Vida Fenix Vs. Belinda Northman: Submission Match

This was going to be a rather interesting night. Belinda couldn't say she had actually been in a submission match before...though she did have a pretty sweet submission move which she had made for the specific reason to try and beat her long biggest rival and lover...Akiha. So it wasn't like she wasn't capable of doing submission matches. This would probably be fun, right ? Even then she was not to sure about her opponent...not that she didn't seemed like she'd be fun and all, but she had honestly not heard very much about Vida Fenix. Though she hadn't heard about a lot of people she had faced and they had turned out to be really good and skilled opponents who provided her with good matches. She just had to hope that Vida would be a kind opponent...so she didn't have to deal with anymore mean girls...

She stood already dressed in her blue and silver colored wrestling attire, her iconic ring gear which she quite enjoyed a fair bit over her former ring gear. Though she could think of switching either of them around whenever she wanted to...she did prefer the slightly more professional tone that this attire carried. Though it was a fair bit more....uuuh...revealing. Still, it looked cute on her.

Soon she was called towards the gorilla position which she went towards, her eyes focused and her body more than ready for a match tonight. She stepped out onto the area ahead of the curtains and remained there up until her music started to play out of the speakers. As soon as it hit the ears of the crowd cheers already started. Belinda was steadily rising up to be a rather good name in the brand as the up and coming face wrestler. If she stayed on track she'd probably go far and that was her every intent! She started to jog down the ramp, giving a few high-fives to the crowd as she made her way towards the ring. Diving in under the bottom ropes she quickly jumped up and ran up towards the far off corner, climbing up to the second ropes swiftly and extending her right arm as far as she could up into the air. " Let's reach for the stars!!" She called out before she'd turn around and drop down onto her feet, turning towards the ramp to keep her eyes on it. Just awaiting her opponent now.

Backstage, Vida Fenix was prepping for her next match. Making certain that her gold ring gear was fitting just right, pressing her hands against the wall to make certain she could fit in last-minute stretches. Any minute now, the road agents were going to send her out onto the entrance ramp, ready for another contest to test her skills against another worthy opponent.

Vida had been facing off against numerous opponents, over recent months. Anything she could do to get as much experience as she could. Those "experiences" weren't exactly adding up to a lot of wins, but Vida was doing her best to learn, even in loss. And tonight's match, a submission match against a veteran, was definitely going to be a learning experience. Hopefully, one that Vida could parlay all of that experience into- if she could pull off an upset win here, the latina rookie could only imagine how much that would help her career!

Finally, she got the signal to head out. With an energetic jump, Vida burst out onto the ramp. Jumping up and down with a massive grin for the audience, she was welcomed warmly. The svelte, sprightly young woman was becoming something of a crowd favorite, despite her win/loss record- her upbeat attitude and "never say die" spirit made many in the crowd hope to see that eventual win, one of these nights.

Vida bounced down the entrance ramp, to the ring. Running up the steel steps, Vida flashed a peace sign at the crowd. She grinned, tossing her close-cropped black hair over her head as she cocked her head. Vida took a firm grip on the top rope, and used it to vault over the top rope. Raising her hands to the crowd for one last thank you, Vida leaned back and arched her spine into one final stretch. She was a petite young woman, svelte and perky, with a great build for a high-energy, high-flying style. With the match being a technical, submission-based contest, however, Vida knew she was going to have her work cut out for her. Extending a hand to Belinda, Vida flashed her a smile. "Let's have a good contest," she said, "may the best girl win!"

Belinda looked up and saw as her opponent for the evening as the golden clad wrestler came rushing out towards the ring and looked as if she was a rather energetic one, running around in a speedy manner and even had a rather flashy entrance. The blond cutie was no slouch when it came to high-flying antics but she was leagues below this Vida Fenix it would seen.

That didn't bother Belinda all that much though, she figured she'd do her best in this match regardless and fight in the way that she felt was the best way for her. She didn't need to compete with others in their own element....though she would be lying if she denied that fact that the notion of competing against Vida using high-flying moves made her excited.

When Vida came up towards her and extended that hand the blond would step up and firmly take on that handshake and flash a bright friendly smile of her own. Perfect! She had drawn a friendly opponent tonight. " Yeah, let's!" Belinda nodded as she would then proceed to give Vida light nod. " Names Belinda, Belinda Northman. I'll be going all out as usual, so I hope you are prepared." Belinda said with her friendly smile as she'd start to pull back her hand from the handshake.

Vida's grin widened massively, as Belinda took her hand firmly and gave it a good shake. Vida had her share of uncharitable, opportunistic and downright disrespectful opponents, in AFW. It seemed like tonight was going to be something a bit different, and she was grateful for that. She nodded affimatively, smiling with confidence. "I will!" she promised, with a grin.

Breaking off the handshake, Vida backed off, and took a low stance, while she waited for the bell. When it finally sounded, the latina rookie would lunge forward, extending a hand. She wanted to reach behind Belinda's knee, trying to take her leg out from under her with a quick shoot, put the blonde on her back and try to work her over from there. Vida suspected that her opponent would want her to go fast, lots of motion right off the bat. Vida tried to mix it up, going for something simple and technical, instead.

If she could manage to get Belinda down, that way, Vida would hook the leg, try to keep control of the match. If not, she'd back off, hopefully able to defend herself from whatever Belinda would throw her way in response. Vida was still testing the waters, not sure what to expect from Belinda. Mainly, the rookie just wanted to keep from embarrassing herself.

Once the two of them had broken off their handshake and backed off it was just a matter of time for the two, soon they would clash and it would turn out to be fun, at least Belinda hoped so. Unlike many women that Belinda faced here in AFW the young girl in front of her seemed to be a fairly kind one.

The young blond was slightly surprised by the speed at which Vida came in at once the bell sounded and she was half-expecting her to jump up into some kind of dropkick or the like just because of it...she was not prepared for the tan-skinned girl to go down low and basically yank her footing right out from under her. Causing the young blond to topple over like a tree which had just been cut by a lumberjack.

Falling down onto her rear, with one hand pressing down against the mat behind her back to keep her from going down onto her back completely.  The young blond would swiftly try and bring her free leg up and press her foot against Vida's chest to try and give it a hard shove to get her away from the Swede.

The crowd reacted with a start, as Vida managed to take the more experienced blonde down to the mat. Vida had exploded, right off the bell, but she'd done so with enough control to be just as effective as she was quick! The latina rookie couldn't help but grin, as she heard the blonde Swede go down!

Not wanting to miss a beat, Vida went to press her advantage. Keeping her hand gripped firmly around Belinda's leg, Vida rose up and stepped around, looking to get her prone opponent twisted as quickly and efficiently as she could into a withering submission hold as she could. Unfortunately, Belinda was far from a rookie, herself, and not one easily taken advantage of! As Vida stepped forward, she felt Belinda's boot shove hard into her soft chest. "Oow!" Vida let out, getting pushed back hard by Belinda's powerful leg.

Releasing the leg, Vida rolled back with the shove, going down to her back before rolling around back to her boots. Shaking her head, Vida tried to get herself back into a low stance, ready to grapple again with the Northman girl, when she managed to get up. Unfortunately, twisting herself back into position would take a moment, and in that time there was no telling exactly what Belinda would be able to get herself into position to throw at her.

Pushing Vida back was enough for Belinda right now as she didn't want to be taken down and taken advantage off right at the beginning of the match. She was able to shove the speedy Latina back and watched her roll with the shove over onto her knees. Belinda was quick to push herself up as well and move up to her feet.

She waited for Vida to balance herself back up towards her feet and get into a firm stance, before she herself readied for a grapple. Moving her arms up the young blond would attempt to step in for a quick collar and elbow lock up with the raven haired combatant.

Attempting to lock them up for a little well....lock-up, and with it Belinda would attempt to push forward, attempting to force Vida back step by step towards the ropes.

The crowd popped, seeing both girls back on their feet and squaring off. Thus far, it looked like this was going to be a rather fast-paced, technical match. Vida couldn't help but swallow nervously, however, hoping that she could keep pace with Belinda's skill. Vida didn't want to let the fans down, and she certainly couldn't let the Northman girl humiliate her here, tonight!

When Belinda stepped in for the elbow-and-collar, Vida met it readily. Slower than Vida's usual wrestling pace, the youthful rookie did her best to adapt. Vida wanted to prove the stereotype of lucahdoras being all flips and jumps wrong, but it was still an adjustment.

However, the young Northman woman had plans beyond the elbow and collar tie up, and those plans blindsided Vida. "Oh!" she exclaimed, as Belinda pushed into the lock and started pushing in. Vida's body trembled a bit, as she struggled against Belinda to no avail. "Rrgh," Vida grunted, as she felt herself getting edged closer and closer to the ropes. Knowing she didn't have much time, Vida took a last-ditch effort to throw a curveball at her opponent. Turning on her heel, Vida spun to one side; adjusting her grip on Belinda's shoulders, Vida kicked out one leg, hoping that Belinda's forward momentum would push her forward and allow the young latina to turn their lock-up into a side headlock! If that failed, Vida would be left stumbling, vulnerable to whatever Belinda would do next; Vida simply hoped that the headlock would stick, and prove to be worth the risk.

Belinda and Vida met not too far off from the center of the ring in their lock up and with it the blond quickly managed to show which of them was the stronger wrestler as she pushed back further and further on Vida, forcing the Latina back more and more with each passing second....now that they weren't all too far away from the ropes though the young blond attempted one final strong push to send Vida into the ropes...

However, that didn't exactly happen. The raven haired girl was quick on her feet and turned around in a rather gracious manner before snapping her arm around Belinda's head and pushing her face up against the girl's ribs and side of her generous chest. Belinda let out a slightly muffled groan as her hands were trying to find a way out of the hold, going up towards Vida's arm, then her back...slowly finding their way down. " Nh..let...go!" Belinda let out as she'd try and wrap her arms around Vida's waist and with a powerful yank upwards she'd try and toss Vida back with a backdrop suplex!

As Vida shifted her position, astute fans likely noticed the look of shock on her face as she caught Belinda in the side headlock. Clasping a hand around her wrist, Vida quickly started to wrench on the hold, happy to have taken some control of the match before Belinda could trap her against the ropes. The blonde clearly had her beat on strength, but maybe the rookie could keep her on her toes with a combination of speed, skill and creativity.

However, Belinda had skill to spare, herself. As Vida pushed Belinda's face harder against her chest, trying to wring some air out of her opponent to wear her down, Belinda was already at work on a counter. Vida wrenched down harder as she heard Belinda's moaning, hoping this meant she was in control. The rookie was so focused on keeping that control, however, that she hardly noticed Belinda's hands getting into position, sliding down her back, until it was too late.

"Que!?" Vida said, crying out as Belinda sinched in her grip on Vida's slender waist and hoisted her up into the air. The latina rookie lost her grip entirely, eyes widening in shock as Belinda tossed her back off her boots. Vida's eyes kicked out wide, as she flipped backward and was slammed painfully into the mat! "Ooof!" she grunted, hitting the mat hard. The backdrop suplex knocked the air out of Vida's lungs, leaving her flat on her back, chest heaving as she stared up at the arena lights. "Ooohh ..." she moaned, chest rising and falling as she kicked herself for not seeing the counter coming.
