Sonic Boom vs Bangarang

Lyla speaking and suddenly being cut off by the sound of her crashing to the mat was like music to Alaina. She kept her away from her corner and now she wanted to keep the action closer to her own corner. Alaina pulled Lyla up and lift her again but with Lyla facing away from Alaina, taking a few steps towards her own corner before lifting Lyla up and stepping forward attempting to smash her down abdomen-first across her knee for a gut buster!

Alaina was trying to immobilize Lyla near her corner and deal enough damage so Sonic Boom could put this team away while making sure Ellie didn't jump in to break up a pin again.

From the far corner a tired Ellie looked on with a very noticeable frown. It was hard to get a good look at what was happening on the other end of the ring let alone on the outside. The young rookie winced as her partner was dumped into the apron with a loud enough crack that even she had heard it clearly enough. While Lyla was a tough girl, she wasn't sure how long she could hold up being thrown around by someone like Alaina, especially on the outside of the ring. She kept a hand on the ropes, stepping one boot onto the middle rope to lean into the ring slightly, hoping to make herself available should her partner manage to escape.

Lyla groaned on the floor, in no real position to banter at the moment. Hauled up to her feet, the winded girl gave minimal resistance as she was hauled up and slammed back down across Alaina's knees like a ragdoll. She flopped back to the floor writing in pain, squinting one eye washer kicked her feet to manage the pain. "T-thats smarts." She hissed in a low whisper, mostly to herself.

The referee moved to Sonic Boom's side of the ring by this time, throwing up her fingers as she counted loudly down at both women, letting them know a countout had started. If they wanted to finish this match, they had to do it legally in the ring.

Alaina was starting to roll now and knew she had taken the wind out of Lyla. However the count-out count was something she had wanted to avoid. Pulling Lyla up the amazon lift her up holding her across her chest. She wanted to get back in to the ring but didn't want Lyla scrambling for her partner. Alaina to that and slammed her lower back against the apron as hard as she could, but kept hold in order for her to shove Lyla underneath the ropes and head back in to the ring.

Alaina jumped up and rolled underneath herself as she wanted to really end things with a bang. She smiled at Julia and gave her a nod to get ready. Alaina wanted to shove Lyla's head between her legs to deliver an amabomb before tagging in Julia who she hoped would be perched up top. There was no way Lyla could kick out of an amabomb and high flying move of Julia in succession, and Alaina would be in good position to halt any pin breaking attempts by Ellie.

Her body was on fire and the context of it was far removed from what may have made the idea an otherwise exciting one. She had taken far more damage from the ring and the floor at this point as the Amazon made it a point to blast the smaller woman against every hard surface she was within arms reach of. Hoisted up once again, she helplessly flailed in the other woman's grasp, kicking her legs as her fingers pawed at Alaina's shoulder. She closed her eyes in anticipation for what would come next, expecting to be bent in half against the ring post only to be rammed into the apron instead. It was in no way a real improvement though.

The slender pink haired wrestler let out a cry of pain as she was smashed between a rock and a hard place before being tossed effortlessly onto the ring. Her body flopped under the bottom rope, given a hard enough push from her opponent's meaty arm to roll onto her side before her slumped figure ceased to provide any more momentum. There was a weak attempt made to gather herself, fingernails dragging along the canvas and a bit of weight put on her palms with shaky arms but it amounted to nothing. It wasn't until Alaina had grabbed hold of her again to forcefully yank her up that she found some footing with knees buckled inward. Any other time she would have been more than happy to find herself wedges between these thighs but any moment to enjoy it had been beaten out of her and the time spent there was only a few scant seconds before she was being ripped up into the air.

Ellie winced visibly as she watched her partner get manhandled and drilled into the mat by Alaina. She, along with everyone watching, was almost certain Lyla had been finished. All that was left was a pin or a submission. Tight lipped and determined, Ellie pushed her weight down on the middle rope, making room. There was a temptation to jump in immediately to help, but she was bound to her corner for now. The second her partner was getting pinned though she would duck into the ring and brave another rescue attempt even with Alaina playing defense. She had to try.

It was hard for Julia not to kick herself too hard while she watched on from the apron. Thanks to her poorly calculated blunder near the beginning of this bout, Alaina had been forced to carry the brunt of the effort for Sonic Boom against both members of Bangarang. But she was damn glad Alaina was her partner. God knows not just anyone would be capable of stepping into that spot and carrying that burden against a team with as much talent and potential as their opponents had shown.

But the cowgirl knew this wasn’t the time to be down on herself. She could reprimand herself for her foolish mistakes whenever they watched the film back on this match later. Her time to be relied on was going to come again. And this time there would be no room for error. Julia forced all of her mental energy onto that thought, doing her best to push aside the aches her body felt from the damage their foes had inflicted, determined to ensure she wouldn’t let Alaina down again when it counted most!

Sure enough, she saw the moment approaching. The moment Julia recognized The Amazon setting up for her patented Amabomb, the luchadora pulled on the ropes while leaping up, springing from her spot on the apron directly up onto the top rope with her back facing the ring. She glanced over her shoulder to watch the Amabomb hit perfectly, her hand immediately reaching back so Alaina could tag her. And as soon as she felt the tag, the masked blonde stood straight on the top rope before launching herself into a corkscrew moonsault, seeking to come crashing down onto Lyla with her Stardust Press! The Amabomb and Stardust Press combination was Sonic Boom’s tag team finisher, aptly given the same name as the team itself. It was her first time executing the move since her return to Japan, and if it found its mark she would immediately lay across Lyla’s chest while hooking one of her legs, hoping to redeem her earlier mistakes by securing the win for Sonic Boom!

Folded up like an accordion was a phrase that got tossed around an awful lot on commentary but hadn't been something Lyla had ever really heard directed at her until joining AFW. Between Alaina and Thorn, she was making a bad habit of being smashed into oblivion and it wasn't the best look for her. The Amazon had brought her to the mat with her devastating signature powerbomb, leaving her bent head over heels for a long moment before her body unfolded with a rubbery flop to lay her out on a silver platter for Julia to get a bit of revenge on Bangarang for their earlier manhandling of the veteran. Sprawled out on the mat, she made for an easy target with no hope of a quick recovery.

Cameras and phones came out at the clap of a tag, the anticipated big moment at hand as the cowgirl took to the ropes. It had been quite a long time since this was last seen live, especially by those in attendance that hadn't been in house when Julia had made her return. All the beats were there, her form was perfect, and it litt the fans on fire as she twirled in brief defiance of gravity before pummeling to the mat like a bird of prey going for the kill. Lyla's body bounced as Julia hit her dead on, limps jumping off the canvas before dropping limply at her side. A long slender leg was brought up, dangling like a wet noodle as she lay pinned beneath the veteran.

"One!"

Ellie didn't have time to really appreciate the team play at work nor could she spend time shearing a year for her poor partner, she had a match to save. Dipping into the ring she kicked off the middle rope to give herself some momentum. It was a long run to the other corner and waiting for her was the daunting wall of a woman known as Alaina. That didn't stop the rookie, a determined going in her eyes as she drew back her arm and hammer a fist. Their size and weight between both women was readily apparent but the fastest and only way to make the save was going through the Amazon directly. If nothing else, she had a brazen show of heart as she charged forward and threw out a wide lariat, trying to bust her way through to break up the pinfall. "Yaaaah!"

"Two!"

Alaina saw Ellie coming and lunged at her, moving to intercept! Alaina saw the lariat coming and the big amazin decided to go low! The ark swung over her as she lowered her shoulder, trying to plant Ellie to the mat with the hardest spear she could in order to protect the pin!

Alaina knew this had to be it after the resilient Lyla had taken high impact moves in succession. Alaina could only hope her spear did the trick and took Ellie down to the canvas.

She saw it coming in the snap moment Alaina lunged. There was a counter there, she could stop short and catch the other woman's momentum and turn it against her… but forfeit the match in doing so. It wasn't worth it. She had to keep going, had to get by the Amazon or everything was lost. She stutter stepped her last stride, kicking off at the last minute in an awkward attempt to try and convert her offensive swing into a roll over across Alanna's back. In the end there wasn't enough time. She was caught in the side in mid air, letting out a girlie squeal as Ellie was tackled to the canvas like a sack of potatoes.

It was over, just like that. She wasn't going to make it.

Julia heard all the commotion off to the side and knew what it was without looking. Ellie was trying to rush in to break the pin, and Alaina was chasing her down to stop her. The cowgirl squinted her eyes in that final second, bracing herself for the potential impact from her other foe. Until...

"THREE!!!"

The ref's hand struck the mat one last time, and the bell rang immediately after to make it official. Alaina had managed to hold Ellie off. And despite Julia's poor start, Sonic Boom had pulled off the comeback victory! A roar of cheers mixed with the sound of their music filled the arena once again as Julia let go of Lyla's leg and sat up, smiling brightly while she held both fists up in the air!

Picking herself up, she walked over to Alaina and threw one arm around her while keeping her other fist held up in celebration. "We did it!" she said excitedly, in spite of the aches she still felt all over, particularly in her back. Despite the long rest period she had on the apron, it was likely going to be  a day or so before she'd fully recover from all the damage Bangarang had inflicted on her in the first half of the match. "Thanks for covering for me after I crashed and burned. I owe ya one."

Then she turned her attention back to their opponents, extending a hand toward them. "Great match, you guys. Almost had us there for a while! Keep at it, and 'yer gonna have big things ahead of you." If either of them shook her hand, she'd offer the hand to the other as well.

Lyla's leg flopped to the canvas and lay exactly where it fell, the deflated firecracker hadn't the every to straighten it out into a more comfortable position. One eye cracked open, squinting in the arena light just in time to catch a glimpse of Julia climbing off of her. The faintest of sighs escaped her, not really upset she had lost the match for Bangarang as much as she was annoyed she couldn't enjoy her final moments with the cowgirl in defeat with just how badly she had been thrashed. C'est la vie. With a groan she gave sitting up the good old college try but after a second or two of struggling she let herself just relax back into the mat and closed her eyes, pretending she was a still corpse for dramatic effect when and if Ellie came to her side.

Sure enough, as soon as Sonic Boom rose to celebrate, the lavender haired rookie crawled her way over to Lyla, plopping down beside her partner. The irish lass could hear her partners breathing speckled with soft worried noises as she felt her neck gently prodded for a pulse and her shoulder given a small nudge. "Are you okay? Do you need a medic?"

"It's too late for me… go on without me…" Lyla rasped in a strained tone, raising her hand weakly to raise it up towards her friend, pawing at the air. Ellie reached out to take it, like the good friend she was, but it fell away at the last moment and plopped down right on the top of her chest, fingers curling slightly to cop a feel. With a disgusted gawk Ellie batted her friends hand away, with glaring rose tinted cheeks, glaring daggers down at her friend as she pushed herself to her feet with a wobble. Lyla felt Ellie nudge her with the tip of her boot, forgoing the gentle treatment at this point. "Ow." The irish lass snickered with an impish grin on her face.

"You're fine, get up you big baby." Turning from her friend she jumped, startled to find Julia looking in her direction. Not just that but she was heaping  praise on them. Ellie's eyes lit up like the night sky filled with stars, eagerly reaching out to take the veteran's hand in both of hers and give it a vigorous shake. Unlike Lyla's persistence which was easy to boil down to hockey attraction, the more serious of the pair clearly had a deep admiration for Julia and Alaina and it showed now more than the brief glimpse at the start of the match. "It was an honor you get to wrestle you both, I can't express that enough. I think… we have a long way to go with Bangarang, but I learned some really useful stuff tonight. Thank you." Ellie looked between both women with a wide smile like a kid in a candy shop.

When offered a hand to shake, peered up at it at one eye, awkwardly returning the gesture from the mat. Standing up seemed like too much work right at this moment.
