Re: Cyber Saturday - River Styx (Hardcore Champion) vs. Astrid Arvidsson
Attack, attack, attack.
Styx tapped into raw adrenaline as she threw her all into this, her final attempt at survival, coming at Astrid with every bit of energy she could muster in her failing form. The crowd was on their feet, roaring, their cries mixing into this unintelligible, inhuman amalgam of guttural noises. They were the crowd in Roman coliseum, cheering as the lion was about to be slain, and they could all tell that the climax was coming. This was going to be the end of River Styx, hardcore champion.
No, fuck that, she wasn’t having it. So she swung and swung and swung, lashing out like the wild animal she was rapidly turning into, the cornered rat with a cat bearing down. No blow was too small, no damage was too minimal. As long as she hurt Astrid, it was worth it, and to be fair, it had some small measure of success.
A blow here, a scratch there, chopping at her flesh like a butcher with his meat, ripping and tearing. She was breathless now, even as her vision began to fade, threatening to cut out at any second. Just a few seconds more, not even ten ,and she could end this bitch, and then, and then…
Styx reeled back, drew her fist tight, and swung out with a decapitating blow, one that was ruined when her opponent moved and grabbed her head. She tried to pull away, but didn’t have the strength to make a clean break before her head was brought forward and their skulls slammed together, filling the sharp crack of bone meeting bone.
It was a heavy impact, blunt and direct, and Stxy was left stunned by it in an instant. Her hands dropped to her side, she took one step back then another, and stood on her wobbling feet, as if her brain had already shut down but the rest of her body hadn’t quite gotten the notice.

Re: Cyber Saturday - River Styx (Hardcore Champion) vs. Astrid Arvidsson
A bright flash before my eyes and one second of complete blindness that seemed to last forever. Astrid remembered very well how she and Mari exchanged such blows in the first match. Then none of them was ready to give in to each other. Of course, then, too, it was not without blood, but that match cannot be compared with what was happening now. Astrid's body was covered in blood, not only her own, but also the blood of her rival. She knew this headbutt would not be good for her health, but she didn't expect it to take so much strength from her. It was only by a miracle that she remained standing still. The blonde blinked several times to clear her vision.
The champion at that moment was already taking the second step back. Thanks to the momentum that the Golden Dragon put into this blow, River took a lot more damage. It was noticeable in her empty gaze and lowered hands. Both women were exhausted, despite the fact that this match wasn't long. No, this match was not too long, but it was more than fully compensated by the level of brutality.
When the head of the Norwegian woman more or less returned to normal, she again felt pain all over her body in all its glory, but most of all now she was worried about her left hand. The barbed wire on the champion's fist did its job perfectly, only by a miracle the sharp thorns did not touch the veins. But this did not negate the fact that now the blood was flowing non-stop down the blonde's hand, falling on the mat, this was not a pleasant sight. Just one more rush. She need to finish this match before she is knocked down because of blood loss. Astrid took a hard step forward, shaking her head to push her already not gold, but scarlet hair from her face.
She had the opportunity to end this match with one blow. But this blow must be so strong that River would have regretted being born. And she had such a blow in reserve. For the umpteenth time, she remembered her debut. Until this moment, only Mari has earned the right to see this blow. And now River has earned that right too. This should have been the last thing she would see before she died, at least Astrid hoped so. The woman's right fist clenched, and her biceps swelled, it seemed that her arm had increased in size.
"Give me your fire! One more time, the rest I'll do myself," mentally she turned to the beast inside her.
For a moment, the play of light made Astrid's eyes appear red rather than lavender. And if there was a place for special effects, then flames would dance around her. It was the fire that she always kept in her heart. A fire that reflected the essence of the descendant of the great Vikings. It was the strength of the woman who was ready to go even to death in order to prove that she was the strongest. She is the Golden Dragon. And she intended to destroy the woman standing in front of her. She pulled her right hand back, taking the last step forward. The air around her became heavier and concentrated in one place, as if all the energy that was everywhere moved into her fist.
"PLUS ULTRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Astrid roared, not sparing her voice.
Maybe for the others it was a simple right cross, but in this punch she put her whole soul, all her nature. She didn’t come up this path to retreat now. No. Only forward, no matter what. Maximum speed. Maximum strength. She couldn't offer more. A punch filled with fire and determination, aimed right to River's face!

Re: Cyber Saturday - River Styx (Hardcore Champion) vs. Astrid Arvidsson
Chaos. That was all Styx could recall at the moment, as she laid on her side, drifting in and out of consciousness with annoying regularity. She tried to open her eyes, but that just caused more blood to seep in, and she had to shut them just as fast to keep them protected. It didn’t matter, really, because she could hear well enough around her to piece certain facts together, getting a better picture of what had just gone down, here.
The sound of footsteps was all around them, here and there, racing around. Someone was panicking, screaming, calling out names. The crowd was erupting, but they were cheering or booing or doing any of their usual stupid shit. They sounded more confused than anything. Some concerned mumbles. Someone was crying. There was this electric whine under it all, too, this humming, along with the occasional burst of sparks. Short circuiting.
Styx tried to move, but her body only twitched, ignoring her commands at first. She made a second attempt at it, more determined this time, but a hand pressed at her shoulder and kept her down, made her lay still, and a comforting voice came along with it. Wasn’t a bare hand, either, latex on it. A glove. Surgical.
And there were the smells, too. Blood, of course. A lot of people didn’t know that blood had scent to it. It was faint, you could only smell it when it was in great enough qualities, and the air was rank with it, here. A thick, metallic, heady scent that filled the air and made her nose itch. But dominating that, over it all was this burning smell, one that Styx didn’t recognize at first, but clued in to soon enough.
The smell of burning flesh.
Memories flooded back now, fragments of what came before. She had been fighting with Astrid - losing much as she hated to think it. All of the sudden, out of nowhere, the bitch had slammed her with this hell of a haymaker, screaming crazy shit all the way. It had taken them both back, back to the barbwire, and over and then...a flash. A blinding flash and a deafening explosion. Everything went dark after that, and the lights had only recently come back on.
River Styx - what was left of River Styx - laid in a pool of growing blood, as EMTs rushed around her and Astrid, tending to them both. They took care to steer clear of the barbwire, and for good reason, with it occasionally having intermittent explosions and some parts of it still on fire. If Styx had to guess, something had gone wrong - the ring was set to explode, sure, but it wasn’t supposed to happen like that. Something was wrong.
A fleeting thought, one of many that faded as her consciousness drifted again. Key among them, though, was a nagging question, one that dominated her thoughts more and more as the darkness came over her again.
Why couldn’t she feel her right eye?

Re: Cyber Saturday - River Styx (Hardcore Champion) vs. Astrid Arvidsson
Usually she needed some conditions in order to force herself to use this punch. This usually only happened at the end of the most grueling matches, when Astrid felt a special desire to win. The passion for fighting has often allowed her to go beyond her capabilities and find the strength for the final blow, which was created only to end everything. But today was a different case.
Today the Norwegian woman more than understood that this was not about passion. It's about survival. It was not an overly long match, not at all. But the level of cruelty was so great that even now the long-haired blonde had no strength left. These forces left her along with the blood pouring from the wounds. And the Golden Dragon instinctively knew that she had to finish off River. Not later. Now. Otherwise... she didn't want to think about it.
The Golden Dragon put everything in her fist. White spots appeared and disappeared in front of her eyes. As strong as it was, the body had limits. And the champion made sure Astrid lost all of her reserves of powers. River had no mercy. The blonde understood that her rival, if she was not ready to kill her, was ready to do everything so that Astrid regretted that she had entered this match. And the Norwegian woman was ready to respond in kind to her rival. Her fist slammed right into the bald woman's head. Astrid didn't pay attention where her fist had hit, perhaps it was an eyebrow or even an eye.
Everything that happened next could not be called anything other than madness. If Astrid had a little more strength, she would be able to stop herself. But due to the fact that she already began to fade her mind, the body did not obey her well. The momentum of her punch pulled her forward along with River, she didn't take into account that they were too close to the barbed wire. A distant corner of the Golden Dragon's mind told her to prepare for another explosion. She can handle it. She will take it. Just one blast and she would lift the belt over her head, she was ready to put her life on it.
BAM. BAM! BAM!! BAM!!! Blood and darkness. Only later she will find out what happened. They'll call it a technical problem. The bodies of the women hit the barbed wire with too much pressure. Explosive sensors was malfunctioned after that. It was not a solo explosion. It was a string of hell. The sparks burned the skin of the Norwegian woman, and the barbed wire left almost nothing from her T-shirt. By the time she fell to the mat, Astrid looked more like a piece of meat that the chef had worked hard on with a hammer. Her mind was unable to cope with the pain and blood loss.
She didn't know exactly how long she was unconscious, but when she opened her eyes, here and there were people. Each of the silhouettes tripled in the eyes of a Norwegian woman. She tried to figure out what was going on. Astrid involuntarily tried to move, but the pain stopped her, a painful spasm shot through her entire body. Someone near told her not to move.
"I..." she mumbled, hardly understanding what she was saying, "the match..."
The sounds were too loud. It was like she drank a few bottles of whiskey and added a few liters of beer on top. She heard screams. She heard the clapping of hands. She heard other voices as well. Someone nearby said that the match was over. These words have become for her electroconvulsive therapy. What? No, it can't be. Despite another spasm of pain, the Golden Dragon lifted herself up on her elbows and looked around. She heard a squelching sound. Beneath her was a pool of her own blood. And now she realized who all these people around were. They were the medical staff. But that wasn't what worried her. Where is River? Where is this fucking bitch?
She was there. Astrid recognized this bald head. The river was only a few meters away. No. The match isn't over yet, what idiot thought to say that? The Golden Dragon turned onto her stomach. At that moment, a white flash appeared in front of her eyes and she coughed up blood violently. The people nearby began to fuss. She seems to have heard "hold her in place".
"Go..." she croaked, "fuck yourselfs... I... still..."
The Norwegian woman began to crawl forward, pulling her body up with her elbows. There was no question of getting to feet. Her brain forbade her to move. But her fortitude did everything to make her break this order. She didn’t go through this hell to end up like this. The strength left her. Astrid's hands softened and she collapsed completely onto the mat. She could still see River in front of her. They were separated by only one meter. Darkness began to fill Astrid's gaze. The Golden Dragon stretched out her bloody, trembling hand forward, desperately trying to reach the champion. Her palm was just a few centimeters above the mat. She couldn't do it, she understood it, but she tried anyway. Darkness completely enveloped her.
"Valhalla..." she thought at the last moment, before her palm and head fell lifeless on the mat.
