Summer Splash 15 Tag Title Four Corners Match!

Managing thus far on her quick wits and a bit of luck, Akiko was pretty pleased at how well she was fairing against such a larger and more experienced foe. It was pretty clear a lot of people just viewed Yukiko and her as a placeholder team, which was fairly reasonable considering their rookie status. But both of them wanted to prove they were legitimate contenders here, moreso as a matter of pride than anything else.

Unfortunately, it seems the fiery-haired girl might have gotten a bit too overconfident with her successes thus far, as Anubis evaded her attack. Her kick hitting nothing but air, Akiko grunted as she hit the mat, quickly trying to scramble right back up in a panic, but it was too late as the Goddess was already upon her.

Anubis had managed to outmaneuver Akiko. Finally. The Goddess smiled, panting somewhat as she would rush forward as her foe tried to scramble back onto her feet. There was no opportunity to slow down now. Anubis wanted to place herself in command decisively and immediately!

"Haa!" the Goddess would exhale loudly, as she would leap on top of Akiko and force her back down onto the canvas. The question of what should be done now presented itself to the Goddess. She wanted to wear Akiko down. She wanted to slow the girl somewhat, so that she could not use her smaller size and those lithe, strong legs to run circles around Anubis or to dodge every attack the Goddess had planned.

Trying to make sure to force Akiko down onto her front, Anubis would then reach back for the fiery-haired girl's leg. If she could grab onto it, Anubis would try to put her weight on Akiko's back and then wrench that one leg up, trying to put the Frozen Flame girl into a single-legged, half-Boston Crab to try to start wearing her down!

With her escape foiled, things weren't looking good for Akiko all of a sudden. Anubis quickly had her rolled over into a single-leg boston crab, causing pain to shoot through both her spine and leg. "Gaaaaahhhh...!" she cried out, desperately squirming to try and get free.

Fortunately, they weren't very far from the ropes, however with Anubis's strength and weight even making that small distance was going to be very difficult. Gritting her teeth, the fiery-haired girl began to claw at the mat, hoping to start the short, but intense trail towards the ropes.

Anubis was really starting to enjoy herself! It was a very rare treat that she should be able to put a girl in an excruciating submission hold such as this one. Usually, Anubis's matches turned out a little more sensual, and often rather...catty. She and her sister had surely made their own bed when it came to the sort of matches they were expected to partake in. But there were few joys greater than locking in an effective submission hold and feeling one's opponent's strength withering away.

Akiko, however, was not finished just yet. She began clawing her way across the canvas, making her way over to the ropes, carrying both her own weight and the weight of the powerful Egyptian goddess on her back. They were only a few feet away from the ropes, and despite Anubis's efforts, it seemed that the fiery girl was going to be able to make it to them.

Anubis would keep Akiko in the crab hold as long as she could, but then, when Akiko grabbed the ropes, the Goddess would jump up and release her foe. Immediately, though, she would turn around and try to grab for the girl's legs to pull her back into the center of the ring. She knew that, at the edge of the ring, a tag was possible, and that was not something that Anubis wanted to occur...

Akiko let out a gasp of relief as she finally reached the bottom rope was was freed from Anubis's hold. The didn't get much time to rest, however, as the Goddess quickly dragged her away by her legs, bringing her back to the center of the ring. Though it was more or less where she wanted to be, the current conditions were pretty unfavorable, to say the least.

She figured her best shot was to keep working over Anubis's ankle, but first thing's first; she needed to get free. Propping herself up with her arms, the fiery-haired girl attempted to kick her legs out of the Goddess's grasp, and hopefully give her a good kick in the shin while she was at it.

Anubis dragged Akiko back towards the center of the ring, hoping she could do that before there was any interference. She glanced over to her sister, in one of the near corners. Bastet seemed prepared to run interference on anyone who tried to make a tag while Anubis was in control of Akiko. Right now, though, it seemed like all was quiet. There was no interference. Anubis was able to reel Akiko back in, pull her right back into the danger zone in the center of the ring where no one, not her partner and not any of the villains in those other two corners could grant her reprieve.

Akiko was not going quietly, of course. It must have cost her a good bit of energy, but she managed to buck her body violently. Anubis refused to let go of Akiko's ankles, keeping a tight grip on both of them despite being forced to stoop and rapidly adjust her positioning in order to keep that control. Unfortunately, as one of Akiko's legs went low, it then lashed out, suddenly and unexpectedly kicking Anubis right in her shin.

"Owww!" the Goddess exclaimed, as by reflex she dropped Akiko's legs and began to hop slightly on her good leg. Knowing that trying to stoop down again to pick those legs up would open her up to a kick to the face, the Goddess would take a different tack: she would try to stomp down on Akiko's butt, to try to slow the girl down, before backing up a few feet to nurse her wounded ankle.

Akiko yelped as Anubis's foot came crashing down on her firm, round ass, crushing her pelvic area against the mat. Though painful, the fiery-haired fighter fought through it, managing to scramble up to her feet. The prolonged fight against Seele and now Anubis had begun to wear her down quite a bit, but knowing Yuki-chan in all likelyhood had been dealing with Kat and possibly Seele or Mara, it was hard to say if she was in any better condition at the moment.

She didn't have much time to dwell on it, though, and making the snap judgment to keep on going, she spun around to face Anubis. With the Goddess hunched over trying to nurse her leg, Akiko launched herself at her much larger foe, hoping to try and catch her with a jumping kick to the head.

Anubis hoped that the stomp would buy her a few seconds. She had stomped on Akiko's butt, and not on any truly vulnerable part of her body like her throat or her head—Anubis was certainly no cheater, no Leah or Seele, and was not about to try to cripple the girl—and so the Goddess did not expect her opponent to be sidetracked for more than a few seconds by that move. Even so, Anubis was surprised by how quickly Akiko got onto her feet. Anubis was still hunched over when Akiko was springing at her.

Anubis straightened up right before impact and threw up her hands, but they only provided her minimal relief from the powerful kick to the head. Akiko's heel smashed into her hands, and forced her hands back into her face with almost the same force as the original kick. Anubis was flung backwards, stumbling at first, desperately trying to keep her balance. "Ahaah!" Anubis exclaimed in shock, as she put her arms out, waving them to try to maintain her balance, but ultimately being forced to give into inertia and gravity and tumble down onto the canvas on her back.

She would come to rest with her head on the middle rope, and her hands gripping onto the bottom rope. She breathed heavily, a little dizzy after taking that sort of tumble.

Though not quite a direct hit, it more or less hand the intended effect, knocking the Goddess for a loop. Akiko stumbled a bit as she landed, but managed to keep herself upright. While they were back near the ropes again, a quick glance seemed to indicate the coast was clear for now. The fiery-haired girl paused briefly to consider her next move, but given the awkward position that Anubis just so happened to place herself, the choice looked obvious.

With her foe propped up against the ropes, Akiko rushed forwards, grabbing the top rope above the Goddess. Pulling her foot back as far as she could, using the rope to stay balanced, she brought it slamming forward as hard as she could, intending to kick Anubis right in the gut.

Anubis was a little dazed after the kick to her face. She was lucky that her nose wasn't bleeding or anything, but right now a little trickle of blood would have been the least of her worries. She did not want to be this vulnerable, either to attacks from Akiko or to potential tags from outside the ring. She started to pull herself back up, recovering from that blow fairly quickly, but before she could, Akiko was on her. The girl was fast.

"Gaayaanhgh!" Anubis cried out, as Akiko's foot slammed into her gut. Anubis's abs flexed, and managed to at least keep that foot from sinking in too far. But a kick like that right to an exposed belly was going to hurt. Anubis was not used to that sort of attack, and she knew that she was still in a very tough spot. She thought she should have been dominating Akiko. But that was not the case, not one bit.

Anubis would do what she could, though, to try to stem the tide and hurt Akiko in response. She would make a grab for Akiko's leg before she could pull it away, hoping that she could get ahold of the fiery-haired girl's limb and keep her in place—and prevent Akiko from kicking her again.
