Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Jerry Lawler should have just retired in time or stayed in his own promotion, only wrestling like Hogan or in Tag Matches where he is mostly standing in the corner. Maybe he would not have suffered the heart attack if he would have stayed with comentary instead of wrestling in his own promotion and on RAW at the age of 62 in the same week. But still, of course best of luck to him for a good recovery.
Tearing arteries and receiving concussions like Benoit makes me welcome the absence of hardcore wrestling even more than watching CZW on Botchamania.

Best of wishes to Jerry Lawler
Very Glad to hear that he is recovering without much issue so far, especially that there is no brain damage.
CZW is fucking stupid.
Hardcore wrestling may have its place when you know what your doing, but these random no names smashing fucking light tubes on each other and using weed wackers and fire and shit. For what? For their sell out crowd of 100 people can cheer them, they can make 50 bucks, and then go on to do it again a month later after paying 200 bucks at the hospital to get glass removed from their back?
Fuck that one guy who blames Mick Foley for everything. Nobody fucking forced that moron to go to CZW and be an idiot.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
That thing with Foley was almost certainly a work which got out of hand. And Moxley/Ambrose was also in DGUSA, a much more rational promotion before getting called to WWE where he impressed a hell of a lot of people in developmental.
And it's good to hear Lawler's fine after this. Really scary for a while.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
So,
after I had the *fun* to see a RAW without Cena, I seriously doubt Vince McMahon would survive a year without Cena. The estimated heir to the throne botched(or was sandbagged, not sure about that) with Trainbert, Punk is lost in his passive-aggresive heel attitude and nobody gives a shit about AdR vs. Kofi in a former big time spot. Maybe push Kofi as replacement or at least credible face help for Cena for some damage control? Over, fans like him, good in the ring. I really think it is Alberto del Rio that nobody wants to see, not Kofi who has enjoyed great popularity and is geared toward the kids WWE likes to get as audience.
Where was repacked Swagger?
Antonio Cesaro was nothing but impressive, kind of grew from being rather bland to someone I really enjoy at least in the ring. A flying european uppercut and the Neutralizer vs Brodus Clay, how wicked is that! Maybe the next big heel? At least a very good upper midcarder.
Smackdown was really good, very enjoyable for me. It's usually the better show cause all the good wrestlers WWE does not push end in Smackdown. Although I hope Orton or Cesaro go up the card (again), I can't stand to watch anymore how poor Ziggler is *pushed*...^^

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
RAW(10/15/12) in a few sentences:
*Punk vs. McMahon. Kind of...pointless?
*Ziggler destroyed again, this time loosing but not taking the pin in a handicap match. By Ryback, who destroys midcarders in handicap matches and tries to get over with a one liner interview. Sigh. Give me Warrior, Goldberg or Batista everyday over this guy.
*Strong Show vs D-Bryan Match. Team Hell No funny as always. At this point, I would really prefer Show over Sheamus as WHC.
*Antonio Cesaro. Nice promo, even gets USA chants while neither Cesaro or Gabriel are US citizens. Get "You can't wrestle" chants. Really? Still a nice match.
*Jobbing of Brodus Clay goes on. Relegated to midcard?
*Striker vs. Kane. Striker Jobber entrance. Striker the new commentator that gets jobbed out once in a while? Kane halfway over by his own.
*Miz TV. Kofi over, just a step below a really big pop. People like to see him, still is only an upper midcard guy who challenges for Belt Nr. 3 again instead of getting a shot at the WHC at least. Makes me wonder every time.
*Barrett vs. Sheamus. Sheamus mediocre pop, Barrett crickets. End is quite embarrasing for the WWE, Sheamus never looses clean, weakest booking is when his opponent is disqualified. Really exciting... " title="Question" />
*Eve vs. Layla. At least they try, near silence throughout the match. "Take your clothes off" chants^^
*Rhodes Scholars vs. Epico/Primo. Hm. Don't know what to say about that.
*Punk vs. Ryback at HiaC. Sigh again.
Average RAW. My best matches and most interest were as usual occupied by the midcard guys.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Not entirely sure who is the botcher here.
The Miz was awful in the ring, but he has gotten better in the last time. Kofi is generally good, but tends to botch in the bigger matches. Probably Kofi is too close to Miz, and Miz turns around the wrong way, turns too soon or has his hands to far down to block the kick.

Punk vs Vince...Meh. One of those "Eh, why not" matches. Personally, I thought it was worth it when Vince slid his way over the announcer table. That cracked me up.
Ryback, despite being as bland as toast, still gets crowd reactions. The jobbers need to stop though. Give him a real test, a real match. That at least would give him more then 0 credibility when facing Punk. If they stopped jobbing out Tensai and let him show what he can do and have him and Ryback go all out, that would be fun. Also, apparently you can get a WWE Title match by staring at the champion. Lucky.
Nice to see another former Ring of Honor wrestler achieve success in Antonio Cesaro. Those European Uppercuts of his are FAR better then Randy Ortons.
So first Tensai gets to come in strong and be dropped horribly, now Brodus Clay? It seems they did it in order to push Ryback more as the only unstoppable force around. Shame really, Tensai could give so much more if the rug wasn't pulled under him after only a month.
"Halfway over"? Kane's been over for about 10 years now. The guy always gets a reaction whatever he does, and his comedy with D-Bry is some of the best stuff he's done since his early 2000's run.
Doubt Kofi will ever be world champ. Great for multi man title matches like the Chamber and stuff, but he's basically a "Mechanic" He can have a great match with anyone, but won't rise above IC or US title. Plus, its very easy to forget about the guy when he's not there. Props to Miz for taking that kick to the face though. A botch on both men's part. Miz for being to slow, and Kofi for going a bit too fast.
Barrett vs Sheamus was fun. Nice back and forth brawl. Barretts music sucks, but could honestly see the guy getting one WWE or World Title run at some point. Whole point of the ending was for Sheamus to make Big Show back down, to show that he was still ready to fight despite the Kick being "neutralized" by Show.
Also, WHY would the world champ lose clean to a heel? Sheamus lost all the time as a heel, and lost plenty as a face before getting the world title. Your job is to keep your champion strong, having a random heel midcarder beat him clean right before a big title match WOULD NOT be a good thing.
Women wrestled. AFW women wrestle better.
Rhodes Scholars win a fun little tag match. Stop taking everything so seriously.
Punk vs Ryback. Seems funny that Cena spends week after week demanding another title match, and when he has his shot, he gives it up to a guy that he says doesn't care about the title. Strange. Wish they had a couch there though, would gladly see Ryback throw couches out of the ring again.
Hell In a Cell shaping up to be an average PPV at best, very glad I ordered TNA's Bound for Glory instead, got my money's worth and more.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
I thought "Halfway over" as a compliment. Kane is great, and most of the guys come in to near silence, even main eventers like AdR. Alhough I have the impression that Kane does not get a *big* reaction, just a *good* reaction.
Sheamus should not have lost clean. But not even a loss by distraction? So far, Show is the best opponent for Sheamus except Daniel Bryan after the borefest that was Sheamus vs. AdR.
I like the revitalization of the Tag Teams so far. But why do the actual tag teams(Usos, PTP, Epico/Primo) not pick up the belts? I like Damien Sandow, and for a triple crown he needs to be Tag Team Champ at some point, but Rhodes? Seems lke he is going down the Morrison, Benjamin and Kofi road.
Bound for Glory seems nice from the reports I have read. Would never have thought that Devon of all people could be in Aces and Eights! Still bad ratings for TNA, although it has really raised the quality bar! " title="zomg" />

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Once again, Smackdown was better than Raw, even the main event. Slightly in the case of the main event, but still better.
*I've grown to be a real fan of Antonio Cesaro right now. That guy is a beast in the ring, can loose clean and still look good, and is obviously on the way to at least a tryout for the Mainevent.
*Rhodes Scholar and Team Hell no also entertained me, sadly it's always Bryan that takes the loss instead of Kane. From all I have heard, Kane is a guy that loves to help out guys with their careers, so I don't get it why he nearly always wins in the team when they are in single action and Bryan nearly always looses? But maybe this is leading to a bigger Angle, so I don't want to complain to much.
*Hard to confess it, but Miz is starting to grow on me. He looks much more than a wrestler now and his in ring performance looks more convincing.
My prediction for HiaC:
Pre Event: Cena boring most people over 14 to sleep(at least they try with him lately...)
Cesaro(C) vs. Gabriel. Upset winner so that Cesaro gets a tryout in main events and Gabriel a chance in the midcard: Gabriel
Randy Orton vs. Alberto del Rio. Winner: Orton. If his movie is already over, if not del Rio.
Hell no(C) vs. Rhodes Scholars. Winner: Rhodes Scholar. Cody Rhodes does need a tag team reign as much as sixth toe, but Sandow could use it.
Kofi Kingston(C) vs. Miz. Winner: Kofi
Eve(C) vs, Kaitlyn vs. Layla. Winner: Eve
CM Punk vs. Ryback. Winner: CM Punk. Ryback was hotshot into this and probably can't carry the belt right now. But I would not rule it out that Vince still gives it a try, so I ain't really sure about this.
