Seraphim and Minerva

Minerva's eyes widened as Seraphim approached. She was glad that she wasn't going to be scolded for being so hapless and sighed inwardly. She dropped them to the ground when Seraphim told her and her tiny mouth fell open as she nodded. She was glad that she would be spared the embarrassment of having Seraphim put the glove on her.

She looked curiously at Seraphim when she dug into her pockets and her little eyes lit up when she pulled out a pack of cigarettes. Before she could even say anything she watched as Seraphim put one in her mouth and gave her the instructions. Subconsciously, Minerva balled her uninjured fist and her little bbrow furrowed. If one payed attention they could see Minerva even quiverin and like a cute little geyser, when Seraphim was finished, she burst.

"Sera-san!" She yelled with as much of a scolding tone as she could muster. "That is bad bad bad!" She stamped her little foot disapprovingly. "I hope those aren't yours!" A look of disappointment and motherly anger in her eyes. "I... I... Those are so bad for you!" She zipped forward towards Seraphim with a surprising speed. Much faster than Minerva seemed to be capable of, though still not entirely impressive by most's standards. She reached up with the intent of snatching the cigarette right from Seraphim's mouth.

When Minerva yelled like that, Seraphim actually went tense for a moment, her eye widening when the petite girl actually managed to raise her voice like that. Even when she was mad, the girl was still adorable, and as she started to try scold Seraphim it was actually kind of hard to take Minerva seriously. Her cutness factor was actually a bit of a weakness.

Then, Minerva dashed at her, and Seraphim was actually mildly impressed, smirking a little in the corner of her lips, deciding to taunt the girl further. Her hands remained in her pockets, and Seraphim managed to quickly sidestep, causing Minerva to miss only by a few inches. She was surprisingly quick that time, but Seraphim was already on her guard, and backed away. "And what if they are mine?" She said with a bit of a taunt, even sticking the heel of her sneaker out as she backed away, attempting to trip Minerva to make this more interesting.

Minerva was so close that she thought she had almost yanked the cigarette out of Minerva's hand. She was slightly crestfallen when she saw Minerva zip away. For Minerva it was less about the training and more about worrying for Seraphim. This probably helped her do the training better though. She stumbled when she tripped against Seraphim's foot and nearly lost her balance. She looked up only to see Seraphim taunting her further.

Her fists balled up and she began to shake as she glared at Seraphim. "That's not funny Sera-San!" Minerva yelled. Even thought Seraphim wasn't technically laughing. "Those are bad for you! T-They can kill you!" She was having a hard time even expressing herself, her cute little cheeks were puffed out and her bear ears were standing on end. "And they're gross!" She stuck her tongue out to emphasize and then once again dashed towards Seraphim to try and steal the cigarette away.

Not funny? Jeeze, the look at how she ran around and got so worked up about this whole thing, it was absolutely hilarious! Even if it was about something so true, Seraphim didn't let it bother her. The cigarettes were one of her few stress releivers. It was either this or let it out physically by beating someone to a pulp, so this was for the best.

"Gross? Not really, in fact- whoa! Close one there! Heh-heh~" Once again, Seraphim leapt back, this time stepping backwards in a few small leaps, nearing the edge of the roof without realizing it. Minerva was getting closer though, in fact, she was on her way to getting it at this rate. Her hands never escaping her pockets and her white locks of hair fraying out in a beautiful motion, Seraphim was quick on her feet, but Minerva was really trying and keeping Seraphim on her toes.

"ewwww!" Minerva wrinkled her nose when Seraphim when she said that cigarettes weren't gross. Though she wouldn't hold it against Seraphim for any reason, she would still do anything she could to try and get her to quit. Stress relief, in Minerva's eyes at least, was not a good enough reason to do something that could kill you. Her near misses did not stop her as her small body continued to chase after Seraphim, reaching out to snatch it away each time she got close. Her little body was panting, subconsciously her mouth had opened but she was too concerned with the task at hand to even notice.

For Minerva, she was helping out her friend, heping out her family and that was more important than her being a little exhausted. "They are gross and stinky Sera-San!" She whined again. "And.. and.. sooo bad for you!"

As Seraphim continued to try avoiding Minerva, she was quickly getting closer and closer to the edge of the roof. Seraphim didn't admit it, but aside from her poor skill in delivering submissions, her other weakness was being aware of her enviroment as she fought. She was good at using it as she ran, practically studying parkour and urban running thanks to Alison, and even using her surroundings in a fight like slamming people into the wall, turnbuckle, and so on. But, when she was in a conflict, Serpahim's general attention was on her opponent, not the surroundings. And that was why Seraphim was lead into what happened next.

She was laughing and giggling at Minerva's antics, finding the girl to be absolutely amusing as her tongue was hanging out and she panted for breath. In the end, she was always adorable and cute no matter what happened. But, as Seraphim went to avoid the final snatch, she found the back of her heel stepping on nothing but air, and her eye widened as she gasped in surprise and a bit of fear, realizing what that meant.

Minerva would finally snatch the sweet, chocolate scented cigarette from Seraphim's lips, but as that happened, Seraphim started to fall back, the entire moment seeming to go in slow motion. Her left foot slipping off the edge, the white-haired fighter started to fall from the edge, both hands lashing out as she wanted to grab something, anything, but in moments, she started to fall, and if Minerva wasn't quick enough Seraphim was going to have a four story fall with a deadly ending.

Minerva was so focused on the task at hand that she payed now attention to her surroundings. The diminutive redhead darting after the bigger white haired girl, not perturbed when she failed to reach the cigarette like she usually would be if she had not succeeded at a task.

When she finally snatched the cigarette, her eyes widened and a sly smirk came across her face. "Ha!" She said triumphantly, pumping her fist. Her joy didn't last long as she saw Sera was not reacting but loosing her balance. Minerva's heart dropped to her feet as she seemed to watch in slow motion as well. "No!" She cried out. She didn't feel like she could move her body but for some reason it moved on its own.

She dashed towards Seraphim and reached out to grab whatever she could, catching one of Seraphim's arms with both hands. "nnnnnnn!" She grunted as she tried to hold on. Minerva was already exhausted and even if she was at full strength she would probably have a hard time holding up Seraphim. She could already feel her grip slipping as tears fell from her face. "Sera-San..." She cried out. "Please dare me to save you! I can't hold you like this!" She cried out the words as her grip slipped a little more.

'Oh-crap-oh-crap-oh-crap! H-How the Hell could I..? No-no! This isn't happening! I... I can't.. it just can't go down like this. I'm better than this...' Was this... fear? She hadn't felt this in a long time, not since she had nearly broken her own sanity from post-traumatic-stress, but this... this was truly life or death. How could she be so stupid and careless!? 'I... I can't die. No way, this is just...' Hanging on only by Minerva's grip, just one arm lingering in the girl's hands, like her only thread between life and death. Seraphim's eye was truly widened in fear, not daring to look down as she looked up, horrified as it met with Minerva's eyes. [/i]'Minerva... don't let go. Dear god just[/i] please don't let go!'

"No! Y-You can do this!" She suddenly shouted out, her breath pent up, slowly trembling as she tried to balance her options. "On your own, you don't need me to dare you! Mine-chan, y-you're better than that. You.. you c-can, I know it!" Finally, Seraphim regained her own confidence. She didn't know what it was, but or some reason, she wasn't afraid. She had faith in Minerva, suddenly getting a sharp look in her eye, smiling up at Minerva despite the sweat pouring from he brow and the involentary shaking in her body. Even though physically she was somewhat frightful, the look on her face was as confident as ever, like she had a feeling, no, she knew Minerva could do it. Right now, she was putting her life in Minerva's hands, and she trusted her more than anything.

Minerva was shaking as she held onto Seraphim. For a moment her eyes were closed and even though they were shut tightly, there were tears still seeping through them. I... " She managed and tried to pull, her weak arms barely moving the larger woman. "I... can't!" She whined. "My arms hurt... I don't want you to die." She sobed until hshe felt her grip slip a little, her hands clamping down on Seraphim's wrist even tighter. If Seraphim would fall, Minerva was going to make sure that she went with her. At least she could do that much, but for now she still held strong.


Minerva was shocked to hear Seraphim say she could do it on her own. Her eyes widened but she didn't look down. SHe struggled again and managed to Get Seraphim a few inches higher. "I can't... please just dare me..." She looked down with tears in her eyes again when she saw something that shockedher. Seraphim was... smiling? Why would she be smiling? She didn't understand. She thinks I can do it really? No. She knows! I am the one who doesn't know! She thought and began to pull with all of her strength. She began to pull and inch by inch Seraphim slowly began to be raised back up to the roof.

Anyone would have found Seraphim to be absolutely crazy to be laughing at this sort of situation; as if bring on the brink of death didn't even phase her. And in truth, after the initial shock, it didn't seem to bother her any further. Once you were at Deaths Door enough times, the thought of finally stepping through it didn't frighten you as much. In fact, Seraphim didn't mind the thought of dying soon, but she certainly wasn't going out like this, not until she finished what she had to do in this world, and not until she gave every ounce of her strength.

"Heh.. I won't die." She said with her smile still there, suddenly sounding casual about this, even as the sweat poured down her skin and she was still trembling, the thought of it didn't seem to bother her anymore. It was actually... kind of amusing. Like she looked Death in the eye, flipped him the middle finger, and got away with it.

As Minerva started to pull her up, Seraphim continued to cheer her on, starting to reach her other arm as she got closer to the edge, trying to pull herself up once she had the chance. "That's it.. just a little more Mine-chan." Trying to keep her calm, Seraphim found herself just a few moments later meeting the ledge, and she imediattly grabbed it with her other hand, starting to pull herself up. In a sudden yank with all of Minerva's help, Seraphim practically shot forth onto the roof, flopping on to her back as she was just happy to feel the roof beneath her. She lied there for a few moments, panting, her chest rising and falling quickly as her arms and legs were spread out to her side, and once again, she laughed! Gazing at the sky, trying to catch her breath, Seraphim started to laugh aloud, still smiling after what just happened, like the whole thing amused her so much, and it was too funny to hold it in.
