Entropy Championship Title Match: Valley Doll (C) vs. Ava Landry - The Brass Ring [FWC]

With every successful move, Valley was feeling more and more of her momentum, her mind working overtime to keep up with the demanding pace of her body. She’d thought as she got older that her limbs would slow down and her moves would weaken, but the opposite seemed to be true. She’d never felt more alive than in the past few months, sensed she was hitting her stride, and that the was sort of energy she was bringing to Ava.

As her Canadian opponent began to rise from the armdrag, Valley once again wasted next to no time, popping to her feet and charging after in hot pursuit. By the time Ava had turned around, the Slamazonwas already waiting for her. In fact, she was in the air, jumping her way.

Valley leaped high and shot her legs out around Ava’s head, wrapping them around her skull from both sides. From there, it all came down to a move she’d used thousands of times over - she yanked back, pulled her legs over, and tried to send Ava flying with a standing hurricanrana.

Okay, this was going to have to change.

That wasn't an opinion, but just a statement of fact if the Canadian wanted any chance of winning the Entropy belt here tonight. Right now the American was controlling the entire match, Ava would have to change that, and soon.

It had become painfully aware that the Canadian wasn't going to be able to keep up to the champ's speed, but if she made it so that the champ couldn't do that, well... Maybe that could turn the tides somewhat. She just needed a way to get close to her and do some damage. She wasn't under any illusions that this would be painless, no matter what she did she figured that it was going to hurt like hell, but hey, she was willing to work through some pain.

Ava saw her chance when Valley leaped up and wrapped her legs around her head. As the champ's legs locked in place, the pink haired woman would try to wrap her arms around Valley's thighs then fall forwards purposefully as she felt the American try to send her flying with a hurricanrana. Her hope was to throw more weight than the champ had been prepared for down, trying to bring both of them to the canvas, and would try to keep her grip on Valley either way, wanting to keep her hold on the American and keep her from getting away.

On the surface it probably looked like Valley was winning handedly, but the reality was a bit different. She was whipping Ava about the ring, of course, but she needed to keep the Canadian down, needed to get her in a submission move and keep her there at the center of the ring.

The hurricanrana would’ve been a great setup for something...if it landed. Instead, Ava showed those instincts again, catching Valley in mid-jump and effectively countering into a powerbomb. It drove the wind out of Valley, but even so, she managed a grunting chuckle. ”Good one.” It might have come off as taunting, and maybe it was a little, but she genuinely meant it. She’d been doing hurricanranas for over a decade, couldn’t remember anyone pulling off that counter.

Her shoulders were on the mat, and the referee began to move into position, but Valley lifted one up before she could even drop down. That wasn’t all she did, either - while she hadn’t been aiming for this initially and she was hurting from the counter, Ava’s head being between her legs was too good of an opportunity to miss.

Valley crossed her ankles and claimed down, looking to put some pressure on Ava’s neck with a forward scissorhold. Her options would be limited from this position, but she was willing to take any and all opportunities as they came.

While some may have seen the champ's comment as a taunt, and admittedly even Ava did a bit, she still took at face value, smiling up at Valley from between her legs. "Thanks," she said, "Good moves. I can see how you got your belt." She added, complimenting her champion before she found the blonde's legs squeezing around her neck.

Yup, she should have seen this coming. Couldn't blame her for taking advantage of a situation like this one, Ava certainly wouldn't miss an opportunity like that. No, Ava couldn't be upset, but she was thinking of asking Valley for some tips after their match.

Ava would grit her teeth as she squirmed, trying to get into a position where she could breathe a little easier. As she did so, she would bring an arm up to Valley's legs and try to squeeze her fist in between the scissors and her throat, giving herself a bit more breathing room. She'd grab at the champ with her other arm, and begin trying to pry the hold apart.

Valley was a bit busy trying to choke the life out of Ava with her thighs, so this wasn’t the best time for conversation, but she could see a lot of potential in her younger foe. If it hadn’t been for her speed and agility, she’d wager this fight would be going quite a bit different, regardless of the skill gap.  If they left on good terms, she might even tell Ava that later.

For now, she was focused on business.  While her opponent wasn’t freeing herself from the hold, she managed to slip her hand in and create some distance, weakening the effect. Valley had knocked people out with her legs before, but that was always with her Valley Lock, the figure-four headlock from behind. With this, she wasn’t likely to get a tap from Ava or do any lasting damage. Best to rethink this.

Valley gave Ava a final squeeze, then planted her palms on the mat and let go of the hold, flowing out of it and right into a handstand. She brought her legs down, stood up quick, then jerked into a backflip, creating some space between them and landing on the other side of the ring.

She landed in a crouch and rose up with her feet and fists at the ready, basically resetting things as she waited for Ava to rise, as well. It had been a good feeling out process.

Ava gritted her teeth as she felt Valley's legs squeeze around her neck, but at least she had managed to get a hand into the scissors to give herself a bit of breathing room. From here she could take some time, regardless of the pain, and try to figure out a way out. It might be possible for her to just barrel her way out, or overpower Valley and pull her into a hold, or...

Or Valley could just loosen the hold and fly gracefully backwards. The pink haired Canadian turned to watch the champ as she felt one final squeeze, then flip backwards into a handstand, backflip, and land on her feet. Ava found herself frozen for a moment as she watched, only managing to mouth the word "holy..."

Alright, so maybe she was a bit out of her league here. A lot out of her league even, that didn't mean anything. If anything, it just meant that the pink haired Canadian wanted to prove herself more to the crowd tonight. She had a plan as she watched Valley land and crouch into a fighting stance, waiting for her. She'd just have to do something unexpected.

Ava would rise to her feet, bringing her fists up cautiously into a good defensive stance. She'd then take a cautious step towards Valley, then another, then she'd suddenly launch forwards towards the American in an attempt to catch her off guard and spear her in the abdomen, hoping to bring her down to the canvas again.

Now was when things got interesting. More interesting, really.

Valley watched as Ava rose back to her feet and moved into her stance. Some women would’ve let the pressure get to them, would’ve been buckling by the weight on their shoulders - hell, if Valley had this sort of opportunity when she was Ava’s age, she knew that’s what she would be doing. But the Canadian’s visage was solid, and not even her pink hair could take away from it.

Valley kept her smirk on, never wanting to let go of the idea that she was in control here, but underneath she could help but be worried by Ava’s stalwart posture. She was waiting for something, biding her time as she moved in with careful steps, almost daring Valley to strike out and push her back.

Careful, careful, careful…

Ava came in fast, faster than Valley thought she could, and the closeness hardly helped things. At a distance, she would’ve been able to avoid it with ease, but the proximity along with her opponent’s superior size meant that just wasn’t happening. She wound up eating the spear, all the way.

The two of them crashed to the mat with Ava on top, the exact last position she wanted to be. While she wasn’t hurt too bad since there wasn’t much momentum behind the attack, it still knocked the wind out of Valley and left her gasping, before she gathered her wits and begin frantically trying to slide out from underneath the bigger woman.

Ava nearly cheered as she felt herself land the spear on Valley, but she had to stay focused. She'd gotten one good hit in, whoop-de-doo, if she started celebrating each successful attack like she would a won match she'd be laughed out of the league in no time. Still, she couldn't help but grin happily, silently congratulating herself on the successful spear.

Alright, now, it was time to focus. She couldn't waste a second here or the American would undoubtedly figure out some way to turn things around again.

The Canadian's mind raced with possibilities as she clambered onto the champ, trying to hold her opponent down as she felt Valley wiggling beneath her, trying to slide away. She couldn't go for a Surfboard or a Boston Crab, Valley wasn't facing the right way and if she tried to flip her over there was no way she'd be able to hold onto this. Likewise she couldn't really get into a good position for a leg lock, she'd have to flip around and risk letting Valley slip away. But, there was one thing she might be able to get away with.

As fast as she could Ava would make a grab at Valley's arm and try to keep that grip long enough to hold her relatively in place. She'd then attempt to slide into position next to the champ and wrench her arm down while trying to place her legs over the American's chest in an attempt to trap her in an armbar.

So. Ava had her down, and was in a position to capitalize. What now?

That was the question Valley was willing to bet her opponent was hurriedly pondering, as challenger and champion both jockeyed for position. She knew what she would’ve done in the same position - a leglock, maybe the figure-four. Risky, showy, but impressive and effective. And it had been years since she’d gotten the opportunity to cinch in a good figure-four.

Ava, though, seemed a bit more practical. Instead of focusing on Valley’s lower body, she went simpler, easier prey, snatching up her arm instead and going for an armbar. With her weight and position advantage, there was little Valley could do as the Canadian slid into place, got her legs up, and started bending her arm in a way it was never designed to go.

Ava had gotten her. Damn it.

She clamped hard on her teeth to keep her groans from getting too far from her mouth, and leaned towards Ava as she twisted the hold, an attempt to take some edge out of the hold. A temporary measure, at best, but it would do until she thought of something better.

Ava pulled hard at Valley's arm as she pressed her legs down on the champ's torso as she tried to wear the American down. Valley, somewhat predictably though, knew a way to at least mitigate this and leaned into her armbar and twisted, taking some of the edge out of it, and meaning that Ava could never get a submission this way.

While disappointing, Ava could have seen this coming. Valley was far more experienced than she was, and even if the Canadian had more muscle than her opponent, the American had ten times more experience, and that was far more valuable in the ring.

After some brainstorming, the Canadian decided to modify the hold instead of abandoning it all together. Ava would loosen her hold and retract her legs from Valley's torso and try to move them down to her opponent's stomach. If Valley hadn't escaped, she would then pull at Valley's arm again, trying to lift her opponent up just enough that she could slide one leg under her before releasing her arm full and trying to wrap her legs around the blonde in a body scissors.
