Re: Charlie Haines vs. Valley Doll - Tension Rising
The move was hardly pleasant for Valley. Charlie, surprise of surprises, was a lot harder than the mats she typically practiced this move on, and slamming down on her chest felt like coming down on a sandbag. No give, not too soft. No fun.
She rolled away the moment she hit, clutching her chest and hissing. As much as it sucked, though, it was clearly worse for her opponent, who looked like he had one foot in the grave. Best to seize the moment, then.
She crawled on top of his chest, pulled his leg up, and leaned in for the pin, which the referee kindly obliged.
”1…!”

Re: Charlie Haines vs. Valley Doll - Tension Rising
"TWO!"
The count continued and Charlie made no attempt to move. He couldn't really gather the thought process required and it wasn't until the referee's hand went up again that he realized the situation he was in. HE groaned and tried to thrust up, but his attempt had no power or coordination, falling woefully short.
"THREE!"
It was over. Embarrassingly quickly too. His scattered thoughts, bloody lip and aching body were his reward for being in the most one sided match of his career. A match that ended with him looking like a random guy from the crowd with no experience whatsoever. He didn't want to be seen. He wanted to crawl in a hole and be left alone more than anything. He simply laid on the mat, his fuzzy vision looking up at the lights as he lazily wiped the blood from his mouth.

Re: Charlie Haines vs. Valley Doll - Tension Rising
The hand came down, the referee called out, and just like that, Valley’s Tension debut was over.
She rolled off of him and rose so the referee could take her hand and hold it high, getting the cheers of the crowd. It was a good feeling. Not that there was anything wrong with the Friction crowd, but there was something neat about meeting a fresh audience, fighting in a new ring. Like trying out new pants for the first time.
She could get used to this. Definitely. Might be worth a look in the future, after this stuff with Kaylee boiled over.
For the moment, though, she wanted to shift attention to Charlie. She extended her hand his way and smiled. ”Need a hand up?”

Re: Charlie Haines vs. Valley Doll - Tension Rising
Charlie began to get focus and saw Valley standing over him with her hand extended. He already was a very definitive loser in the ring tonight, he figured being sore about it would just be downright scummy of him. He reached up and grabbed it, working his way gingerly to his feet, his face contorted in pain that he tried poorly to make look like an awkward grin. "Thanks. I can see why Alaina had so much trouble with ya since... well, you kicked my ass in pretty short order heh heh." He said, nodding to Valley. She made her triumphant debut and the crowd was roaring. He couldn't remember ever hearing anything like that when he was called on to wrestle on a fairly regular basis.
His face was red, and not just from his busted lip. Giving one last nod, grabbing Valley's hand and holding it high he slowly backed away and waved. Charlie slowly slinked away as he rolled underneath the ropes and began to make his way to the back.
He had a lot to think about given his first match in nearly a year and a half had ended with him losing in roughly two or three minutes tops. He pulled off one move, and that was a counter out of desperation coupled with Valley underestimating where he was at in the moment. He came over hyped as a speedy flyer, only to mess up his knee before he had a match. He was never the same again after that. His Tension career was by all accounts disappointing to anyone watching and even more so to Charlie himself.
As he got to the locker room he knew what had to be done. He never went to school, never had any other job aside from working at a gas station while he wrestled in San Diego. Really, it was Alaina that the scouts noticed and she talked them into signing him to drag him to Japan to make some money as a way to repay he friend for getting her into wrestling. He couldn't talk to Alaina until after he got back to the USA because she would go nuts trying to talk him out of doing what he knew was right. Charlie changed immediately, putting all the important things in his pants pockets. He left his gym bag on the bench, holding his wrestling attire in his hand. Charlie sighed and walked over to the garbage can, throwing it in there. Despite what he wanted, this just wasn't in the cards for him.
He would go home, pack up his things, get L.C's ashes and prepare Angel for a plane ride back to the USA. Tonight, Tension had seen the final one sided loss that would mark the final time they saw Charlie Haines.
