Seraphim and Minerva

It had only been minutes since the match Seraphim had 'defeated' Minerva in, but more than anything, it felt like a victory for the both of them. 'If only father Maxwell was around to hear this...' She had promised herself she'd make him roud and follow his ways, and slowly but surely, ever since she had let prison, Seraphim was doing all she could to uphold that promise, Minerva being one of the people she followed it through with.

"..Thanks, I.. I'm glad you feel that way. It means a lot to me to hear that." Seraphim finally admitted, softly rubbing Minerva's back as she was hugged by the petite girl, but then releasing her so she could sit on the bench with her and talk just a little to her. There were so many question she had to ask, and she was hoping that now that they were here together and outside the ring, they would have that chance.

"Hey.. Mine-chan? Why... why are you here if you don't like to fight exactly? You tried to explain but... I still don't understand it. If you don't like getting hurt or fighting, then it doesn't make sense to see an innocent and cute girl like yourself here." Softly, Seraphim rested her hand on the girl's shoulder as they sat beside one another, and Seraphim stayed close to her, asking her question with the utmost curiousity as her crimson eye met with a gentle gaze at Minerva.

When Minerva released from the hug, she smiled and stuck out her tongue a little and reached out her hand and ruffled Seraphim's hair affectionately. "Sera-San, I am glad she can smile." She said as she took a seat next to Seraphim. Minerva swung her feet and tilted her head as Seraphim said her name. Her wide eyes listened intently to the question. she then blushed and lowered her head. "I know Sera-San would never take advantage of Mine-chan so she will tell her. Lethe-chan was a bully in our neighborhood and when my friends and I saw her once, they dared of to become her friend." She spoke the next part softly. "She beat me up pretty badly..." She was not deterred as she spoke with renewed vigor. "But I found out she was a wrestler so I came here! and after a while, probably to get rid of me, she dared me to win just one match." She looked up at Seraphim. "I... if someone dares me to do something I have to do it." She lowered her head. "Go ahead, dare me to do anything." She whispered somberly.

Every reaction she got from this girl was either adorable, or just plain cute. Seraphim still found it hard to beleive that such a precious young girl would ever be in the ring, even if she was just a kawaii, but then as her hand remained on Minerva's back rubbing it softly, she knew that this girl really was here, putting herself through something she really shouldn't be.

Seraphim listened to Minerva's reasons, and almost laughed at it. Even her reasoning was rather adoring, and she found nothing but an innocent approach from this girl. She really did this just to appease some girl's challenge?

...Wait a second. That name... 'Lethe.' Where had Seraphim heard it before...? It was at the edge of Seraphim's mind, and now she knew it would be something she needed to look into later, but for now, Seraphim put such thoughts aside and promised herself to look it up later. Especially after what Minerva said next.

"Anything at all...?" Seraphim said, finding that she was -definettly- going to pocket that little fact for later if she ever needed to use it to her advantage. It seemed a little odd, but Seraphim didn't see Minerva as the type to lie. Then, she saw oppurtunity knocking, and Seraphim couldn't resist, a subtle, deviant and dark grin coming to her lips as she turned towards Minerva, looking at her with such an expression.

Then, with nothing but a serious resolve in her tone, Seraphim's crimson eye met with Minerva's as she spoke, changing the gentle aura to something a bit more tense. "Then I dare you to hit me. Hit me as hard as you can."

"Hai..." She said meekly as Seraphim asked. She sulked half listening to the next thing the white haired beauty said. When it hit her, her eyes widened. "No! Please not that!" She screamed but suddenly went silent. Her pupils dialated and she stood up. She took a few steps until she was standing in front of Seraphim. Her face was serious looking. Her body looked both stiff and loose and her fists clenched into an almost expert form. She then pulled one of her legs back and bent her knees. She stood motionless for a few moments before snapping her fist forward in a manner that seemed impossible for someone of her stature.

After her dare was stated, Seraphim watched over the adoring schoolgirl with extreme interest, taking note of the sudden change. It was amazing actually, despite her protest, Minerva snapped to attention like a soldier standing before a drill seargant. Her form was good, her fists seemed clenched correctly unlike before, and she put everything she had into her punch, it looked as a beautiful as a rose, but as deadly as poison. When she lunged for her attack, Seraphim didn't jerk back in fear, there was no moment she flinched or cringed, she didn't even defend herself. No, Seraphim just grinned, she smiled with expectations, wanting the hit to connect as she turned her cheek just enough so the blow would hit her on the right side of her face.

And then, with an audable impact, Minerva's fist hit right in the soft tissue of Seraphim's pale cheek. Seraphim could tolerate pain better than anyone else in this league, finding pain to be her best friend, and agony to be her roomate, as she grinned a little more after the blow connected, her head turned a bit more to the side from the attack. But she didn't even show any signs of it hurting, even though she knew how powerful the attack was.

"Good... very good. It's nice to know Mine-chan can throw a punch if she needs to."

Then, taking Minerva completely off guard, curious if this state of hers packed as good of a defense as an offense, Seraphim went for a surprise attack of her own, rising from the bench and stepping into Minerva's space all in one motion.

"Now. My turn!" Seraphim would send her fist low into Minerva's gut, not wanting to hurt her gentle and cute face, instead thrusting right into her stomach with a blow as powerful as a cannonshot, enough to knock down most opponents in a single blow. Seraphim didn't like the idea of hurting Minerva, and she didn't want this to change anything between them, but she had to test something, just to make sure that attack wasn't just a fluke...

As soon as the punch hit, Minerva's eyes widened and she shook her head. "Oh..." She said as Seraphim was speaking. "I'm so sorry Sera-" She froze as she saw Seraphim throw her punch. "B-but..." Was all she could mutter as the fist rank deep into her stomach. She was sent reeling backwards and fell to her knees clutching her stomach and gasping and coughing. "W-why... Sera...San..." Tears welled up in her eyes and she began to cry.

Seraphim watched in a moment of silence to see Minerva's reaction, and soon her eye widened when she noticed the girl begun to cry, proving Seraphim's theory wrong. She had thought the girl might possess some hidden strength, the way she reacted to that dare, it was something Seraphim wanted to try drawing out, hoping she could use it defensively too. But as she saw those tears, she immediattley realized that this wasn't the case, and Seraphim quickly got up from the bench and rushed over to her.

"I-I'm sorry Mine-chan, I thought you would dodge or..." She trailed off, not even bothering to make excuses as she knelt down before Minerva, one hand on her back, rubbing slowly, while the other was over Minerva's hands by her stomach, hoping to try and help her shake away the pain. Seeing her cry like that made Seraphim's stomach turn into a knot, and she didn't want to see anything like that from Minerva, she didn't deserve getting hurt. Still... Seraphim really thought that the girl would have been able to take it or dodge. So then.. what was that attack from before and where did it come from?

Minerva continued to cry, curling into a ball even as Seraphim approached. She cringed when she was touched and shrugged Seraphim off of her. She turned and looked at Seraphim with fear and sorrow. "W-why..." She balled her fist, but unlike last time, the fist was poorly made and the punch that followed packed such meager force that it bounced harmlessly off of Seraphim's shoulder. Minerva then wrapped her arms around Seraphim and began to cry against her neck. "I-I thought I could trust Sera-San. W-why did s-she make me do something so terrible and then punish m-me for doing it. She was just taking advantage of Mine-chan once she learned her secret like everyone else." She devolved into sobbing against Seraphim's neck.
