[FWC] "Major" Millie Walker vs. Blossom Fields
Standard Match: Victory by pinfall
Millie waited impatiently backstage for her signal to head down to the ring, making use of the down time to do some stretches in preparation for the upcoming match. She was glad that she was back in an actual ring for this match, that last one had... well, upon waking up she had left the apartment and headed straight to a bar so she could drink herself into forgetting the humiliating match. She very much hoped her opponent today hadn't seen it, hearing any kinds of taunts about how she had been knocked out... like that was something she could live without for the rest of her natural life. Unfortunately, she was sure that countless members of the audience had in fact seen it, and that knowledge was making her silently furious. Oh well, there was only one thing for it, and that was to win a crushing victory here this evening and leave no questions about what kind of wrestler she was.
Upon getting the signal that she was up, the former pilot got to her feet and marched down the ramp to her theme song, looking like a proper British soldier straight out of the 1700s in her smart redcoat outfit. The marching came naturally to her, drilled into her very being through years of service, and was the best part of her entrance right up until someone shouted out a comment about her breasts, trying to get a rise out of her. Thankfully for them, the cheering from her other fans gave her something to keep her mind on, ignoring the taunting shouts as she made her way down to the ring, that and the years of drilling to make sure she didn't lose her cool. If it weren't for those two factors she may have turned on the crowd and try to find whoever was shouting comments, but she managed to keep a level head all the same.
Finally in the ring, Millie approached her corner and climbed the turnbuckle, gazing out at the crowd cheering for her, and snapping off a short, smart salute to them. Ignoring another couple of shouted comments, she dropped back down to the ring and turned, crossing her arms and tapping her foot impatiently on the ground as she waited for her opponent's entrance to begin. She wanted to get this match over with fast, and wasn't feeling particularly patient.
As her theme ended and Blossom's entrance began, Millie would just stand there silently, staring blankly ahead and waiting until her opponent finally showed up and they could begin. She felt a bit sorry for the girl, it wasn't her fault that Millie was going to have to crush her, she had just shown up at the wrong time in the very wrong place.

Re: [FWC] "Major" Millie Walker vs. Blossom Fields
The sound of the crowd outside the gorilla position, a rumbling din as they waited for her to appear.
The smell of popcorn in the air, tickling Blossom’s nostrils.
The rush she got before every match, knowing that, in a few minutes, she’d be wrestling with another woman, competing in the ring, giving her all to win the match.
God, it felt good to be back.
Blossom had been away from Friction for a while now, well over a year, every since she dropped out of competition. Things hadn’t gone so good for her when she’d first tried her hand at professionalism, scoring loss after embarrassing loss, becoming a bit of a laughing stock and getting seriously injured multiple times.
It hadn’t been all bad, she’d made good friends in her time on the roster, not the least of whom was Death Bunny - her friend, her lover, her closest confident. But it had been an overall unpleasant experience, and when the opportunity came to became a trainer instead and work on the sidelines, she’d eagerly taken it.
But that all changed when she’d done a match to fill up an empty spot recently, when she’d met the woman named Samiya Kusanagi and suffered a newer defeat, more humiliating than anything from her first run. On paper, she should’ve taken it as a sign to stay away from the ring forever...but this time she refused. She was back to stay now, and she was going to prove that she had what it took to succeed. To herself and to everyone.
Her music - her new music - began and Blossom came out shortly after, clad in her brand new outfit, a little something she’d had made to commemorate the Friction World Cup.
The crowd was Japanese, obviously, but they could respect her national pride, and they gave her some pleasant applause as she made her way down to the ring, slapping hands as she went. She rolled into the ring, bouncing to the music...that was, until she got sight of her opponent. All six feet of her.
”Oh, wow!” Blossom chuckled as she strolled over the Millie’s corner, having to crane her neck further and further back as she approach. While Blossom was used to being the shortest one in the ring, the difference was rarely this stark. ”You’re a tall one, ain’tcha?” She shot out her hand, looking for a shake. ”Blossom Fields. Up for a good match?”
Blossom was all smiles for the moment - she’d get serious when the bell rang, but until then, there was no reason not to start off on a good foot. She knew how hard it could be, coming fresh into the AFW, and it certainly wouldn't hurt Millie to see a welcoming face.

Re: [FWC] "Major" Millie Walker vs. Blossom Fields
As Blossom emerged from backstage, Millie did the only thing she ever did in this situation. The thing that she did best. She stared. She kept her blank, emotionless stare up as her opponent made her way out to the ramp, then down the ramp, then up to the ring, and finally into the ring. The Brit maintained that silent, unnerving stare on her face, seeming looking straight through her opponent right up until the moment Blossom approached her and spoke. Then, and only then, did Millie turn her gaze from looking through the American to actually looking at her.
The Brit's eyes focused on Blossom's face, giving her a wary gaze, then flicked down to her outstretched hand. She stood there for what she was hoping felt like a full minute in an uncomfortable silence as she kept her arms crossed, before she finally, slowly, unfurled her arms and firmly took hold of Blossom's hand.
"Millie Walker," she replied dryly, curtly shaking hands as she moved her gaze back to Blossom's face, staring into her eyes with a fiery intensity. She completely ignored the comment about height, she didn't see much point in confirming her height, and she had learned better than to judge someone by their shape a long time ago. "Chuffed. I'm certainly hoping you won't hold anything back."
After any response her opponent might have had, Millie would release Blossom's hand and silently back into her corner, all the while keeping her gaze fixed on the American like a predator watching its next meal, ready to pounce. Her previous matches had taught her that talk was cheap, and so Millie didn't see any point in saying anything else until the match was over. The two of them could be friendly then if they felt like it, but for now they were here to fight, and that was exactly what the former pilot intended to do.

Re: [FWC] "Major" Millie Walker vs. Blossom Fields
At first, Blossom wasn’t sure what to make of her opponent. The word ‘unnerving’ kept coming to mind, and she couldn’t put a finger one the thing that. She had the whole military look going, but she was fairly certain it wasn’t just that. There was something intangibly off about her, with the way she was looking and moving and staring and not shaking her hand.
For a moment, Blossom thought Millie would leave her hanging, but she eventually got with the program and shook, even speaking a little along with it. Not exactly the most friendly banter, but she’d take it. Even if she had no idea what ‘chuffed’ meant. She assumed it was a good thing.
”Right back at ya.” Blossom gave her a vigorous nod before breaking away at the referee’s urging, taking her place near the center of the ring. ”Love the outfit, by the way. Spiffy.”
She flounced her eyebrows right as the bell rang, and moved down into her classic grappling stance, lowering her knees as she neared Millie. Up went her hands, wide and open, as she drew closer to her opponent, offering up a test of strength to kick things off with.

Re: [FWC] "Major" Millie Walker vs. Blossom Fields
For the first time in the match, Millie smiled. Well, not really smiled, a hint of a smile pulled at the corners of her mouth giving her a mildly amused look, but her eyes lightened for a split second as Blossom complimented her outfit. "Thanks, I like yours too, Yankee." She responded with a slight smirk, her expression returning to its default as the bell rang.
Millie took a step back as she brought her hands up into a defensive stance as she sidestepped her opponent, trying to size the American up as the match began. As Blossom took up a grappling stance, Millie raised an eyebrow. A test of strength? The Brit was well aware of her strengths, and her physical strength was not among them.
But still, the opening was too much to pass up, and she could think of another way to deal with the American using her actual strength. Taking another step back, Millie suddenly kicked off her back foot and broke into a full out sprint towards her opponent. When she got close to Blossom, she would leap at her in the hopes of knocking her off her feet with an attempted Lou Thesz Press.

Re: [FWC] "Major" Millie Walker vs. Blossom Fields
Oh, she was smiling. Always a good sign. While Blossom knew next to nothing about her opponent beyond her being a snappy dresser, she took that little smile as a good sign. It wasn’t an evil or cruel one, like she’d seen far, far too many times. It appeared soft and genuine, small as it was. A sign of someone who would be serious, but at least had some shades of friendliness.
Didn’t mean it would be easy. Blossom didn’t want it to mean that. But it would be fair. She was hoping on that front, anyway.
Millie seemed to hesitate at the test of strength despite her size advantage, and Blossom was wary as she moved back, expecting a little something different. A good thing, too, because that was exactly what she got, as Millie suddenly surged forward and pounced towards her. She barely, just barely had enough time to move out of the way, whipping to the side to avoid the incoming Brit.
Blossom reached and moved behind behind Millie at the same time, trying to catch with a waistlock as she went to the floor. Not a power move by any stretch, but a good way to take hold and control her from the back.

Re: [FWC] "Major" Millie Walker vs. Blossom Fields
Millie cursed to herself in her head as she flew through the air, unable to stop herself while Blossom whipped out to the side, completely dodging her pounce. That wasn't it though, the Brit may not have been in this professional league long enough to know everything, but she did know that having an opponent to your undefended back was always a bad thing.
So as she landed awkwardly on her knee, she sent her hands out to stop herself from face planting onto the mat. As she made contact with the ground she felt the American's arms wrapped around her waist and immediately knew she was in trouble.
The way Blossom's arms squeezed around her told her that this girl had strength to spare. Strength that the Brit was absolutely aware she could not compete with. Her hands snapped to the American's arms anyways, dropping her down onto the mat, as she tried to twist and pry her way out of the hold by any means necessary. In a match like this the former pilot would be in real trouble if she wasn't able to use her speed, and she was very aware of that.

Re: [FWC] "Major" Millie Walker vs. Blossom Fields
Blossom was already ducking her head to the side, expecting elbows to start flying her way after scoring the waistlock. That was the typical way it went, in her experience - most AFW wrestlers didn’t have a big technical background, so when things like this came up, they tended to go for the strikes, which were easy enough to avoid with her height. One of the rare times being short was a blessing.
But Millie was smarter than that. She got up and focused on the real source of her problems, the arms, and while she wasn’t quite strong enough to power her way out, it would make going for anything with it more trouble than she wanted.
So she opted for a different tactic. Blossom gave up the hold, abruptly letting go and releasing Millie. It was going to be a short reprieve, though, as she moved down and tried to wrap both of her arms around the Briton’s right leg instead, looking to pull her back towards the center of the ring and continue working from there.

Re: [FWC] "Major" Millie Walker vs. Blossom Fields
Millie hadn't been expecting the American to let go of her so easily there. Sure, she may have been giving the smaller girl everything she had, but she was still expecting her to put up more fight than that at least, it made her wary of what came next, causing the Brit to attempt to dash forwards in an escape.
And it turned out she had been right to expect something. Millie had maybe gotten her arm and leg in position to take off when she felt Blossom grab hold of her leg and drag her back, causing Millie to flop down on her stomach as she was pulled back down to the mat.
The former pilot wasn't sure what the American had in store for her in the centre of the ring, and to be perfectly honest she didn't want to find out. Twisting as much as she could to face away from the mat, Millie would struggle as much as she could, kicking at Blossom in the hopes that it might cause her to drop the hold.

Re: [FWC] "Major" Millie Walker vs. Blossom Fields
Blossom did, in fact, have a plan on what to do with Millie in the middle of the ring...or a blueprint, if you wanted to be more accurate about it. Basically, it involved her suplexing the Brit, then lifting her up and suplexing her again, then doing it one more time for good measure, and slapping on a submission hold to make her tap out. Barebones, but she saw potential.
Unfortunately, she needed to get past step 1 for the rest of it to work, and she was having some difficulty with that. Millie fought like a bucking bronco, refusing to be tamed, and it all proved too much before Blossom had the chance to pull the trigger.
Instead of a successful suplex, she got a kick to the gut for her troubles, one that took her by surprise and doubled her over, forcing her to let go of the hold while she reeled. Millie was a stubborn woman, Blossom had to give her that, and while she could imagine ways to make that work against her, none of them were currently viable.
