AV 15 Hardcore Title Boiler Room Brawl: Adrian Kytes(c) Vs. River Styx

Adrian shoulder charged through the door, hoping to catch River still recovering, only for her to suddenly get the feeling like she was about to cough out a lung. Metal and fist digging into her gut as the former player let out a weak wheeze. Not even enough wind left in her to get a small sarcastic retort in as she slumped down to her knees, eyes watering.

”Gotcha.”

Styx tried to laugh as Adrian fell to her knees, but whatever internal damage the loaded elbow had done made that a painful affair. Instead, all she could manage was a hoarse wheeze as she clutched her side, groaning from the pain.

But in a way, it was a good thing. It pissed her off even more, and Styx tended to fight better the madder she got.

”Fucking cunt!” Styx grabbed Adrian, by the hair with her free hand, dug her fingers in with a relentless grip, reared back and shot her knee into the hardcore champion’s face at full force, making sure the point of her knee collided right on the nose.

Adrian barely had time to slump down to her knees before River pressed the advantage, digging her fingers deep into the former cosplayer's hair before driving her knee forward, crushing bone and sinew as the bald brawler smashed Adrian's nose, leaving it a bloody, scrambled mess just below her eyes as she pitched backwards, her head lightly bouncing off of the bathroom floor as her eyes began to close.

Styx staggered back against the wall, since she put far too much pressure on her battered ankle, thanks to that knee shot. The results were worth it, though.

It was tempting to just stay and stomp away on Styx until her other ankle started hurting, but it was even more tempting to just walk out and get the title. After all, Adrian looked dead to the world, and there’d be nothing stopping Styx from leaving, getting the title, then coming back and beating the shit out of her some more. She could even smash her in the face with the hardcore championship for bonus points.

Styx gave Adrian a little kick in the side out of pure spite, took a quick second to wash her hands, and started to leave the bathroom, more than ready to hold her rightful gold.

Adrian barely made a sound as River's steel tipped boot smacked into her side, just a little gurgle from the blood splatter that was her face, as River left the bathroom, door swinging behind her. "Is she gone?" The hardcore champion mumbled out as she was left alone, slowly twitching her way back to life.

Pulling herself up by grabbing hold of the sink, she managed to just about see the damage that River had done, her vision slowly clearing as she staggered up to her feet. "Fuuck..." She groaned. Here she was, broken nose, broken... probably some other things, and still in a Mens bathroom in the middle of Mongolia about to lose her first title. "FUCK!" She screamed out, kicking one of the stalls open and grabbing all the toilet paper, just trying to clear her face from the blood, sticking some up her twisted nostrils to soak up more as she took off, blindly searching for the Bald Brawler. She was still in this thing, she just needed to find River before River found an exit.

Styx rarely had a genuine smile of sheer joy, but as she looked down the corridor and saw a door that seemed to lead outside, she looked happier than she had since...ever, maybe.

Styx’d been walking around for what felt like a couple of minutes now, when she saw the most beautiful door in all the world.. After a year of beatings and bullshit, the hardcore title was finally within her grasp, and all she had to do was walk through it. So close. Right there.

Styx hobbled over to the door, took a deep, relieved sigh, and pushed it. And pushed it. And pushed it. And pushed it.

”...the fuck?” Styx shook the locked door again and again, as if it magically might become less locked if she did it a few more times. She looked at the sign next to it, which she guessed explained why it was locked, then started to wildly beat away at it,giving it a few hard slaps. ”Bullshit! Fucking bullshit!” Her roar echoed throughout the boiler room, and she flipped off one of the cameras looking down on her.. ”This is a fucking safety hazard!” This was someone’s idea of a joke. Had to be.

Adrian heard the loud call of "Bullshit!" echo throughout the halls, at least now she had a direction to follow in. No idea whether it was the way out or not, but whatever. She could deal with escaping once she'd put down River for good, and if the bald brawler was screaming like that, she might actually be close to finding something.

"Hey..." She said weakly, coughing twice before letting out a more determined "HEY!" to get River's attention. The hardcore champ was lumbering towards her, hand against the wall for balance as she staggered forward "Don't forget me, asshole!" she called out, managing to get a glimpse of the fuming pit fighter.

Styx had just begun to back away and look for another way out when she heard that familiar, shrill voice coming from behind her. She had to concede, she was surprised that Adrian had even managed to peel herself off the floor and find her in her addled state of mind. The fact that she was still aching for a fight was, frankly, impressive. Not that she’d ever let the hardcore champion know she thought that, but the opinion was rattling around in her head and there was no getting it out.

Styx’s shoulders sagged as she looked back, glaring at Adrian from down the hall. ”Don’t worry, Adrian. I’ll never forget you.” She turned around and started to walk towards her. Styx would’ve loved to just charge, but that wasn’t currently in the cards with her ankle.

”You really think you’re tough, don’t you?” Styx brought the knuckles out of her pocket as she neared and slid them across her fingers again. She smash Adrian with them as many times as it took to get the job done. ”You’re not, cupcake. You’re just too dumb to know when your ass is kicked.”

Adrian glared straight back at River as she slipped on the brass knuckles. Well, that kind of explained how she got totally wrecked by one punch, her strategy of going in to smack her loaded elbow in the bald brawlers face wasn't going to work if River had the reach of her full arm for her own damage amplifier. "And you..." The champion coughed back in defiance "I'm not tough? What does... what does that make you? Can't even finish the job properly..." she taunted, holding out a hand to beckon River on as she propped herself up against the wall "You, you... you just don't know h-how badly this is gonna hurt you." She wheezed, not sounding to convincing with blood running down her front. "Come on!" The brunette shouted "I'll show you a thing or two..."

Despite the thuggish looks, Styx was far from being a complete idiot. Not that it would take a genius to figure out that Adrian was baiting her. The only question was what she had in mind that wouldn't end up with her face getting caved in. She was standing there, wide open, practically begging for someone to just beat the shit out of her. Styx couldn’t see any reason not to oblige, which just made it all the more suspicious. She was practically gift-wrapped.

Fuck it. Maybe she really was just that dumb.

Styx devoted herself to an all-out frontal assault and charged forward, moving towards Adrian like a runaway freight train. She reared back and launched a hellish haymaker at the hardcore champion’s face with her brass knuckles, looking to put her on the injured list for the next couple of years.
