First Day in Friction

As Mayu landed on the mat she quickly turned to where Nikolette was, showing her smiling face. From the grin on her opponent's face, it seemed that she didn't take too much damage from that kick. That's fine for Mayu since this was only a spar.

"Tee-hee," she would let out playfully.

The short haired girl would immediately go after the mechanic again afterwards as she ran towards her with full speed. As their distances were closing down, Mayu would do a somersault to get behind her opponent with some sort of an acrobatic move. Once she landed, Mayu would quickly turning around so she could try to scissor Nikolette's legs to tackle her down.

Nikolette cocked an eyebrow upward as she stood up, rubbing her shoulder. "Did ya actually say tee-hee?" She really couldn't believe it. But she didn't have time to consider it as Mayu came at her again, this time with a fancy cartwheel dodge. Nikolette's eyes focused and she made a quick calculation in her head as she lashed her boot backwards without turning her body, hoping to kick Mayu in the thigh or stomach as she came to her landing position. Be where she's going to be, not where she is. That was Nikolette's strategy.

As she flipped above Nikolette, Mayu thought she would be able to surprise the mechanic with her movement. However, her opponent was apparently proved to be smarter and the short haired girl eyes would widened before she felt Nikolette's boot on her chest. Her opponent kick knocked off some air from her body, sending her flying away towards the edge of the ring.

"Gyaahh!" Mayu cried as her slender body flew a good few meters before she would landed near the ropes, almost falling down outside the ring. "Ouchie~ that hurts..."

She would try to slowly get up into a sitting position, while crossing her hands in front of her chest. Mayu closed one eye as she felt a sting on her chest from the result of the mechanic's kick, but she would still show a smile on her face.

"Hehe... that was bad..." she'd say, reflecting on her mistake.

Nikolette let out a sigh as she watched Mayu tumble backwards. She slowly stood up and smiled at the girl. "It wasn't that bad really." She exclaimed and held out her hand for Mayu to stand up. "I just made a lil calculation in my head. pretty easy ta figure out where you'd end up, really." Nikolette blushed and scratched her head at the thought. Even though she wore the mantle of a country bumpkin kind of well, sometimes she couldn't help but show off her analytical skills. Her brain didn't shut off, after all.

"I'd really like at fight ya in a regular match, ya know. I can tell yer really holdin back an that's kinda excitin. Ya got a pretty smile but I wonder..." Nikolette said thoughtfully. Her eyes then widened. "Oh wait! I mean! Not pretty but... Well.. errr. I mean, That's not what I mean either! You're real cute an all but!" Nikolette sighed and her shoulders drooped. "Ya'd think with this ol thing, I could say what I mean better." She said and poked her head.

Mayu's dark eyes blinked a few times as she heard Nikolette's words. It seemed her opponent was quite the brain type as well on top of her physical strength. It's kind of rare to see someone who's smart and strong like that, at least for Mayu, and she thought of Nikolette as an interesting opponent. As the mechanic extended her hand, Mayu's cheerful expression would return as she accepted Nikolette's hand and get up on her feet.

"Thanks!" she'd say before backing away from the girl to get some distance.

The short haired girl would hear her opponent's compliment afterwards and she blushed lightly. Nikolette seemed to be a nice girl after all, and Mayu thought it's kind of cute that the mechanic was having a bit of problem in saying what's on her mind.

"Same here, Nikol-san!" Mayu would say in high spirit. "Hehe~ it's alright! Happens to everyone!"

Mayu would slowly get into her stance once again before she took a deep breath. She smiled after exhaling, although her gaze became slightly sharper as she's starting to get a bit more excited. She was thinking of getting a bit more serious now, wanting to measure how she would compare to a fellow female wrestler since she didn't get much of a chance in her previous place.

Nikolette hoped there was no confusion between her and Mayu. She didn't want to overstep her bounds with the girl, though she had meant what she said. She pushed the thoughts away and nodded as Mayu got back in her stance. She noticed Mayu's eyes and took a step back just to gauge Mayu a bit better.

Her hands went up as though she were ready for a grapple but she didn't initiate a test of strength. Instead she slapped her hands downward like wings and charged forward, lowering her shoulder to try and slam it into Mayu's chest and force her backwards towards the ropes.

Mayu watched as Nikolette ran towards her, spreading her strong arm like a pair of wings as she did. She had two options in her mind as it was. She could try to knock her away with a kick, or waiting until the mechanic got close so she could grapple her and throw her to the mat. The later sounds a little risky, however, since Nikolette was a strong girl, and she might ended up getting pushed away instead.

As she made up her mind, Mayu's face brightened up a bit as a friendly grin appeared on her innocent looking face. The short haired girl would wait until her opponent get a little closer to her, and then she would steadied herself before suddenly jumping backwards in an attempt for a backflip kick. Mayu would try to swung her right foot at Nikolette's chin as she flipped backwards, but she wasn't going to hit the girl with full force since it's just a spar.

"Hoo!~" the short haired girl would let out cheerfully as she swung her foot midair.

She hoped that the kick would only grasp the mechanic's chin lightly at best, and it wouldn't even be a problem if her foot only swung harmlessly in front of the girl's face.

As Nikolette charged like a Bull, she was expecting a few things. She had analyzed what the potential counters to her attack might be and she was feeling pretty prepared. But when Mayu bean to bend backwards, her calculating mind couldn't really understand what reason there was for it. Mayu's slender body bent gracefully and Nikolette's eyes slide down the black haired girl's form.

That was when the sharp kick jabbed upward at her. Her eyes widened and she tried to avoid the kick by bending backwards herself. Unfortunately, while Nikolette was strong and smart, one thing she wasn't was very flexible. Her strength was sturdiness and when she bent back to avoid the kick, she flopped backwards and thudded against the mat, skidding forward about a foot from the momentum of her charge.

"Oshiwwah!" Exclaimed the caterwauling girl as she pulled her legs out from under them and threw them up into the air in a tumbling tangle of limbs that slid towards the graceful Mayu.

Mayu felt her kick hit the air before she heard a thud followed by Nikolette's scream from below. She wasn't really sure what was happened as she was in the middle of her midair flip, but she'd soon find out. When she was about to land on the mat, her eyes widened as she noticed her opponent was now sliding towards her. It wasn't a pretty situation. Mayu thought that she'd collide with the mechanic as soon as she landed and there wasn't much she could do about it.

"Waaah?" she'd let out a surprised yelp before she landed on her feet, with Nikolette's sliding body just about half a meter away from her.

Mayu would try her best to avoid the collision by throwing herself to her left side at the last second. If she was too late, however, the mechanic's body might hit her first and send her slender body flying towards the ropes from the impact of the collision.

Mayu dove out of the way and Nikolette skidded to a halt nearby. She flopped onto her back and lay on the mat, panting, looking up at the gym lights. SHe then turned to Mayu and smiled. "Ok, so I ain't the most graceful ballerina on stage." She said and began to laugh. "I ain't auditionin fer Swan Lake, I came here ta beat up gals." Nikolette furrowd her brow. "Well, I came here ta fix cars and earn money fer a shop of my own, but... they asked me ta beat up girls and..." Nikolette blushed. She should shut up now.

"We should have a match sometime though, this has been pretty fun.."
