Adrian Kytes vs. River Styx - No Guts, No Glory

Styx started to enjoy a dirty laugh as Adrian rolled around in pain, reeling from the stomp. It didn't last. Almost as soon as she'd started, she saw a sight that brought her frown right back: Adrian was getting back up. Trying to make it back to the ring. Still life in her.

"Here," Styx used one hand to brace herself on the apron for support, while she reached down and grabbed Adrian's neck from behind with the other one. Getting a nice, tight grip. Really digging her nails into the skin. "Let me help you with that."

Styx lifted Adrian up to her feet, got her just high enough to stand, then jerked her forward and down to try and slam her face into the edge of the ring.

Adrian winced as River pulled her back up to her feet, feeling the nails dig into her scalp. "Shave your hair but don't cut your nails? Jeez..." She snarked back, trying to keep up the defiant tone of voice as the big brawler womanhandled her, just long enough for Styx to smash the cosplayer face first into the ring edge as though she was dunking a basket ball. The brunette bounced off the edge with a nice red line on her forehead and a glazed expression in her eyes. No snark this time as she staggered around, surprisingly vertical for someone who'd been made to headbutt barely-covered metal.

Slamming Adrian's face into things was immensely satisfying. Styx hoped she had the chance to do it again before she was done.

"Having claws comes in handy." She watched the cosplayer stagger away as the crowd yelled encouragement her way, rallying behind their little hero, rooting for her to bring the fight back to the big, bad, bald bitch. All the more reason for Styx to make sure that didn't happen.

She pushed off the apron and moved after Adrian, grabbing her by the wrist with boths hands before she stumbled too far away. Styx twisted around and tried to send her off with an old fashioned Irish Whip - usually not a move she'd go for with outside-the-ring brawling, but since she was aiming for the nearby steel steps, she figured it would be effective.

"Nggh..." Adrian groaned as she tried to stagger away from River, trying to get some distance back between her and the larger woman so she could at least get some sense back and start thinking of ways to fight back, but Styx wasn't about to let that happen so easily. 

Yanked back in the other way, the cosplayer was sent on a collision course with the steel steps, smashing into it with a godawful crash as the impact knocked them off centre and sent Adrian flying over them and dropping into a heap the other side. "Fuuck..."

Styx tossed Adrian away and immediately regretted it - the action put far, far more stress on her spine than she really wanted to put up with. She had to grab the apron to keep from falling over, barely staying stable. She liked to think she was tough. The toughest the AFW had to offer. But she was still human, and she had to admit that Adrian was really wearing away on her. Styx wanted to start pulling the curtain on things, and she had a great idea on how to get it done.

She moved after Adrian and stepped around the metal steps, reaching her as quickly as she could...which was painfully slow, really, but it wasn't like the girl was going anywhere fast. Styx reached down, grabbed a handful of hair to pull Adrian back to her feet, then lifted her up by the leg to haul her back into the ring under the bottom rope. "In you go." As much as she wanted to keep the fight on the outside, she needed the turnbuckle for what she had in mind.

Adrian rolled into the ring with little resistance, just happy to get a little more time where she wasn't being bounced against anything metal and could actually attempt to recover for a change. The brunette looked a complete mess, her hair was all frayed apart and getting in her eyes, her shoulder was practically purple after the collision with the steel steps and her tights were ripped badly, but the cosplayer still had a look of determination about her as she crawled to the ropes with gritted teeth, determined to see it out.

Styx immediately started to root around under the ring after tossing Adrian inside, searching for something she could use. This had been an unplanned match, so the usual assortment of goodies hadn't been stashed - no barbwire-covered bats, no garbage cans, no kendo sticks, none of the really fun stuff. Disappointing, but Styx knew how to improvise with what was at hand. The chair was an interesting idea, but Adrian had already gone crazy with that and she didn't like to be repetitive if she could help it. The ladder wasn't really her style. So that just left...

"Here we go." The crowd mostly booed when she brought the table out and slid it under the bottom rope, but she swore she could hear a few cheers, too. Just a handful, but apparently someone out there could appreciate a classic.

Styx rolled into the ring, got to her knees, pulled the table legs out and...stopped. Instead of standing the table upright, she left it laying on its side. A cruel thought started to form in her mind as she looked over to Adrian, and an even crueler smile accompanied it.

Adrian had managed to struggle her way up to her feet, leaning over the top rope for support as she saw River set up a table, ever a classic, and... only set it up part of the way, just leaving it lying dangerously lying on the side. What, was River planning to have her slide into it to try and break it? That wouldn't work, there's nothing holding it down so it could break. It'd hurt like hell but what was the point of setting up a table so she couldn't be put through it? "At least set it up properly asshole!" The brunette shot at the bigger brawler as she pushed herself away from the ropes to try and kick River in the gut, nothing fancy, she wasn't feeling up for fancy.

Styx licked her lips and started to make her way towards Adrian, shaking her head as confusion came over the audience. They didn't get the gist, yet. They would. "It is set up properly, Adrian." Her voice was calm and taciturn, but she couldn't keep out a little laugh at the end.

As soon as Styx got close to her potential victim, she was greeted with a swift kick in the stomach, sinking deep. It wouldn't have done too much earlier on, but now the blow had more than enough power to make her stagger away...but not quite enough to make her fall. Still standing. More ticked.

Styx ditched the act, grit her teeth in rage and charged back towards the cosplayer, unloading a massive uppercut right into her gut. Not just for retaliation, either - for what she had in mind, it would put Adrian in the perfect position. "You're not breaking that table. It's gonna break you."

"The hell do you mean 'set up properly'?" Adrian panted back as River staggered back from her kick "Do you not put tables upright when you're eating of them in whatever... place... pit... wherever you came from?" The brunette chided before noticing that Styx was reeling but she wasn't going down. Aww... this is gonna suck she thought as River lunged straight back at her, her fist burying its way into the cosplayers gut, forcing Adrian down to her knees as she sucked in as much air as she could as River enlightened everyone to her malicious plans. Yep, definitely gonna suck
