Antonina vs Chigusa

Antonina waited while her opponent held the ropes, letting her recover. Then, right when she let it finally go, she reassumed her stance. Seeing that Chigusa was readying herself for an attack, Antonina decided to adopt a defensive grappling position. When Chigusa started running, it initially appeared that her stance choice had been wise; she only had to wait for the idol to come close enough, and then she'd be able to grab her and apply a throw on her while she was still running.

However, Antonina hadn't accounted for the possibility of a dropkick, and this was exactly Chigusa's attack. "Gh!" Taken aback, Antonina was nailed right on her chest by Chigusa's boots and fell backwards, landing on her back.

Chigusa hit Antonina hard with that dropkick, kicking right through the Russian's defence and nailing her straight on the chest. It was the first time she had been on the offensive this entire match. She planned to make the most of it.

"Heh, it always works," Chigusa thought. Indeed, with her combination of speed and lightness, she could easily perform aerial attacks like that. She was strong enough to make those attacks count as well, making her dropkick one of the best moves she had in her arsenal. Chigusa landed and rolled, quickly getting back onto her feet. She ran over to grab Antonina by the arm and pull her up, but then whip her out into the ropes!

Antonina clutched her chest Chigusa had hit her, huffing lowly. “Should have seen that coming…” But she could not let this mistake get to her. She just needed to get her breath back, and then she would be back on her feet in a second. Before she could do even that, though, she was pulled upwards by her arm. “What? Sheâ€s already up?” She was pretty sure Chigusa had fallen down as well after the kick; then, how come? This implied that Chigusa was very nimble, though Antonina had seen only one dropkick so far. She had hoped that Chigusa was not a high-flyer, but this possibility seemed more likely by the second.

Antonina was dragged up and irish whipped. She bounced on the ropes and ran back towards Chigusa. She tried to firm her feet and brake herself before she reached Chigusa, but the short length of the run made it difficult for her to stop herself.

As Antonina ran back at Chigusa, Chigusa ran forward at her. She had to time the attack right, or else it would either miss or she would get hurt. Chigusa saw Antonina trying to brake, but it was too late. She was already there, and Antonina had just enough momentum left for Chigusa to exploit.

Chigusa grabbed one of Antonina's arms, and then spun around quickly. "And over you go!" Chigusa said, using Antonina's own momentum to propel her over her shoulder and onto her back.

Antonina saw Chigusa running towards her, and before she could actually stop, she was grabbed again. Then, in a flash, her feet left the mat and her body was flipped in the air, with her own momentum adding to the fluidity of Chigusaâ€s throw. Her back hit the mat painfully; the crowd cheered Chigusa, seeing that she was gaining the upper hand. Trying to ignore the pain, Antonina tried to get up quickly; if Chigusa was as speedy as she now suspected, then she couldnâ€t expose any vulnerabilities to her; if she did so, she was sure that she would be attacked. Then again, it was possible that Chigusa could act quicker than Antonina could get up.

Chigusa ran towards the ropes and bounced off them, changing the direction of her charge quickly to mount another attack on Antonina. This was Chigusa's preferred way of fighting; using her speed and small size to her advantage! If she could keep on landing hits at the rate she was going at, she would beat Antonina easily.

Antonina was close to getting up now. Chigusa had to give the girl credit; she was strong and resilient enough to take those big hits and still get up quickly. But Chigusa was going to make sure Antonina stayed down this time. She would grab the back of Antonina's head and leap into the air, driving her face-first into the mat with a running Bulldog!

Chigusa was even nimbler than Antonina had thought. The Russian getting to her feet, had only a half second to worry about the fact that Chigusa was nowhere in her field of vision. Before she could turn, her head was grabbed and she went down again. The slam rattled her head; this time, she didnâ€t even know what move Chigusa had used, so fast had she taken an action. The bulldog had been strong, and this time Antonina didnâ€t try to get up. This was partly due to the pain; she also wanted to avoid getting hit while she got up. Lying down, she tried to put Chigusa in her sights; maybe, if she paid attention to her movements, she would be able to counter her fast-paced attacks.

After knocking Antonina to the ground hard with that bulldog, Chigusa prepared to go in for a pin. Perhaps Antonina had taken enough damage and was stunned enough for Chigusa to pin her. So Chigusa knelt down beside Antonina, pushing her and rolling her over onto her back. Then Chigusa would hook one of Antonina's legs, and pin the Russian down.

Although Chigusa had gotten Antonina pretty good with her rush earlier, when the idol knelt beside her, she was already feeling kind of okay. More importantly, she was ready to continue fighting, and that was what she going to do. Before Chigusa could turn her, she rolled to her back herself and sprang up. She sent a punch at Chigusaâ€s chest to stun her, while her free hand tried to grab her shoulder, so that she could not escape and get up again.

Chigusa knew she fell into a trap when Antonina suddenly moved. "Shi-" Chigusa couldn't even finish her thought before Antonina's fist slammed into her chest, knocking the wind out of her and sending her backwards. She reeled, close to falling onto her back, but Antonina grabbed her shoulder, keeping her upright.

Chigusa was pretty well stunned by that attack. She was completely open to Antonina's attacks, at least for a second as she got her air back.
