Re: La Mariposa vs. Valley Doll - Pushing the Sky
Valley Doll was smiling.
Oh, you couldn't see it from the ringside, even if you'd gotten the best seats in the house. It would be nearly impossible to see with all the hair around her face and how small of a grin it was. It barely qualifed as a smirk, and she was in such a bad position at the moment that you'd never guess some part of her would be happpy with the way things were going.
But when she looked up and saw La Mariposa doing her little dance after her successful attack, she couldn't repress a light giggle. Valley was going to remember that for later.
For now, though, she had to actually get back on the offense before she could even think about doing a taunt, and that might prove to be something of a problem. Her elegant opponent didn't wait long to follow up, and while Valley though she'd continue the trend and go for some kind of high-flying move, she turned out to only be half right. La Mariposa started out in flight, but that wasn't how she ended.
She had a short shriek as she was flung through the air, crashing down hard on her back and trapped in an armbar. Good move, and a smart one, too - the position was designed to keep her as far from the ropes as possible. It wasn't quite as bad as working on her legs, like many of her opponents went for, but Valley was still in a good deal of pain with no clear way out at the moment. All she could do was struggle, tossing from side to side as she vainly tried to pull her arm free. She was a long way from having to tap out, but that didn't mean the move wouldn't give La Mariposa a good advantage. WIth things so close, even the slighest edge could tip the scales.
