Gaining Momentum - Round 2 - Mako 'The Shark' Adachi vs. Cicilia 'The Juggernaut' De'Reignhardt

Mako was in a bit of trouble as she put on her attire. Fitting into a black short shorts and a top that was just as tight, the shark thought about how much of a disadvantage she'd be in. Mako hadn't realized that only her first match would be kickboxing, and now she was going into a standard boxing match. Sure she knew how to box, and she'd been trained in a similar style, but that style also relied on her legs. In a sport that only allowed punches, the strongest weapons that she had were prohibited.

Plus, for the first time since joining AFW...Mako was wearing boots. It might not have seemed like an issue, but the shark saw wearing them as a bad luck. Still, Mako would be damned before she went into a match half assed. It didn't matter if the odds were against her, the shark was going to kick ass as usual!

So after putting on her robe and loves, Mako would shadow box a little before smacking her face with her gloves. The shark was pumping herself up, and in few moments, she was jumping on the balls of her feet and shouting at herself in the mirror. The poor guy outside the locker room was kinda weirded out by what he was hearing. He was supposed to tell her that it was time to go out, but she was just screaming some weird shit at herself.

However, when he finally reached for the door, Mako barged out of the room and started making her way to gorilla position (Without even noticing that she'd hit the guy's face with the door, strangely enough).

Mako's theme music would play through the arena as she came out. Her black rope was open so people could see her normal attire. Besides the boots, though, which were still creeping her out. Regardless, Mako would walk towards the ring with a fierce grin on her face. Then, after walking up the stairs, the shark would step through the ropes and throw her fists up in the air. The crowd continued to cheer her on and drench her in their excitement, which Mako eagerly absorbed like a sponge. This is what she lived for, and after a few more LONG moments, the young woman walked over to her corner to rest her back against.

"Bring it on, Juggernaut" Mako thought to herself as she watched and waited for Cicilia to come out for their match.

Cicilia was quick to exit her side of the arena when it was her turn, raising a fist in the air to greet the crowd! She smiled as they CHEERED her appearance, pumped after her last match against the giantess! She was big... she was strong.... But she was no match for the Juggernaut! Cicilia De'Reignhart walked out of that match the superior of the two, showing that not just strength but will and skill would win the day! Her defeat of a 6 foot giant really stirred up the spectators, actually chanting the German's title as she walked down the ramp! ...She couldn't help but smile, pride filling her features. How else could one feel when this many people come to see YOU? It was an unfamiliar feeling but not a bad one. She cherished it... Right until she spotted her opponent.

She had watched Mako's match... Not someone to be trifled with, she knew that for certain but here? Where her options were limited? She was nothing Cicilia couldn't handle. A strong woman in a smaller package who can throw mean punches and meaner kicks... That didn't mean she could truly box. From all the matches she'd seen, Cicilia felt that she was the only true master of the craft here. She could spot the mistakes her fellow combatants, plot strategies... ways to win... Mako would be a tougher fight than her last foe... but not by much.

The Juggernaut slipped into the ring, walking up so that she stood toe-to-toe with her opponent. They were about the same size with Cicilia having a slightly larger build, their complexions almost completely contrasting with one another. Cicilia's ghastly white skin flashed against Mako's darker tattooed surface. She looked tough... No doubt about it, what with her firm expression and hard eyes. Her super-sayain hair was ridiculous but hey... one couldn't have it all.

"Better be able to throw a good punch." Cicilia remarked, cocking an eyebrow. "The last one couldn't. Hate to be disappointed two rounds in a row."

Mako watched as Cicilia made her entrance. She noticed the woman was pretty pale, and that she didn’t look much like a “juggernaut”. Mako knew looks could be deceiving, though, and that Cici was definitely worthy of the title. She’d seen a few of her matches, after all. All of which were brutal bouts where Cicilia took a lot of punishment. So as the woman entered the ring, Mako had taken off her robe before stepping forward to greet her. Which was when Cicilia started to talk about how she didn’t want to be disappointed twice. That was a cocky thing to say…which was good, because The shark liked it when her opponent’s were cocky.

“Oh? Well then how about you lean forward a bit, Juggernaut, and I’ll give you a sample?” Mako said with a cocky smirk as she punched her gloves together with a  fierce THWACK. “Then again, I wouldn’t want to knock you out with one punch, right? Then I’d be the one who was disappointed, and you wouldn't be as tough as your little nickname implies.” the shark explained with a taunting tone as she got up close and personal with the talented boxer.

The ref girl quickly got herself involved and told them to get back to their corners, though. Despite knowing the match wouldn't start until they listened, Mako lingered at first, and continued to stare down her opponent. But after a few moments, she’d finally oblige and take a few steps back into her corner. Once there, the shark would bounce on her toes as she waited for the bell. Mako was dying to show Cicilia what she was capable of, as well as seeing what the juggernaut could do first hand.

"Sounds like you want a free hit."Cicilia remarked with a raised eyebrow. "What's wrong? Don't think you can take me on? Sounds like the words of little elritze instead of the shark you claim to be." The German only smirked as Mako promised to take her down and disprove her title, the same promises thrown around by many-a-woman she'd knocked to the floor in her career. "Then you better prove it, fishy or you'll look like an idiot."

When the Ref got between them, trying to push them apart, Cicilia refused to move for a moment, determined to stare down her opponent. Her sanguine eyes were hard, solid and confident in her skill, not giving Mako any indication of weakness... And why would there be? She just toppled a woman over half-a-foot taller than her! It was common sense height and weight made a significant difference in any fight and knocking out someone with THAT big of an advantage...? Skilled opponent or not, Cicilia was riding high on that achievement. Still... At almost nearly the same time, the two fighters turned from one another, walking into their respective corners. The Juggernaut glared across the ring at her opponent, working herself up into a hostile, aggressive mindset... Her plan was to just run over Mako, flatten that shark into anchovie paste! If she could pin her down, force her into a corner... The rest of this fight would be simple and straight-forward.

As Cicilia plotted her strategy, the referee-girl announced them both to the crowd, declaring some of their bigger achievements! The black-haired boxer couldn't help but smirk as the fight against Shane was brought up, how she leveled the midget with just one mighty punch. It was probably her biggest achievement, knocking someone out with one blow and she had gotten even stronger since then! If Mako was anywhere near as tough as that girl, then this would be a quick and simple bout...

With the *DING* of the bell, Cicilia rushed in, arms raised in front of her face, folded over it like a shield, armor on the machine that would run down the shark! Should Mako go on the offensive, the German would advance with abandon, allowing the blows to bounce off her guard harmlessly before opening up to strike like a viper, lashing out with a vicious straight to Mako's jaw followed by a hook to her ribs! Up-down strategy, trying to get Mako into the rhythm of going on the defense in a pattern... Make her think that Cicilia was a predictable fighter. Strike at her head followed by a strike to her belly. Rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat...

Mako stares at Cicilia blankly as she taunts her about wanting a free shot. It wasn't the taunts themselves that peeved her, though. It was the fact she was speaking German for part of it. Camilia had done the same thing during the trash talking between them, and it was starting to become a trend. Mako did NOT want this to become a trend, because she couldn't fucking taunt back if she wasn't completely sure what the woman had said.

"Heh...ok one...I just want to hit you. And two...I don't speak German. Say I'm a bitch, dumb ass,or  whatever you want, just say it in a language I can understand. And THREE...this fishy is going to knock you out!!!" Mako declared before being separated by the ref girl. It took a while, though. Niether Mako nor Cicilia would back down as they stared at one another. The shark thought her opponent's eyes were pretty badass, but she'd keep that opinion to herself. When they finally broke up, though, she'd keep her eyes on Cici while walking backwards.

The referee would then start to speak about their achievements to the crowd. Meanwhile, Mako kept staring at her opponent, thinking up strategies and ideas to counter Cicilia's superior training in Boxing. But as soon as the bell rang out, the shark was on the move.

Mako charged in just as fast as Cici with her arms raised as well. Seeing as she was at a disadvantage, the shark would focus on blocking the punches coming at her. She managed to block the first, but then another one shot lower into her ribs. Mako let out a grunt as it struck her rib cage, but she'd keep trying to hold her guard. Then came a punch to her head and another punch to her body. This time, though, Mako was hit in the face, and blocked the body shot. The punch to the face didn't hit full force, but she was still cursing under her breathe. The shark was getting played, and she did not like that. Luckily, she could see the pattern, and new how to adjust.

As soon as the next punch was thrown at her head, Mako would dodge it instead of blocking while stepping to the side. The shark would continue to dodge Cicilia's fists while continuing to back up and occasionally side step to get some room for herself. Mako figured if she kept moving she could eventually get a mistake out of the Juggernaut. It did seem like a she had a short fuse from a few of her previous matches. So if Mako managed to get under her skin, make her reckless, she might just have a chance.

"Or... How about we skip to the ass-kicking." Cicilia offered instead of the 3 terms. The start of the match began well for the juggernaut, her offense going relatively uncontested! Instead of trading blows with her, the big-talking shark instead hid behind her arms... and rather poorly at that. The barrage of blows the German rained down upon her cut through Mako's meager defense like cold butter: Some resistance... not enough to matter. Not once did the "shark" show her teeth to the boxer and that was frustrating to say the least. After all that big talk, she was going to run and hide...? What a complete joke! The Juggernaut was getting into her grove now but that wouldn't last as her darker-skinned opponent slipped out of the way of a straight meant for her nose, apparently giving up on holding her ground!

"So... the little sharky can be slippery when she wants too!" The german growled. As she retracted that arm, her other came around in a vicious hook, her padded glove cutting through the air like the blade on a scythe! Whether or not it hit, the Juggernaut watched Mako's moves carefully, trying to mirror each and every step she made, trying to make it so the only direction she had to move was backwards. In a way, she a wall of one, everywhere the Shark would swim being threatened by a punch to her face! That was her new target now, that face... Specifically, the jaw. Hooks and uppercuts raked at Mako's defenses while the Boxer's footwork aimed to hamstring her opponent's maneuverability. She wanted to FORCE her into a fight with her. It was a Slugger's greatest strength, to force someone into a fight. If they wanted to get free, they would have to PUNCH their way out, a strategy Cicilia had refined for months now.

If she'd manage to box Mako in, Cicilia would advance one step on Mako for every step back the shark had taken and hold it. The German wasn't particularly aggressive seeing as she wasn't chasing her around the ring... but passive-aggressive with this strategy of keeping her within arms reach all the time. Eventually there would be nowhere left to run. Either the ropes or the corner would lock Mako down, force her to stand her ground... and then suffer the consequences of doing so as Cicilia smashed her fists over and over and over along her belly, face and chest.

Mako was always pretty good on her feet. Something that she was proving as she practically danced around Cicilia's onslaught. Still, it was clear that Cici was trying to box her in. Get her somewhere where she couldn't dodge or retreat. Sadly for the juggernaut, though, Mako wasn't easily caged.

When focusing solely on evasion, the shark felt like she could avoid Cici's fists all day. There were some close calls where the woman's fist practically grazed her skin, but with every miss fire, Mako's cockiness grew. So the shark had a big smile on her face as she dodged. One that was laughing at the woman's efforts to hit her. One particular uppercut actually had Mako bend back almost like she was Neo in the matrix.

"Heh...does that piss you off?" Mako asked tauntingly in response to Cicilia's growls. "Maybe if you had given me that free hit...I would have given you one too...at least then you would've been able to land a decent hit on me~" she'd say to piss her opponent off even more.

Shortly after, though, Mako realized she was pretty close to getting stuck in a corner. Taunting Cici had distracted her just enough that now she was close to getting caught. So the shark would take a step forward rather than back. That way, she could try to duck under Cicilia's arm during the next swing, before spinning right around her foe. Mako had done the same thing tons of times before in the form of a surprise German Suplex. Of course she couldn't Suplex Cici. This wasn't wrestling, after all. What Mako could do though was lightly smack the back of Cicilia's head with her glove. Nothing painful, but it'd be very VERY embarrassing for Cici if the shark managed to do it.

Cicilia's devastating attacks were danced around by Mako, each crushing punch simply slipped around like a fly around the jaws of a dinosaur! The Juggernaut hissed as the shark's lips parted in a mocking, disgustingly confident smile, like she believed that this moment of invulnerability would last for long. Even though she wasn't able to land ONE. DAMN. PUNCH on her, Cicilia's plan to back her into a corner seemed to be working!

"Shut up and fight, chum-bucket." the Juggernaut growled, growing tired of this desert-dry wit. "I'll pound you into shark-bait!" For all her tough words, however, she was still just as unsuccessful as landing a critical blow as she was before and it was getting on her nerves... Her fists cut the air like knives through butter, her knuckles wrecking-balls that would smash through any guard but that did not matter if she couldn't HIT THE DAMN WOMAN! Outboxers... Her boxing kryptonite and the most annoying class of fighters to ever grace the damn sport. Grumbling to herself, she threw a blistering straight at Mako, one intent on pushing her face through her head and into the back of her skull... but she dodged it like the rest. Ducking under her fist, the shark slipped behind her and Cicilia was more than ready to whirl around and take the fight to her...

That was, until something tagged her in the back of the head. It was soft... Not a punch, more like a push, causing Cicilia to stumble forward a step. She blinked, confused, turning around to see Mako's fist extended. Did... She was messing with her wasn't she...? The cocky-ass grin on the shark confirmed it! Cicilia scowled back at her, Raising her fists and waited. Staring into Mako's eyes and challenging her. This fight wouldn't go anywhere unless Mako took the fight to her. Cicilia would have to be the island in this swirling sea of dodges, waiting to push through each punch and deliver her own!

Go ahead... Come at me then, you coward... I'll hit you back three times as hard.

After smacking the woman's head, the whole audience seemed to say the same thing. "OOOoooooohhhhhh!" they'd murmur like a group of students hurled together when one of the cheerleaders started some shit with a different cheerleader. Mako knew she got under Cicilia's skin as soon as the woman turned around. That head smack clearly ticked her off, but she didn't charge back at the shark. In fact, Cicilia stayed right where she was at. Mako through this was pretty odd considering the woman definitely wanted, and rightfully so, to knock her freaking block off. But then it hit her. The boxer was definitely planning to beat her into tiny pieces, but she'd wait for the shark to come to her, first.

Cicilia had figured it out. If she couldn't get to the shark, she'd make the shark come to her. Mako hesitated at first, but there was no helping it. Not only did she have to attack this time, but the young woman couldn't hold herself back. Mako had only been able to hold herself back from rushing in recklessly by having fun at Cici's expense with all the dodging and taunting. Now, unable to do all that, she desperately wanted to run in swinging.

And that's exactly what she did. Mako ran forward before throwing punch after punch at Cicilia in an attempt to overwhelm her. If she was going in the shark was going in for the kill. Each fist had considerable power behind it, and Mako made sure that they shot out like rapid fire. However, the shark didn't keep up much of a defense. In fact, she did this intentionally. If Cici wanted a hit, she could have one. Mako wanted to show her that she could take whatever was thrown at her, and deal out twice as much.
