Pyrena Alexandria Nikos vs Isabella White - A Second Try

It was good to be back.

The Greek found herself inside the ring once more, after a lengthy hiatus away from it. It wasn't her fault, finding matches was tricky. Good that she didn't give up on it entirely, things always takes patience.

And she certainly didn't slack while she was away, having been training hard (and fighting a couple of people in the gym) and keeping in peak condition. She didn't want to be called in and not be at her best. The audience deserve the best. And she was gonna give her opponent a good fight too.

Speaking of which, she didn't know much about her opponent. Another newcomer, Isabella White, being her first official match. Only going with just the information of her name, the Greek, awaiting the call in the gorilla position, prayed to the gods that this was a more tougher opponent this time. She couldn't bare facing another Sandy Crosswire. As fun as it was beating that bully up.

Pyrena:

Soon the majestic theme blast through the speakers, the trumpets pretty much heralding Pyrena's return as she comes out to the ramp. Back to normal with her scarlet red hair in a waist-length ponytail, curled slightly into a loose ringlet, and her vivid green eyes watching the audience in attendance. She stands tall, the brown boots adding 3" to her already tall 5'11. The Roman warrior attire is still there, the corset, the black miniskirt and the red drapery that reaches down to her knees. The bronze circlet headpiece that could be seen above her ear and under her bangs and a bronze bracelet on the upper half of her left arm.

Yep. Pyrena was back.

The crowd cheering and watch in awe as the Amazonian slams her gold spear and shield together before raising the spear in her right hand and makes her way down the ring, basking the glory and the crowd welcome her again after a while. She drops the spear and shield.down and slides them under the ring before climbing onto the apron and slingshots her tall frame over the top rope.

She was pumped and ready to fight as always, rolling her neck and shoulders as her eyes focus on the entrance. Let's see what this Isabella girl looks like...

This was it, Isabella's first match.

She didn't know what to expect from her opponent. She was still fairly new to AFW, and apart from her incident at the gym, she hasn't interacted with anyone at AFW yet. In fact she wasn't even at 100%, due to the incident at the gym.

Isabella was standing by the entrance, waiting for her theme song to hit. Whilst she was waiting, she tried applying pressure to her right leg, as well as feeling her cheek occasionally. Her leg seemed to have gotten better. It hasn't healed fully, but it was feeling much better, compared to earlier today. Her cheek on the other hand, was still in pain. Isabella was knocked out in the gym earlier due to a hard punch in the face, and she was still feeling it. Every time she pushed down on her cheek, she felt a surge of pain rushing to her face. She wasn't sure of whether she could take another blow to the face or not, but she didn't want to find out. She needed to try her best to protect her cheek, or she could risk getting knocked out again.

Isabella:

Her theme song finally hit, signalling that she needed to get out, and head towards the ring, and so she did. She walked onto the stage, pausing to look at all of the fans. "Woah.." she said quietly, whilst looking around at all of the fans that attended. It was overwhelming. Isabella has fought a lot of people in the past, but she has never fought in a large crowd like this before. Before joining AFW, she'd only get into fights within her gym, so she's never had the luxuary of performing in front of thousands of people.

Isabella shook her head, discarding the thought, then she decided to head down the ramp, and towards the ring. As she got closer, and closer to the ring, she was able to get a better look of her opponent. She was very tall. It was quite surprising to Isabella. She couldn't remember the last time she had seen a woman who was this tall in person. She got into the ring through going up the stairs, and entering through the middle ropes. When she got into the ring, she eyed her opponent, and walked towards the center of the ring.

Pumped and ready to go, Pyrena awaits for her opponent to show up. She was itching for a fight, especially ever since her gym bouts. Pacing around back and forth, the Red Amazonian was hungry for battle

And then Isabella's theme hits and the blonde shows up on the ramp. In the initial moments, Pyrena's emerald eyes scans the girl. Isabella looked like Alice in Wonderland almost, amazed by the number of fans. She was new. And she looks good. Perhaps she would prove to be a great challenge after all.

Unbeknownst to Pyrena, Isabella wasn't exactly 100% coming to the ring, which might affect things this fight. Still, she would be in for a tough fight, Pyrena certainly looking for the win in her second match.

As Isabella climbs inside the ring, Pyrena could get a better look at her opponent, size, muscles, everything. This would be good.

The Red Amazonian comes to the center of the ring, almost towering over the smaller blonde. Rolling her neck, she extends her hand for a shake, the other hand resting on her hip.

"Hey. Hope we have a good match, tonight." A little respect can't hurt, wanting to start things right and not like her debut bout with Sandy.

Isabella watched as Pyrena approached her. She was intrigued by her clothing. It looked well made, and it certainly was different from what she had seen other wrestlers wear on TV. As fashionable as it looked, it didn't look quite comfortable, and she didn't quite understand why Pyrena would wear it, especially to a wrestling match. It must have been apart of this thing called a 'gimmick' that Isabella heard about before, but she wasn't quite sure on how it worked.

Isabella looked up at Pyrena's face as she got closer to her. She was rather tall compared to her; there was quite a noticable difference. In fact, the average person would have probably found Pyrena's height to be intimidating, but Isabella didn't. She stood her ground, keeping a rather serious face, and watching as Pyrena got closer and closer. She knew this match wasn't going to be easy, but it's now going to be harder due to her injured leg; her main form of offense.

Pyrena soon stopped, and extended a hand to Isabella. She wanted her to shake it. Isabella looked down at Pyrena's hand, then back up to her. Isabella was a rather mean, and stubborn person, but one thing she wasn't was disrespectful. She would always make sure that she'd show respect to her opponents no matter who they were in more formal matches. She gladly took her opponent's hand and shook it. She took pride in showing respect to her opponents, and she always expected the same amount of respect back.

"May the best woman win" She replied, then she retreated back to her corner.

Yes, it was a gimmick. One that Pyrena is proud of. Certainly helps to stand out from the crowd too as she looks like the Greek warriors of old.

Pyrena stood tall, not trying to be intimidating but her height and size means that the redhead looked imposing. Like a actual goddess. Again, not her intention. Isabella stood her ground as Pyrena came up and extended her hand for a handshake. To Pyrena's relief, Isabella did accept the show of respect. Pyrena nodded as Isabella replies that may the best woman win. "Of course." Pyrena smiled as both went to their own corners, waiting for the bell to ring.

Alright. Things are going well so far...

The bell would ring and Pyrena would come out of the gate straight away, not a single step misplaced as she came in on Isabella. Stopping when she gets to the optimal striking space, the Greek woman would fire a low roundhouse kick, just aiming the top of her boot to Isabella's uninjured leg, testing the waters on the newcomer.

The bell would ring, and Pyrena would approach her almost instantly, so Isabella would raise her guard. She wasn't sure on what to expect, as it was her first time facing Pyrena. Isabella would also move towards Pyrena in an attempt to keep herself out of the corner. She knew if she was trapped in the corner it'd only make the match harder for her.

Soon, Pyrena was within striking distance of Isabella, and attempted to kick her left leg. This surprised Isabella, solely because of the range that Pyrena had over her, which may make it hard for her to get a decent strike in. She'd raise her left leg to block the strike with her shin. After blocking the strike, she'd then attempt to lift the leg Pyrena attacked with, as an attempt to make her fall to the mat.

If this succeeds, she'd then attempt kick her downed opponent's right hip.

Funnily enough that Pyrena didn't throw the kick to the other leg, no doubt that it would bring more of a reaction out of the newcomer. Of course, she didn't know that, it would be by chance if she did end up hitting the other leg.

Although that would have meant game over since Pyrena would know about it and target it more, putting fear on the opponent. Luckily for the blonde, the low roundhouse kick struck on her left leg, although not in the intended place as Isabella brought her leg up and used her shin to take the kick. Mmmm. A striker perhaps...

Her guess may have been right as Isabella attempted to lift Pyrena's leg up in an effort to take her down to the mat. With her own knowledge of martial arts, Pyrena brought her leg back, although it did made her wobble some as she took her right leg behind, her left leg leading. She does have the reach established to her opponent, Pyrena assuming she might think of a certain way now that the Red Amazon can hit Isabella with such range.

Isabella's attempt failed, and her opponent retracted her leg. She was hoping to get her opponent off of her feet; she knew the opponent would have had a tougher time dealing with her if they were on the floor, but that didn't matter. She knew she caught Pyrena off-guard just from how quickly she retracted her leg.

This also put Isabella in a slightly tight spot; one which she simply attempted to solve out of instinct, instead of trying to measure her opportunities. She was already bending down from attempting to grab Pyrena's leg. As soon as she retracted it, she looked up, to see where her opponent was. She saw that her opponent was off balance, and she decided to capitalise on that as quickly as she could.

She first bridged the gap between the two, stepping in with her right foot. A small amount of pain shot through the leg as she took the step. She was still feeling the effects from her fight in the gym earlier, and it was preventing her from generating a good amount of power behind her next attack. She lifted up her left knee, and attempted to drive it right into her opponent's stomach. She wasn't able to put as much weight on her right foot as much as she'd have hoped due to her wanting to suppress the pain of her injury, which limited the strength of her attack.

It was a decent plan to block and then throw their leg askew so that they would lose balance and fall to the mat. Isabella knew what she was doing. Good thing for Pyrena that the attempt was foiled and she retracted her leg. This fight might be interesting after all....

Although Isabella's plan to take the girl down failed, Pyrena was off balanced from it and the blonde looked to take advantage of it as swift as possible. If Pyrena knew that Isabella was fighting with an injury then she would commend her bravery. This is still a fight however and Pyrena was still in serious mode. The blonde lifted her knee just to drive it right into the gut of the Red Amazonian. Although it would be less powerful, the Greek was already used to the brutal style that is Kyokushin style. One that really toughened her up and gave her said confidence to just tense her abs and prepare for the hit, since she wasn't going to block in time.

Surprising for the Redhead was the power behind that attack. Not to discount or to put down Isabella's knee strike but she had been hit by harder ones before. It did make her wince. But Pyrena wasn't gonna lose focus from that hit however, the Red Amazonian would use her long reach to use her hands to grab on the leg that drove into her stomach before it would retract back. All for a good attempt at taking the blonde down with a single leg takedown.

Isabella's knee connected. It struck her opponent right in the gut, just as planned. She was full of herself, and believed that the strike must have taken the wind out of her opponent, despite her being injured. In fact, she believed her opponent would have doubled over from the pain of her strike, allowing her to continue her offense. But she was wrong. Her strike wasn't able to do any of that.

Isabella's strike was barely affective against Pyrena. She wanted it to do more damage, but she couldn't generate enough force due to her injured leg. Her leg was holding her back, and she was going to pay for it. She looked up at her opponent's face, and the hit barely even phased her. She was regretting her decision to even go ahead with the knee strike now. It was now her who was in an awkward position, and it was something that Pyrena could easily capitalise on.

She felt her leg get grabbed by Pyrena, the same leg that she used to strike her in the gut. She was using her right leg to balance herself for the breif moment she was still standing. She was using her injured leg, and pain was shooting through it as she did so. She didn't want to get taken down to the mat, she wanted to counter it, well, to atleast try to, but she couldn't. The pain in her leg was getting to her. She let herself get pushed down onto the canvas; there was nothing she could do. She felt Pyrena's weight crash down ontop of her as soon as she hit the mat. She coughed out as Pyrena's body landed ontop of her. Pyrena was rather heavy, especially when compared to Isabella, and combined with Isabella's weak upper body strength, she couldn't push Pyrena off of her. All she could do was lay down on the canvas, waiting for Pyrena's next move.
