Julia Knight vs Starlight

Tabitha's punches grew annoying but predictable as Julia was able to time it so that she moved in and nailed her with a solid punch to the ribs and force the girl backwards giving the redhead more to work with, if she could pin Tabitha to the ropes she could work on the girl with much more force and wear her down with punches that could do away with the experience edge she had over her. Though implementing this idea became difficult as the kickboxer started to take advantage of the fact that her legs were a viable to be used here and she started firing kicks. "Wow your not a fan of close contact are ya?"

Once again she was forced to keep back from moving in by a few good attacks as she could get Julia once again grew annoyed at being held back and tried to move in, using one hand to try and block Tabitha's leg she would move in and send a straight jab into Tabitha's chest before bringing her own leg up to knee her belly.

"Well, I figure its not quite time to just hug it out now is it?" Starlight would quip back as Julia was starting to get the advantage in the first round so far. Starlight would recover in short order as Julia was unable to follow up, but it would end up putting her back in danger as the pattern was too narrow making Starlight very predictable with what she was going to do.

Seeing that Julia was again making another attempt at getting in close, Starlight would throw a front kick but was countered in short order as Julia sidestepped it with ease this time. Now with Julia inside of Starlight's comfort zone, Starlight would start to raise her guard but Julia had other plans as she attacked Starlight's now mostly undefended body. Starlight was able to block the punch aimed at her chest with the bottom part of her arms and elbows, but Starlight was almost stunned in place as she would let out an "Oooffph.." when Julia landed the knee flush into Starlight's belly.

Depending on what Julia wanted to do, Starlight was almost up against the ropes again. Julia could try to push her back or do almost anything that she had in mind as Starlight seemed to be stunned by the wind being taken out of her sails for a time being.

"No but keeping me away isn't working in your favor either." Julia said with a grin as she was able to get in close once more despite Tabitha's efforts impressive as she was at keeping her distance but now that she was in close she was able to start off another barrage of offense, though her arm was blocked she was cut off from blocking the knee to the girls stomach which pushed her further backwards.

"Lets test your endurance a little bit shall we?" she said as she was now in close and in control of a stunned opponent her mind drifted to all her options before she sent a right hook at Tabitha's head to keep her stunned before digging not one, not two, but three uppercuts into Tabitha's bely to drive her further back into the ropes where she could work on her to her hearts content.

Starlight was getting the worst of it for certain in the first round. Taking another 3 solid shots to her gut, Starlight would almost instantly crumble down to the canvas as she took a knee from the barrage that Julia had unleashed on her. Certainly not in any real trouble, Starlight just needed the time afforded by the 8 count to right herself so that she might be able to make something out of whatever time was left in the round. When the referee had signaled the fight to continue, both Starlight and Julia could hear the timer outside the ring slap the mat twice to signal that there was only about 10 seconds left in the first round.

Starlight simply wanted to try to keep Julia away from her for the last few seconds and try to survive the round.

The redheads eyes lit up as she saw the punches send Tabitha down on one knee so that the ref would break them apart. She had gotten the first fall! But..it felt so bittersweet, Tabitha clearly used it just to get her to back off as Julia herself could tell that she was far from done, which blew that lead she did so well at getting as she now had to work for the edge again. Great, just great.

Also the round was just about up so the second she got to her feet Julia would do the only thing that she could do with the short time she had, move in and start swinging, maybe that way she could get some hits in and weaken Tabitha further before the bell ended things for them.

Having taken the easy way out of sorts and saved herself from any real damage, Starlight was ready to make a bid to try to send a message to her opponent at the end of the round. There was little time left but that would not stop either from trying to make a point that could possibly echo through to the next round. Even though this round was all but lost, Starlight knew it really did not matter as losing a battle would not cost her the war.

Maybe Julia being less experienced could be taken advantage of? It looked like she was about to try to come in and unload on Starlight with everything that Julia had, so the ideal thing would be to attempt to exploit any opening she could. Maybe Julia would get a little wild with a punch so that Starlight could duck under and land a counter to the body? Anything Starlight could try to send a message to Julia that this was not over, not by a long shot, she would try to do in the closing seconds of the round.

Annoyed that Tabitha simply dropped Julia wanted to really get to work on her once she stood up again. Hoping that an opening would present itself that would allow her to wear her down she began throwing punches aiming for Tabitha's chest and face. Though during her attack she was surpised by her opponent quickly ducking under her arms and sending a jab aimed at her side.

"Orggh!" she groaned and took a stepback from in annoyance. Her hand lowered to protect herself before she was forced back by the bell ending the round. Letting out a sigh she backed up further and went to her corner, knowing she had won the round but not in the fashion that she would have liked.

Starlight would get an opportunity as Julia would somewhat predictably charge forth. Landing one good shot before the bell rang to end the round, Starlight would hopefully have sent a bit of a message to her opponent that she was nowhere near done yet. Starlight could see that Julia was somewhat angered that she had the advantage in the first round but could not properly take advantage of it. It might well be that Starlight found a way in which she could leverage her opponent by simply frustrating her into making another mistake in the next round.

As things stand right now, Starlight clearly lost the round but there were no judges scoring the fight at all since this was a battle to the finish and keeping score was not really necessary on any level. One would be left standing while the other would be knocked out when this match was over. With this first battle lost, Starlight would look to see how she could try to win the war still going into the next round.

Once she was in her corner she took the time to calm herself down. She couldn't afford to get frustrated over this and let Tabitha take control due to being more experienced then her she was less likely yo let go once she did so. To due this Julia took deep breathes in the corner to keep her mind at ease and began to ace around and let the next round start.

"I'm going to finish what I started in that corner Tabitha." she said as she waited out the rest of the break a confident smile on her face and a teasing tone in her voice. She still wanted to keep things relatively friendly for now.

"You're welcome to try.." Starlight would quip back as she would stare down Julia on the other side of the ring. It would look like Julia was trying to calm herself down in between the rounds so that would mean that Starlight struck a chord and might be able to manipulate her opponent. Looking into things on her own end, Starlight felt alright since she saved herself a good bit of damage by tactically taking a knockdown to save herself from being in a vulnerable spot when Julia caught her in the first round. Maybe constantly attempting to frustrate Julia would be the path Starlight needed to take?

Now that the round break was done however, Starlight would move into the middle and meet Julia for the start of round two when the bell rang.
