HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY AFW!!

Here's to a decade! Even if I've only been here for a couple of years.

On a similar topic, i feel this is a good place to ask a question I've been pondering lately.

Okay, the AFW stands for anime female wrestling, I get that. But to the people in the AFW world, what exactly is an anime?

That's actually a good question, maybe the A means something different in the AFW world while anime still exists in it as well wwhile for us the A means anime.

In character, it does stand for anime female wrestling. What it really means is forever a mystery to the reader.

Yeah, in character, in universe, it's still Anime Female Wrestling. I surmised that it was a way to bring in a certain type of viewer initially and as it grew, the brand was created and the name didn't need to change.

I assume that having pop idols, magical girl costumes and kawaii girls would have fit the theme initially and it just grew from there.

"Anime" is the name of the TV network that AFW first aired on, it usually shows only anime shows and hentai late night but started to branch into other ventures. As part of the deal made originally, the channel wanted their name as part of the title of the wrestling franchise as they were also sponsoring it.

Hence Anime Female Wrestling

Huh. I like that explanation.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense.
