The Arrival: Abattoir vs. Lucky Uchida
Standard rules, one fall.
Well, here she was.
It had taken almost an hour of sullen glaring while sitting through lectures on 'proper conduct' and 'abiding by the rules of AFW' but, just like Styx had predicted, nobody had actually done anything in response to Abattoir's violent and explosive first impression. They'd even gone ahead and given her a debut match. Odd.
As 'Hate or Glory' hit the speakers and Abattoir strode, eyes forward, purposeful, towards the ring, the crowd was...apathetic, really. There were a few scattered boos (anyone who dressed like that was clearly a bad guy), but as of right now, the violent little ball of hatred before them was a totally unknown quantity. Fair enough, Abattoir thought. It wasn't like she'd done anything to impress them. Without ceremony, she slid under the bottom rope and headed over to a corner.
She hadn't exactly done any scouting on whoever her opponent would be for tonight, but by no means was she dumb enough to think they were going to feed her some out-of-depth rookie for her debut. If anything, the nak muay had been thinking, they were more likely to give her someone with serious wrestling chops, as punishment for her behavior the previous week. That'd explain why the office had been so quick to give her a match....
Abattoir swept her coat off, throwing it over the top rope to the floor. The mask, as usual, remained on. It kept her expression hidden, but there was no hiding the dead-eyed stare she cast toward the entryway, waiting for her opponent to show.
Whoever came down that ramp, she decided, they were in for the fight of their life.

Re: The Arrival: Abattoir vs. Lucky Uchida
"Ha Ha Ha! Looks like you're not going up against a squirt like that kid you think is your friend."
"Jamie-san!?" Lucky's eyes lit up. "It's been a while since I've heard anything from her. I hope she's ok." The blue haired girl frowned at the thought, even as her music began to play.
"Ha Ha Ha!" Macky chortled and gave Lucky a shove. "Just get out there and kick her ass. Stop making us look bad! And get better music! Ha Ha Ha!"
Lucky nearly stumbled out of the curtain. "Kisama..." She growled to herself as she tried to regain her composure. her cheeks were flushed but as she walked down the ramp, she tried her best to hide her annoyance at her friend's words. 'My music's awesome. M.O.P. is great!'
By the time Lucky had slipped into the ring and finally started looking her opponent over, her face had hardened into an emotionless stare. Unlike Abattoir, Lucky had to force the look, but she wasn't going to be outdone by a mask if she could help it. She let her own piercing stare meet Abattoir's gaze for a brief moment. She then stretched and adjusted her suit to make sure everything was in place. She was ready for this girl, that was for sure.

Re: The Arrival: Abattoir vs. Lucky Uchida
Her music was pretty awesome, but admitting that would be giving up the psychological edge.
Not that there was much of one in the first place; looking at her prospective opponent, Abattoir knew her suspicions had been right. This wasn't one of the girls Styx had told her about, who were there more as eye candy than actual talent. No, this was a ringer. They'd sent her somebody who could actually handle herself.
Good. She grinned wanly under the mask. This'd be a learning experience.
As the bell rang (it took her a second to remember not to meet Lucky in the middle or anything; this was a wrestling match, after all, not a fight), Abattoir stepped out of her corner and got into the usual routine. Circle, circle, study, study. That stance wasn't something she was used to - somebody who wasn't afraid of getting taken down to the mat, by the looks of it. Perhaps Lucky was more comfortable grappling, which, stylistically, would make things a little more complicated for Abattoir. She hoped so, just a little - getting out of your comfort zone was the only way to improve.
Time to test the waters. After circling just long enough to get a little restless, Abattoir stepped up to the middle and beckoned Lucky in with one hand, looking to lock up. The next few seconds would give her a better idea of what she was up against.

Re: The Arrival: Abattoir vs. Lucky Uchida
Once the bell rang, Lucky silently padded around. It was probably strange to the audience. Even if there wasn't banter between wrestlers, there was usually some kind of energy. One or both wrestlers might be hyped for the match and both may have been, but their dead calm seemed to bring an eerie quiet as the girls stared each other down.
When Abattoir finally beckoned Lucky, she was eager to comply and raised her hands up to lock up with the masked girl in a traditional collar-elbow tie up. Lucky didn't mind one bit. It was a grapple, kind of, and it would let Lucky gauge Abattoir's strength. She also knew, even before their arms linked, what she had in mind. She definitely wasn't going to spend her time shoving back and forth with the girl.
Once she found out where the girl's strength lay, she would try and transition quickly from the collar-elbow into a hammerlock and force Abattoir's arm painfully behind her back.

Re: The Arrival: Abattoir vs. Lucky Uchida
The feeling-out process at the beginning served two purposes. First of all, it gave Abattoir an idea of whether she could just muscle Lucky around at will. Better to find out now than to grab a desperation plum later in the fight, try to control the fight, and immediately get flash KO'd with a right hand over the top of the clinch like Anderson Silva. Secondly, it'd let her gauge how good her opponent was at the whole grappling thing.
As it turned out, she didn't get an answer to the first one because the answer to the second (which was "quite good") kicked in almost the moment they tied up. In a flash, Lucky was at her back, wrenching her arm into a hammerlock before she'd even had a chance to shove the other girl around some. Oh yeah, this was definitely going to be an adventure into the unknown.
Abattoir stayed calm, although a low hiss through the mask gave away the sudden jolt of pain that shot through her shoulder. Maneuvering in a circle to try to take some of the pressure off, she twisted at the waist and reached back with her free arm in an attempt to grab a headlock. This wasn't exactly her forte, but the only way to get better at it was to learn by doing.

Re: The Arrival: Abattoir vs. Lucky Uchida
Lucky wrenched Abattoir's arm as hard as she could without so much of an inflection on her face. Abattoir, however, was smarter, and perhaps faster, than the average rookie and tried to use her speed to help create some separation with the run around tactics.
Lucky gave chase though, trying to keep Abattoir's arm as firmly tucked between her shoulder blades as possible. The Ice Girl knew, though, that she wasn't going to get any sort of win off the hammerlock. She just wanted to establish control.
Even as Abattoir reached back for a headlock, Lucky considered her options. She could try and press forward, but she didn't mind Abattoir having her head. As her face was pressed against the side of the masked girl's chest, she knew that Abattoir would have to know what to do with it. Lucky did. Her free arm wrapped around Abattoir's waist and she bent her knees. She would then try and turn the position into a belly-to-back suplex. Abattoir had given up separation by trying for a headlock and Lucky was looking to make her pay.

Re: The Arrival: Abattoir vs. Lucky Uchida
Abattoir had just enough time to feel pleased about taking the lead in their little chain-wrestling exchange, and then she went for the proverbial ride.
She rolled with it, of course, but there's only so much you can do to soften the impact of being suplexed onto your shoulders. The experience was thoroughly jarring, and left her slightly out of breath and with a new appreciation for what she was up against. If nothing else, the initial feeling-out process had yielded some interesting findings - at the moment, mostly the knowledge that she was definitely at a disadvantage where the technical stuff was concerned.
The problem was that Lucky knew it too, now. She'd surely try to press that advantage wherever she could. This could be a problem.
Time to create some separation. The second Abattoir had pushed herself back up and sprang to her feet, she threw out a whip-crack of an outside leg kick. It was a little too committed to be a feint - she was banking on Lucky rushing in to follow up on the suplex. If that didn't happen, well, at least she'd get some distance between them.

Re: The Arrival: Abattoir vs. Lucky Uchida
Lucky bounced once she released Abattoir. She knew what to do next and squatting and ready to shoot at Abattoir. If the girl was fast, the best thing to do was to cut her down at the legs. Unfortunately, the masked girl was fast and Lucky had already committed to grabbing low when the kick came high and cracked her in the head.
"Gh!"
Lucky fell backwards onto her butt, pressing one palm into her head as she turned her body and began to crawl quickly away while trying to get to her feet.

Re: The Arrival: Abattoir vs. Lucky Uchida
'Serendipity' sounded a little too much like a stripper name for Abattoir to adopt it, but it was a damn good principle when it came to fighting. Still rocked by the suplex, she'd managed to throw out a 'get away from me' strike right as Lucky had shot in to capitalize on her, and although it'd stunned the grappler more than it'd truly damaged her, the fact remained that Lucky was crawling away from her towards the ropes, and Abattoir was, if not totally unharmed, at least standing up.
She seized the moment, of course. Grinning like a jackal, Abattoir charged forward, catching up to Lucky right as she reached the ropes to pull herself up. She grabbed the other girl in a waistlock, intending to pay suplex unto suplexer.
Of course, she hadn't really competed in a wrestling ring before, and her situational awareness wasn't exactly adjusted to the type of environment AFW offered yet, and so she failed to realize the implications of trying to throw somebody who could easily get a grip on the ropes...

Re: The Arrival: Abattoir vs. Lucky Uchida
"wha?"
Lucky was just getting to the ropes when she suddenly felt arms wrap around her. She hadn't thought that Abattoir would get to her before she could even check her position and she mentally cursed herself. Still, her rookie mistake was followed by one of Abattoir's own as Lucky hooked the bottom rope with one foot and clasped her hand around a top one, holding her in place as she felt Abattoir's attempted suplex turn into a successful hug.
Lucky would try and reach out for the top rope with both of her hands and hold onto it tightly. While she was a technician in the ring, she had picked up a few tricks from her former partner in crime. Lucky yanked hard, trying to pull them both over the ropes. She didn't care if they both tumbled, but she was going to try her hardest to hand onto the ropes no matter what. Even if they did happen to spill over the top.
