Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Were you even surprised though?
The announcers were basically begging the audience not to hate Cener. "C'min guys, that was really awesome. Cena's cool. Look how tough and awesome he is. Loooooook. Don't hate him. Please?"
I pretty much laughed out loud at the thought that they would even bother having Sandow use submission hold.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
I remember after I saw Man of Steel at the midnight release, me and some friends were at Dennys talking about it, and this old guy who also saw it that night turned around and joined our conversation, saying he didn't enjoy it that much because they made Superman simply too unbeatable, even when he was outnumbered by other super beings, it made it impossible to sympathize and relate to the character, even when he was on the defensive, because it was all for nothing and had zero overall effect on the guy.
That's exactly how I feel regarding John Cena right now. There was NO reason for him to win the damn belt sunday. If he had lost, thanks to that elbow he's still rehabbing, or lost it tonight to Sandow, it would have built up genuine interest, and actually built up some sympathy for Cena, as he would have lost by being overeager and coming back too early.
...BUUUT NOOO...WWE is so freaking terrified of Not having Cena main event all the time, that they had him win the belt and defend it from a MITB attack tonight.
Lets say, hypothetically, any of us still gave a shit about Cena's matches. If so, then after tonight, there is no longer a reason to care about Cena's matches ever again. If sneak attacking his injury and cashing in MITB isn't enough to so much as SLOW HIM DOWN, much less BEAT him, then what the hell WILL keep him down? How's he going to lose the belt? Big Show, Mark Henry, and Great Khali gonna dogpile him!?
Personally, I would have love to see Sandow get a short world title run. Oh Well.
Hope they don't fuck things up with Kane if he's going heel again. 2010-2013 has been some the BEST work Kane has done in his career. He hadn't been that big since 2003.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
5 thoughts from Raw tonight.
1. That was an AWESOME 6 man tag match. 2013 has been like, the best year for 6 man tags. I honestly can't think of a bad one yet. Everybody busted their ass in that match, Goldust was especially impressive given his age, shape, and the speed he performed tonight. Cena, I give full credit too. Guy sold for people, took some lumps, and pulled out some impressive moves he never does. While I've criticized him for other things, I've never understood why people who say Cena just does the same old moves never actually take notice when he DOES do things differently, like tonight.
2. Sooo....El Torito wanted to gore the backstage girl....Anybody ever see that "Mountain Goat to the Cooch" youtube video? Cause I was very reminded of that. OLE!
3. I liked the whole Big Show/Triple H thing tonight, though I'm sure other people rolled their eyes at the lawsuit stuff. I thought it was entertaining, and more or less made "sense". Wrestling angles don't HAVE to make sense in a Real World way, just as long as they make sense in a "Wrestling World" way. Besides, the best part about Big Show as a face is that when he's having fun, it shows, and it allows you to have fun as well.
4. As stupid as this may sound, I'm actually very interested to see this "Corporate Kane". Kane is a very intelligent guy, and it would be nice to see that come out in his character, instead of the same "monster" gimmick. Hell, one could say that "Corporate Kane" is that natural end result of his humanizing from anger management and teaming with Daniel Bryan.
5. Daniel Bryan and CM Punk as a tag team!? Every Ring of Honor "ROHbot" just creamed themselves. I say go all the way and throw Evan Bourne into the team for a full on ROH team. Every ROH guy that WWE has brought onto TV has been successful in their given roles. Bourne was tag champ as part of Air Boom, Cesaro was U.S. Champ and has gotten over with the Real Americans and the Cesaro Swing, Rollins is part of The Shield, the best tag team since Jeri-Show in 2008, and one half of the tag team champions. To top it off, Punk and Bryan are both multi time world champions and among the most popular stars on the show.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
So it loks like Bryan is out of the big picture again. I don`t know if that is a good or a bad thing. It`s definetly a bad thing that Big Show now uses the YES catchphrase. I highly doubt that WWE would have shifted Austin 3:16 to the Hurricane or someone like that. Although the word demotion is maybe too much if you think of a Bryan/Punk team, i just can`t fight the impression that the Storyline with D-Bryan is just a B+ player in the eyes of management comes from the heart of HHH and Vince. I am not even that high on the guy, but a B+ ? Compared to whom, Big Show? Show was definetly an A player in his prime and only overshadowed by the GOATS like Rock, Hogan and Austin, but now? Not so much... " title="no no.." />
I agree on the ROH guys with the exception of Evan Bourne. That guy always strikes me as a jobber, no matter what he does. Without a doubt a really good technical wrestler and highflyer, but the tag team championship with Kingston was his ceiling all along.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
So I had the best idea last night while watching raw
survivor series match: the shield and the wyatts vs bryan, goldust, cody rhodes, the usos, and one other filler face, maybe punk but not actually punk because he'll probably have ANOTHER match against heyman.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Eh, I doubt the Wyatts will be involved with the Authority.
As for a Survivor Series match...Hmm...probably The Shield and Kane vs...I dunno actually. It's difficult to say because so few people have stood up to The Authority.
The Shield and Kane against Goldust, Cody Rhodes, Christian and....Dunno. I'd say Daniel Bryan, but doubt it if he's facing The Wyatts. Probably Kofi Kingston, since he's basically their placeholder "Eh, toss him in there" guy.
As for the YES chants, I think its implied that YES is basically becoming the symbol of rebellion against The Authority...or something like that.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Pre Show: Ryback vs. R-Truth, for the lulz^^
SS match: Shield, Kane and HHH vs. Big Show, Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, Goldust, The Miz
Sounds pretty awful, but that is the best there is...
Survivors: HHH in a sneaky way, gets knocked out^^
SS match 2: Wyatt Family + Real Americans(cause Zeb is a backwater militia guy and Wyatts are, although creepy, americans.) vs. CM Punk, D-Bryan, Usos/Kofi Kingston(Filler guys)
Survivors: CM Punk and D-Bryan to appeal to the smarks.
Aj Lee vs. a Bella twin(AGAIN!)
IC Champ match: Curtis Axel vs. Big E Langston(with Langston going over and winning the belt)
WHC: Cena vs. del Rio(Cena wins, lol)
WWE: Randy Orton vs a random face that is left and sold like it is a great chance like Mark Henry, Orton retains.
