[FWC] "Major" Millie Walker vs. Blossom Fields

Millie felt her foot freed from the American's grasp and immediately seized on her freedom by jumping to her feet, glancing over at her opponent quickly to make sure her newfound freedom wasn't a momentary reprieve like last time.

Satisfied that Blossom seemed fairly preoccupied with being doubled over and reeling, Millie turned on her heel, charging straight for the ropes. The Brit was well aware that if she let the American recover she was in real trouble, so she was going to bring out one of her favourite moves early in the hopes putting some hurt on the stronger girl.

And against opponents like this, Millie had to rely on her real strength in the match. Speed.

Turning back to face the American as she flew into the ropes, Millie rebounded and shot forwards like a bat out of hell. As she got closer to Blossom she would leap forwards, hoping that her opponent wouldn't be able to turn around another of her moves, and bring her arms up to where she thought Blossom's head would be in the hopes of hitting the girl with a flying forearm smash.

Okay, taking that kick sucked, but Blossom didn’t see it as a big deal. She was hardier than she appeared at first glance - granted, that hardiness had never helped her rather flaccid WLD ratio. But, still, taking hits had never been her big problem. No, giving as good as she got was the flaw, and one she was hoping to have finally fixed.

She just had to get her bearings back and… ”Huh?”

Blossom had expected Millie to be back on her feet and preparing for a move with her window of opportunity, but she didn’t expect the Brit to do so in such a blindingly fast fashion, ironically showing more speed than her smaller opponent. She was wholly unprepared to have Millie in her face so soon, and the result was predictable.

Blossom had just started to get her arms up when the strike connected, crashing hard into her head. It sent her reeling, dropped her hard on her back, and left her stunned even worse than she’d been a moment ago.

Yeah. The speed thing was going to be a problem. Could already tell.

If Millie were the type to show emotions more openly during a match, she would have smiled after having been able to connect the forearm smash. But, being Millie, the Brit instead just gave a satisfied little nod to herself as she flew through the air after hitting Blossom, then rolled as she hit the mat and ended up on her back by the ropes on the far end of Blossom.

Millie only let herself take a moment to breathe though, she knew if she let the American recover she was in for a world of hurt. Any chance of victory depended on her keeping the pressure up, and Blossom down.

So the Brit jumped back to her feet and immediately started running again. She broke into a run towards the American, jumped over Blossom, and sprinted towards the ropes on the other side. Once there, she would turn and launch herself back off the ropes towards her opponent and would attempt to launch herself at the prone American with an elbow drop to the stomach.

It was big, heavy hitting, and showy. Maybe a little too showy. This would definitely show the crowd that she was a serious wrestler again. She just hoped it wasn't also giving Blossom too much time to recover.

Blossom was stronger than Millie. That much was obvious. You would’ve thought that fact could protect her from being too thrown by something as simple as a forearm, but, well, mass times velocity worked just fine when you had a lot of the latter and not so much of the former.

If you needed any proof of that, all you had to do was look down at Blossom’s fallen form, and watch her role about the mat in a daze.

Millie’s blitzkrieg of an assault left her reeling, and she’d need a moment to get up and recover. Unfortunately, it seemed like she wasn’t getting that moment, a realization that came when she looked out of the corner of her eye and saw Millie approaching for the followup. ”Guh-”

Blossom tried to roll away, but in the end, she was just too slow on the draw. The elbow came crashing down and sliced into her chest, making the smaller wrestler spasm about on the mat, flopping around and covering her chest while she yelped in pain.

This was working. The former pilot could tell by the smaller wrestler's spasm and pained yelps that she was managing to wear the American down. But Blossom's attempted waist lock was still on her mind, she had to keep this up, had to keep the smaller girl down and prevent her from recovering.

The Brit pulled herself back up to her feet, glancing down at her opponent for a moment, then slowly backed up a few steps, giving herself some room. She couldn't let up, couldn't give the other girl a break, not now that she had an advantage. After all, the initiative wasn't given, it was seized.

Millie sprinted forwards suddenly, then as she drew closer to the prone American, launched herself into the air. At the risk of becoming too predictable, the Brit was going with what she knew, and what had proven itself to be effective thus far in the match. As she flew through the air she would look to drop another elbow down onto Blossom's stomach, hoping her opponent was too disoriented to see this one coming.

”Come on, Blossom.” She grumbled as she reeled from Millie’s blow. ”Head in the game, you’ve got this.”

It was easy enough to say that, but demonstrating was a different thing, particularly when she was on the floor, waiting for Millie to go for a pin...or something. That was what she expected her opponent to do in this situation, as she subscribed to the ‘pin early, pin often’ pin over’ school of thought. Millie didn’t attend that school, it seemed, as Blossom could see her gearing up for another elbow drop. Not what she would’ve done, even if she were the sort of person who was inclined to use that move.

Hurt as she was, she was ready now, and more than able to just roll away when Millie went for her second drop, letting the Brit crash into the canvas. She wasn’t content to just leave it at that, either, as she rolled back, reached out, and tried to wrap her arm around Millie’s head, hoping to secure a tight chinlock to weigh her down.

The first big red flag that something had gone wrong was the fact that Millie landed on the canvas of the ring. The Brit writhed as she slammed into the ground, grabbing a hold of her elbow as a spike of pain shot through it. It looked like she had tried to grandstand too much and become too predictable, and had paid the price of losing any advantage she had built up because of it.

The second red flag that things had gone very wrong was Blossom's arm wrapping around her in a chinlock, successfully trapping the Brit. Millie's eyes widened in a panic as she realized that the stronger girl basically had her trapped, and she desperately grabbed at the American's arms as she attempted to wriggle out, but she just couldn't compete in this category. She realized in a terrified moment that she was now basically at the mercy of the stronger girl.

Blossom had a short, triumphant laugh as she snagged Millie with the headlock. Oh, it might not have seemed like much, and on face it wasn’t. But she could recognize the strength of her position easily enough - Millie didn’t seem to be much of a ground wrestler, seemed to like being on her feet. But Blossom was practically designed for this sort of thing, and she was ready to show off.

As Millie struggled, Blossom suddenly switched tact and yanked her around, flipping the taller woman over to her front and sliding over to lay on her back. From there, she let go of the headlock and instead wrapped both hands around Millie’s face, yanking back hard on it.

In short, she was going for a crossface, a painful move that could become a lot more painful if she wished it to be. She doubted Millie would tap out at this early stage, but it was worth a try.

Millie let out a strangled, snarl-sounding noise as she felt a sense of dread descend over her. She was now in what was absolutely her weakest element, and it was going to be hard to claw her way back from this one, while the American seemed to be comfortably playing to her strengths.

But if Millie thought it was bad then, she would find herself in what felt like an even worse position as she found herself lying on her stomach with the American on her back. The Brit would grab at Blossom's arms as she found herself trapped in a crossface and desperately squirmed in an attempt to escape. She had no intention of tapping out yet, the American was putting the pressure on her for sure, and it hurt like hell, but she wasn't near tired enough that she'd even entertain the possibility of submitting to a Yankee this early in the match.

Squirming was sort of an underrated way to respond to a hold, Blossom found. While it wasn’t going to get Millie free of the crossface, it was admittedly making the thing harder to sustain. Everytime she jerked about or twisted, she was forced to readjust the hold, losing a little bit of effectiveness in the process, to the point where it just wasn’t economical to keep the move locked in anymore. The only real choice was to move onto something more effective.

”Okay…” With a quick huff, Blossom swung her legs over Millie’s back and adjusted her position, straddling her from behind. At the same time, she attempted to swap the crossface out, wrapping her arms around Millie’s head and lifting up, trying to stand and force her taller opponent up to her knees.
