliver some big 5 star Jericho/Punk Mania quality match. It's not about knowing a bunch of moves and spots and such, its about psychology and being good at what works best for you and your character. Harper knows exactly what he's best at and whats best for his character to do and he's doing it well.

Funny thing about Paul Heyman....guy cut the best promo of the night, and it was over the phone, and he was crying the last half of it. Skill.

As for theme music, most of the roster needs to update their entrance themes. Yeah, familiar theme music lets the fans know whose coming out and all, but come on, fans aren't stupid, they can get used to different theme music. Hell, Rhodes and Ziggler have updated their music several times and fans followed along each time with no problems. Cena and Henry have been using the same music since 2005, Big Show since 2006, and HHH since freaking 2001


Jack Swagger's new theme is a personal favorite of mine, same with Fandango's (of course) and Sheamus's, even though he's do for an update himself.

I will admit though, that I LOVE Kofi Kingstons theme music, even after all these years. He should keep his the same, cause that is a fun and awesome tune.

yes, our running joke was that every time Dolph Ziggler entered we'd say "He's got a new theme song." regardless of whether or not it changed.

but yes, there is a difference between an iconic theme and an OLD theme.

Mark Henry's theme needs to go the way of the dinosaurs.

Hell, Undertaker and freaking Kane have changed their themes plenty of times and they've been around forever.

I think Undertakers had like, 30 something odd variations to his theme over the years. The Rock and Stone Cold also updated their themes, even if they kept the same overall sound.

Punk's changed his theme twice, though I felt "This Fire Burns" fit his character, especially the "Best in the World" aspect, far better than Cult of Personality does.


That being said, Seeing Living Colour perform live at Mania was AWESOME. Finally, an old 70's band that isn't Rush or Judas Priest that still sounds great live!


Cena really needs a change though, yeah. It's as boring as his gimmick.

Orton could use a change as well. I mean, we all love "Voices", yes, but he's had that theme since late 2008.

Kinda wish Christian would go back to the original Waterproof Blonde version of his theme song. That one fits him as a heel, and he does his best work as a heel.

Tai's 5 thoughts from Raw

1. So, now the RAW has shown what the Survivor Series match will be, I believe I owe Harrier 5 bucks.
Granted, it wasn't with the Real American's, but I wasn't expecting The Wyatts to be teaming up with anybody period.
That being said, I was still right in my guess that The Shield, Goldust, and Rhodes would be involved.

2. Holy Crap, has Ryback fallen to the wayside or what? Remember last year when we all thought he was gonna win the title off Punk, and win the Royal Rumble, and earlier this year, we thought he would beat Mark Henry and then beat Cena for the title? I think the only win Ryback's had on PPV all damn year was against Chris Jericho at Money in the Bank. Now Heyman's dumped the guy and he's losing to R-Truth. His 15 minutes of fame are up. Expect to see him fired or in development, or a far shittier gimmick, by this time next year.

3. So, does Kane being Director of Operations and being the fill in guy for HHH and Stephanie give him any REAL power? Cause when fucking Brad Maddox is giving you shit, ALL NIGHT, and you don't/can't do anything about it, it really makes you look like a little bitch.


4. So....is Punk vs Heyman officially over now? Cause, I mean, it was fun, I enjoyed it, LOVED the promos....but I think it's run its course now. Though I am a little letdown that we never did get a proper one on one beatdown match, like Brock did when he faced Heyman in a steel cage on Smackdown 10 years ago.......Goddamn that makes me feel old.


5.Hopefully Survivor Series will be the end of Alberto Del Rio's main event push and he can go down to fighting for the IC title. If John Cena is being handed the WHC in order to use his main event credibility to elevate it, there's no reason why Del Rio can't use his main event credibility to do the same thing for the IC title, which has fallen to European Championship level thanks to Curtis Axel. (Cmon, the guy has been in the main event of PPV's, beaten guys like Punk and Cena, and won the WHC and WWE Championship multiple times each, and he CAN work and HAS given great matches...just very very rarely on Raw or Smackdown. Point is, he counts)
