Edgar Shaw vs Bethany Kanzuki [Standard Match]

Edgar never was much for games like tag or hide and seek as a kid. The idea of running from an aggressor had always seemed dumb. Even back then he was more at home settling things by force which had become a bit of a problem in their neighborhood before the family started up and moving more often. After that it was a clean slate every time, and a quick rise to action to let people know he and Leah were off limits when it came to being harassed. For the most part he didn't have to live with the consequences, after all within a year or so they would be uprooted again and he'd have a new set of faces looking at him. His want to get rises out of people likely stemmed from that, immediate short sighted enjoyment. The idea of messing with Bethany might have long term effects now that he lived and worked here, never crossed his mind.

"This is that point of a match where you're expected to actually do something. Just a heads up, in case you're new to this whole thing, blondie." He gave her a slightly smug smirk, seeming to revel in the fact she seemed to already be pissed off at him. Her body language said a lot even without that tone in her voice. "Well, at least you're polite." She quipped at her use of the word "please". He hadn't really let one opportunity pass him by when he could take a jab at her, working the mental side of their conflict before they even laid hands on one another. He knew that was short lived though. He wasn't going to dance around the ring all night, they signed him up to fight, so he was going to knock this girl down. Hard. Repeatedly.

Unlike Leah, Bethany had a very low stance when she attacked. He assumed it was something more technical, some easy way to work on a person's center of gravity. All of that stuff was beyond him. He knew the moves, and had a bit of practice in the ring with more showy professional wrestling types that focused on the showy parts of the sports. This lady? She had an almost animalistic vibe to her lunges. Neat, but he wasn't going to be impressed by her trying to tackle him all night. Unlike last time however, he didn't seem to try to move. Stance braced, shoulders squared, he ate her shoulder digging into his midsection, breathing out with the impact as if on purpose. She managed to push him back by momentum along, his boots dragging along the canvas before the two came to a dead stop.

"You are a hugger." A success for her in the moment, as she wrapped her arms around him, had also been a success for him, as he raised his arm up. As she clutched his waist, she left her back completely exposed to him. There was no guard to break, no fancy dodges, she rooted herself to him, which he was fine with. One of his arms hand reached down and back, tucking up against Bethany's arm around him to hold it in place. He wasn't struggling to break free, a early sign something was off. His raised arm hooked around like a swinging pendulum, gaining speed as it traveled to slam directly into Bethany's side. For a relatively lanky individual his fist packed a shocking amount of power behind them.

If his first blow landed true and opened Bethany up for more, he would be happy to oblige with landing as many followup blows to her side as it would taken to loosen her grip on him. He intended to see about pounding her enough she would try to pull back, if she did he would attempt to tuck his arm around her neck and jerk backwards to deliver a sloppy DDT. A simple but effective move that just about everyone and their mother knew. It could be argued someone's mother could deliver a prettier one than Edgar, but in it's crude execution, to managed to drill a person's face and head into the mat just as badly.
