Re: Topic: Wrestling?
I like Japanese wrestling in general. The show aspect mainly(interviews, stables, tournaments that's all great), and of course the great spots, suplexes and throws. But if I want to see a kick and slap fest with some submission holds(or submission with punches), I go and watch MMA. Wrestling is entertainment and should embrace that as a fact and not pose as a bad ass with the *it's still real to me, damnit* mindset show, cause it clearly isn't in the Age of MMA.

As far as female wrestlers go, I like Kana, Lita, and Victoria.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Lita was great.
I liked Victoria before TNA started giving her weird gimmicks.
While I love and am a fan of Puroreso, I really hate the mindset among alot of it's fanbase as "You HAVE to like puroreso, and claim its the most perfecty perfect thing of all perfection, and shun all other wrestling types, or YOU HATE WRESTLING!!!"
I recall after Wrestlemania 25 in 2009, I was telling some friends how I enjoyed the HBK vs Undertaker matchup, and they replied "Psh, Pool Boy and Hagushi can do a match 1000 times better" (Note: Names have been changed, for I forgot them. They were names of VERY low level indy puro wrestlers.)
Just because Puro is great does not mean it is perfect, nor does it mean there hasn't been bad matches, nor does it mean that everything else done is bad.
Personally, I'm a Ring of Honor guy. I've found that ROH takes the best of the styles, moves, and attitude of Puroresu wrestling, while at the same time mixing it with the pace and mindset of classic NWA matches.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Call me crazy, but I actually liked Wrestilicious. The gimmicks are pretty stereotypical for women (the cowgirl, the farm girl, the hippie, juvenile delinquent, Jersey Shore house wife, etc), but they were fun gimmicks all the same, at least how the wrestlers handled them. My only gripe is the announcer. As a friend of mine puts it, he really does sound like a Dr Seuss character, really annoying. I'm at the point where I tend to watch the matches with the sound muted >_>.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
So watched TNA tonight. Pretty good show, just like most of 2012.
1. The X Division 3 way was FANTASTIC. Not a total spot fest, but a well paced, fast moving match that let all 3 guys stand out in a way that will allow fans to remember them next time they are seen. This is the kind of match that lets the division stand out, be different and exciting, and is one of the reasons why the X Division was TNA's main attraction years earlier.
THAT is what we should have gotten last week, instead of that STUPID deliberations thing that TNA keeps pushing. That's just stupid.
Aries vs Bully Ray on PPV: VERY GOOD. The story-line for WHY Aries vs Bully Ray on PPV: VERY BAD. The ONLY reason it's going down like this is because Brooke and Hulk want more focus on themselves. That's all.
The 6 man match was very old school, Sort of like a throwback to old 80's NWA matches. People probably expected a faster match given who was involved, but considering this was following the X Division match, they went about it perfectly.
Daniels and Kaz wore Fanny Packs and Zubaz pants. Throwback to the 90's Fashion, both public (Zubaz) and wrestler fashion (The 90's were a time when many a wrestler would would a fanny pack outside the ring.)
That was hilarious and just part of the awesome comedy and charisma element that Daniels and Kaz bring as a tag team.
Sadly, they did not do "Gungam Style" this week.
Another Aces and 8's match booked for PPV. That's all fine, and We all know that Sting is returning on 1-3-13, and, more importantly, that this whole fued will end at the Lockdown PPV, but THEY HAVE to start unmasking more members. By Lockdown, ONLY the leader should be left masked, if any of them.
Finally, Jeff Hardy has this new thing he does in Promo's, where he doesn't speak, but has a sort of "inner promo/speech"
that, though "said" in his head, is broadcast over the speakers, as if Jeff is telepathic and projecting us his thoughts.
This is VERY VERY STUPID. and by far the DUMBEST part of the entire show. Honestly, if Jeff Hardy actually thinks this is a good idea, then I will lose a bit of respect that I gained for him after his "comeback" from his Victory Road ordeal.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Mickie James has a smile that I think you could get two small nations to fight a war over. Liked that promo. Though I thought it was really ridiculous that they built up Mickie and Tara and Velvet just showed up, hijacked the promo just to say "I'll let you finish but my comeback is the best of ALL TIME OF ALL TIME."
A great heel like Aries makes this Hogan/Ray crap watchable. I must learn more of the way of the heel.
Somehow I have missed every single one of these Hardy monologue promos. Every one.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
So TNA had another PPV last night. It was good. Not a bad match the whole show.
Although the Aces and 8's thing really needs to speed up a little. Start revealing a couple more guys, if not now, then at least in the new year, so that we can finally build up an official stable that can fight at Lockdown.
Jeff Hardy's voice over gimmick is really really really stupid. If this is Jeff Hardy's idea, then whatever respect for him people still have should seriously go down several points.
Finally, while I have no complaints about no titles changing hands, I do have to mention that only 1/2 of a title, the tag gold, is held by an actual homegrown TNA talent, Hernandez. Meanwhile, the rest of TNA's belts, World, X division, TV, Other half of tag, and Knockouts, are all currently being held by former WWE wrestlers. While having one or even two belts held by wwe "Castoffs" (as some have called them) is fine, I think having almost every belt in the company held by said former WWE talent is just too much.
(Note, not counting the Knockouts tag titles, because TNA frankly forgot those exist ever since they made Eric Young champion)
Remember how epic it was when Aries, Daniels/Kaz, and Samoa Joe were all champions? I mean, ok, I get that Chavo had to have the tag belt's in order to come to TNA, because he's more well known as a tag wrestler, and he's the new guy and all....but did Devon really need to win the damn TV title back? Why not keep it with Joe...or give it to Magnus, or Kid Kash, or James Storm or something? Aside from the one "grudge match" PPV deal, most promotion goes to the champions, so have at least one or two TNA guys as champs to balance things out a bit.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Magnus is a great talent who will only get better at wrestling if he leaves TNA. Not because it's too small or not good enough, but for the payment. I don't know if he just loves to act, but when one of your most promising wrestler asks for time of to play in a theatre production instead of wrestling full time you can come to the conclusion that he is not very well paid.
Same goes with the knockouts. If a former champion has to work as a part time waitress, I would have also asked myself if all the hurt and pain is worth it.
And although Kurt says he would wrestle for free, he doesn't. Neither does Hardy, RVD, Anderson or any other "WWE Reject" like Chavo or Gallows, so that's where the big money goes to.
Hardys in general are weirdos^^. But they really amuse me with their shit most of the time("My nuts hurt", "Twitter and Grapes", Matt Hardy falling from the rope in a pose, Jeff high as a kite on a PPV), so they get a pass for this from me.
A&8, I don't know anymore. I guess that Devon was the biggest name of the crew anyway, the president will be Bishop or maybe Jeff Jarrett and that's it. Gallows was midcard in the WWE, he isn't a big name. Maybe Masters could be brought in, always was a fan of the masterpiece. TV belt on him again is indeed totally pointless.
Kid Kash is no TNA guy in my eyes, more of an indy addition. I would also say that RVD is more of an ECW guy than a WWE guy. TNA guys are for me Crimson, Gunner, Styles, Kazarian, Samoa Joe, Storm and Roode.
