HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY AFW!!

Hey everyone,
I'm glad to see people are slowly filtering in even though
everythings not quite up and running yet.

I think I need to explain a little of how things are going to go on
here.. AFW is actually two message boards... This one and a PhpBB
board. All of the RPGing will happen on the PhpBB board because that
one is more organized when it comes to message posting; However
normal discussion, your characters pics, stories, artwork, database
info etc. all come here to this board.


I will put up a permenant link up later, but for now here is the link

As mentioned previously, 14th of May marks AFWs 10th Birthday! This message above introduced new members to the world of AFW on the 15th May 2005, a day after I created the yahoo and freeadultboards forum.

This would start us down the journey that is AFW as we know it today, I never really thought that it would keeping going as long as it has, let alone improve and transform into something greater. And that is thanks to all of you.

For the first year or so there was probably only no more than 5-10 active members and there was little room for RPing outside of the ring. The Yahoo and Google Groups still exist (although now both yahoo and google have changed the format of their groups making the decreasing the usability of our old groups). But a good portion of our RPing actually took place over freeadultboards forum, whose problems made informe’s problems look like a stroll in the park, or eating cake… Or eating cake while strolling through the park on a Saturday (not Sunday cause then you’ll have the depression of work on Monday lingering over you)… But anyway! Here’s a look into the past for you, I saved an offline  internet page of freeadultboards when it was active, witness the birth of Yatori Shizuku!





In 2006 (before the above screenshot was taken) we set up a *third* message board and set about creating Sex Wars, later rebranded as Tension when we improved the image of the male v female scene

After concerns being expressed about lack of players, and a couple of
annoyances with Freeadultboards (what do you expect? its free and
allows adult stuff ), I am planning to set up the second show for
the AFW that I mentioned right from the beginning. The second show
will be specifically aimmed at Mixed matches. To make sure this is the
main feature, I intend to have a kind of war between the sexes going
on.. Each match where a male wins against a female or female wins
again a male will win the respective gender points, and these points
will tally up and give favours to the leading gender (hopefully this
will pit males and female togeather something like when WCW met WWF or
Smackdown went up against RAW). MvM, FvF and mixed tags will also be
welcome on this board

We will use Smartgroups to set up the board, still keeping the other
boards running and characters from "Friction" would be able to cross
back and forth between the two shows. You would also be able to use
the same story lines too (like vendetta's from here could cross over
into the other show if two of the characters that know each other go
to the new show as well).

At the moment I plan for the second show to be almost like a reality
TV take on wrestling (but not quite).. The setting will be on the
grounds of an abandoned university or boarding school, all wrestlers
live on the grounds while taking part in that show and there will be
loads of places to wrestle then just the ring.

So watch this space (any suggestions, please feel free to tell me)

Fortunately/unfortunately Smartgroups went under, otherwise we might still have Friction and Tension on separate boards!! Then Freeadultboards died a second death which led us away from all the questionable porn ads and to green pastures at informe and later Forumotion!


And so the journey continues..
