Re: Annoyances Thread
See, I only pay vague, occasional attention to wrestling these days, so I have no idea who Del Rio is, and had no clue he was fighting Santino, and had no clue that Santino was the US Champion. Am I going to pretend like I do? Hell no.
That's the kind of thing I'm talking about. Go back and read my first post in this discussion. If someone wants to try and take back in a conversation about this or that when they don't know much about it, that's fine. Just don't act like you're some big expert on it when you're really not. THAT'S the kind of thing that I'm talking about.

Re: Annoyances Thread
Warning: This is a rant. This will be long. This is related to pro wrestling. Feel free to not read.
Annoyance: The IWC
FUCK the IWC. They think that because they get backstage reports, and get spoilers, that means they know more or are better then everyone else. The elitist assholes honestly think they know more about wrestling then even wrestlers in the damn company.
Harrier does have a point about being able to learn something by watching it, though watching itself isn't enough. I've watched pro wrestling since I was 4 years old, I've always been a fan, and I learned through watching, through experiencing it live, and through having scripted matches with my friends in the backyard growing up...and even today, once in a while. I watched it, read wrestlers biographies about their time in it, practiced it, have met and talked with several independent wrestlers about it, nearly joined it myself at one point, and most of all ENJOYED IT.
Would I say I'm an expert? No. Because I'm not in it. I don't know how say, the pay grade works, or the backstage politics, or who holds who down or anything like that. or merchandise or any of the corporate side. But I know how the technical side works. I know selling, when its being done right, ignored, or oversold, I know when a wrestler has a crowd in the palm of their hand and is reacting to them, and when they are ignoring them and just going through the motions. I know, through experience with my former bands, and through talking with indy wrestlers, what its like to have to constantly tour to keep your name out and keep interest in you and how hard it is to get yourself booked if nobody knows you, and what its like to spend such long times away from home and family while on tour. I know, partly from experience and partly from reading and partly from conversation, how planning a match works and how difficult it is to perform without hurting yourself or your opponent. I know a good match when it happens. Expert? No. But at the very least I know more then some shmuck at his computer crapping on a match that hasn't happened, based on spoilers he read.
At one point, I even used to know how to enjoy wrestling.
The IWC? They don't enjoy wrestling. They don't. All they do is trash all of it and insist that The Attitude Era was better.
They trash the storylines and matches before they even happen. They act so smug...like knowing what matches happen on Smackdown tapings makes them so much better then the rest of us.
People are talking shit about Brock Lesnar vs Triple H and the match hasn't even happened yet. People are talking about how WWE is just copying itself, because they faced off in a triple threat 10 years ago on some show in Australia that, while getting a VHS/DVD/Youtube release, was not on a main PPV seen by all. Plus, it was TEN. YEARS. AGO. Most current WWE fans haven't even been watching that long. Plus there was literally no story to that match anyway, this match is, for all intents and purposes, new.
IWC People were talking about how lame it was that HBK and Undertaker were facing off at Wrestlemania 25 in 2009, because it was a rehash, when their last singles match was in 1998! Different time, different skill, different match. The rest of us enjoyed the best match of the year.
People were talking crap about the Punk vs Jericho fued before Wrestlemania even happened, which Punk even mentioned. I swear, they don't even bother waiting to see how an idea will play out before they crap over it. The rest of us enjoyed the best wrestling match in a long time.
The day WWE announces a match, or spoilers come out about a planned match, there is the IWC sharks, waiting to tear it all to pieces before it even starts, followed by a big speech about how great the 3 year long Attitude Era was. I'm convinced that these people either have gotten so consumed with the spoilers and the backstage info, and the attitude that they have honestly forgotten how to enjoy wrestling, or they simply don't want to enjoy it and want to tear it all down.
The IWC likes to make fun of "Marks", People that, at worst, believe its real, and at best, just watch it and don't go online to the IWC. Similar to how the Hardcore video Gaming community likes to trash on "Casual Gamers". You know what though? At least those casual gamers, and the Marks, ENJOY what they watch.
Even when WWE GIVES these people what they want, like Miz being pushed, Daniel Bryan/Punk as champions and facing against each other, Christian as champion, so on and so forth, the minute they get what they want, they turn around and the idea. Another example was Rock vs Cena. For a year, The IWC wanted nothing but Cena to be crushed...then he lost. They got what they want...and since all they know how to do is bitch, they turned on the Rock and every comment on the dirt boards was about how Cena should have won.
Ugh.....
Fuck it.
Honestly, Im done with these sites and the "dirt sheets" and spoilers and IWC. I'm going to just watch wrestling. I'm gonna be a "Mark" again. Let the IWC talk all they want about how they loved 1997-2000 and how that makes them better then everyone else. Whatever.
I want watching wrestling to be fun for me again.
At least the "Marks" are able to enjoy it and have fun watching.

[quote="Alexandra":2z2nqzg5]Annoyance: When people talk about subjects they know NOTHING about.
I'll say it again: WHEN PEOPLE TALK ABOUT SUBJECTS THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT, ACTING LIKE THEY'RE EXPERTS ON THE TOPIC.
Just because you skimmed a Wikipedia page about something or overheard some friends discussing it or saw something about it on TV, that does NOT mean you know shit about a topic. Argh, it drives me up the wall when people act like they're big experts on this or that, when in reality they know jack shit about it.

Like the pretender types and similar to Weeaboo's?

Re: Annoyances Thread
Hm, John Cena teams with Scooby Doo. Fits in with the recent Muppet Raw(although that wasn't bad with Swagger vs Kermit the Frog and Sheamus Beaker lookalike^^)
Just for the thrill of it and to argue with CenaFan1991, Cena rises above Monsters then and AA's a werewolf? Or is he one of the opponents as you can't see him? " title="Laughing" />
