Adrian Kytes vs. River Styx - No Guts, No Glory

Styx had a satisfied sigh as Adrian collapsed before her, reveling in the sight. Even with all the pain, all the annoyances, and knowing how long it would take to recover from this match, that moment alone made it all worthwhile.. "Nevada. So you're not far off."

She reached down, grabbed Adrian around the waist, and pulled her right between her legs, starting up one of the most recognizable moves in all of wrestling. There weren't just boos anymore. Now, there were cries. Pleas. Some of the audience begged security to do something, and the crowd rallied behind Adrian, shouting encouragement, hoping their hero would make a desperate and courageous comeback.

Delicious. She wanted to live in this moment.

"Enjoy rehab, bitch." Styx pulled Adrian up and into her powerbomb, the Fallen Angel, forcing her to sit on her shoulder for the first part of the move. Her spine screamed in protest, but Styx ignored it for now - all she needed was a few seconds. She held the position, made sure she had the footing just right, tensed her muscles for the final slam, and then...

As she was put in between River's legs Adrian put together just what awful fate the bald brawler had in store for her. She had heard how much of a vicious bitch Styx had been in her previous matches but experiencing it was a whole extra level of danger, River was trying to send her straight to the hospital and everyone knew it.

"Nggh..." She grunted as she was lifted up to River's shoulders, her ribs were burning in agony but she'd have to put more pressure on them if she didn't want to be leaving the arena on a stretcher. "Yaaa!" the cosplayer yelled, throwing a few punches down onto River's head as the big woman moved her into position to be slammed onto the edge of the table, trying to get River not completely focused on the brunette's bigger plans. Tightening her legs around River's head she threw herself backwards and down, trying to pull River into a hurricanrana

Styx reared back, prepared for the final plunge, and...

BAM!

She didn't even know what happened at first. There was this flash in front of her eyes, then pain surged through her skull.

BAM! BAM!

Punches. Adrian was still fighting. Styx had smashed her, bashed her, and thrashed her out of the ring and all the way back in, she'd stomped and flattened her time and time again, and she just coming and coming. The punches weren't enough to knock Styx over, but the made her wobble and step back, forcing her to readjust in order to get back into the right position.

She never got the chance.

She'd started to move forward when she felt Adrian's legs clamp down around her neck. Styx thought it was just some last ditch effort, like she was trying to make the powerbomb difficult - annoying, but she could just fall forward with the powerbomb and get a similar result. But then Adrian jerked back and turned momentum against her, Styx went flying ass-over-teakettle, and there came the shitty moment when she realized what was about to happen and couldn't do a damn thing to stop it. "Fuck!"

It had been a long, long time since Styx screamed, but when her back  came crashing down on top fo the overturned table, that was exactly what happened. The unyielding wood shot right into her spine, sending pain all the way up her body, and she immediately rolled off and started going into spasms. Hoarse cries and harsh curses flew from her mouth as she kicked her legs on the other side of the table. Nothing was broken as far as she could tell, but it was sheer agony all the way. Every little twist of her spine was torture. Every moment felt like little needles pricking under the skin. If she'd ever taken a worse hit in her entire time fighting, she couldn't remember it.

And, of course, the crowd went wild.

It had left the cosplayer with little energy left to go on but she'd pulled it off, she'd turned the tables and let River be hoisted by her own petard although she didn't exactly share the crowds total joy at Styx's blinding agony. If there was a list of things she wouldn't do to her worst enemies than dropping someone back first on the edge of a table was probably going to be on it, even if River totally had it coming by trying to powerbomb her into it. "That..." she hissed as she started to crawl over to the fallen brawler. "Is why... you set up a fucking table fucking properly!" She yelled, trying to push the bald woman over and hold her shoulders down, if anything was going to keep River down that might have been it.

Styx wanted to quip back at Adrian, snap at her with something, but she couldn't. For one thing, she had to admit, the little bitch had a point. That had not been the brightest idea she'd ever had by a longshot, and she was never doing it again. Besides that, though, there was also the fact that she was having difficulty forming coherent words at the moment.

She found herself staring up at the ceiling, trying her best to fight through the insane pain going up and down her spine. She was reasonably sure she'd be able to sit back up soon, though it was definitely suck just to pull that off. If the sudden weight on her chest was any indicator, though, it wouldn't be soon enough.

"1...!"

This was bad. This was extremely bad. Adrian wasn't all that heavy, but it felt like she weighed a ton on Styx's chest. She twitched. She tried to sit up. But her aching, weary bones just were not having it. Maybe she could pool her energy into one, solid push and break the pin, but she wasn't sure if that'd be enough by itself....

"2...!"

The referee's hand startd to move down for the final count, it was just beginning the descent, less than half a second away from hitting the mat, and that was when Styx gathered enough wherewithal to thrash her body and try to get her shoulders up. Just in case she needed extra help, she craned her neck forward, opened her mouth, and bit Adrian's arm for a little added incentive. And out of pure spite.

Adrian held down River's shoulders as long as she could, the crowd counting along with the referee as once again the cosplayer came within less than a second of beating Styx at her own game much to the joy of everyone watching. But Styx's thrashings were starting to be a real problem to keep down, yeah she was battered but the size and strength advantage was still there making it hard to keep the big brawler pinned. And then there was the dirty tactics, like biting.

"MOTHERFUCKER!" Adrian screeched as River's fangs sank into her arm, forcing her to focus on pulling away instead of holding the bald woman down, allowing her foe to get a shoulder up and break the count much to the audience's disappointment and Adrian's frustration. The brunette in a combination of not wanting to lose the advantage and immediate revenge for the bite pulled herself up just enough to get a bit of momentum as she fell back down, holding her own arm to make sure her elbow landed right on River's nose. She just lost face privileges.

It could've just been Styx's imagination, but Styx swore Adrian tasted like strawberries. Little weird.

Biting wasn't exactly high on her list of moves, but it was going to have to do for the foreseeable future, because she had the feeling it would be a hot minute before she had the chance to attack Adrian with anything else. If she was still conscious in a minute, at least. Things like the elbow heading straight towards her head put that in serious doubt.

It wasn't even really an elbow drop to Styx's face - it was an elbow drop to Styx's nose. She took the damn thing right on target. The point of Adrian's elbow sunk deep into the cartilage, crushed it right to the bone for one agonizing second, and the effect was instant.

Styx cried out and rolled over to her side, grasping her face with both hands. It hurt like hell, but that wasn't even the worst of it. Her nostril were filled with that familar, metallic scent. Blood. The cunt had broken her nose, and she was bleeding.

Not a proud day for River Styx.

That elbow was probably the most vicious thing Adrian had done in years, she'd put the hurt on River for sure with the steel chair and the half-set up table, but that was all with the long term goal in mind, she was working over the back to try and take away some of River's power and keep her faster than the bald Brawler. Deliberately breaking Styx's nose like that wasn't part of her overall strategy, it was just Adrian wanting to really hurt River in retaliation for something that probably wasn't as big of a deal as she was making out to be. "Fucker..." the brunette growled as she pulled back, blood splattered over her elbow pad.

Unlike her previous actions when on top, Adrian was the one to make the distance between the two, rolling out of the ring and staggering around the outside, she was looking for something on the outside to add injury to injury but like River had before, found herself coming up short. No kendo sticks, no baseball bats, not even a trash can. At least you could justify a trash can being under the ring, where else would all the bits and pieces that Adrian and River hacked off each other go? Just a few extra tables, a ladder or two and a lot of chairs under the ring. "Chairs it is!" She declared, throwing up the apron to the side of the ring before reaching in to grab as many chairs as she could, starting to throw them one by one over the top rope.

In some ways, the broken nose was even worse than her aching spine. Aside from all the blood making it hard to breathe, it gave her sharp pain with every inhale and exhale. It was already trickling down her face, and when her hand finally moved away the audience gave an appropriate roar.

"Shit..." Styx responded with a middle finger as she crawled forward, making her way to the ropes like a soldier in the trenches. She wasn't sure why Adrian was letting up on her, and she frankly didn't care too much either way. A break was a break, and she'd gladly take the reprieve.

It seemed like it was only going to be a temporary one, though, as it suddenly started raining chairs. Styx grunted when one of them dropped flat on her back - didn't hurt all that much, but it was a harsh reminder that getting the fuck up in the very near future would be an excellent idea. She grabbed the nearest rope and started to pull, climbing as fast as her failing legs would allow, but she was only able to get to a single knee before her back demanded a little rest.

Adrian lost count of the number of chairs she had thrown into a ring or where they landed, but there was one chair that wasn't going over the top. The same chair that River had brought out earlier and Adrian had used to great effect. This chair was her chair, it was a lot like other chairs but it was hers, and she was keeping a close hold on it. Sliding back into the ring with a manic grin on her face, banging her chair against the mat to try and coax Styx back to her feet slowly, slowly, just enough to get her for the right height for the cosplayer to lunge in, swinging for the fences.
