Strangers in the Night

Korra looked good enough to eat in that out - not to surprising, really, since her body would've likely looked nice in just about anything. A year ago, just the sight of her might've been enough to keep Carmen distracted and force her into some embarrassing mistakes, and even now she couldn't help letting her linger gaze on some of the more delectable parts.

She stepped towards Korra and put an arm over her chest, keeping her secure. From there, she quickly placed her leg behind Korra's calf, then jerked forward in a swift, vicious motion, looking to plant her down hard with an STO.

Korra threw up an arm in a shielding motion to try keeping the encroaching Carmen back while she dealt with her wardrobe malfunction, but it wasn't quite enough to prevent what was coming. She managed to free her captive arm just in time to be thrown down firmly upon the mat, her body bouncing slightly and legs kicking up into the air before falling back down. A good move and she executed well, but she wasn't content to rest on her laurels - she started to push back up right after the impact, wanting to resume the attack. After a few moments, Carmen uncrossed her legs and gave up on the hold with a saddened sigh. She pushed off of Korra's back and rolled backwards, getting up to a single a knee in one, smooth motion.

Korralyn was not a grappler and it showed in her lack of experience with escapes. There were a few more effective methods of defending herself from a body leg scissors, but she had no knowledge of them to speak of. In that regard they were on even footing, but it was easier to improvise a submission hold than to improvise a way out of one. As her diaphragm was clutched between Carmen's powerful legs Korra heeded her opponent's advice and focused on breathing. Through low groans she took short, deliberate breaths through her mouth. With the arm away from her neck Korra found herself with a little more freedom of movement, but she also anticipated a full-nelson attempt to stop her efforts to escape.
