Adrian Kytes vs. River Styx - No Guts, No Glory

Had Styx been knocked down this bad before? Maybe. She'd been in a lot of fights before the AFW, and while she had more than her fair share of wins, she'd picked up some losses, too. Those were on the rare occassions that she'd found herself dealing with someone bigger and stronger than herself, though. This was the first time she could think of where someone smaller had worked her over. Somewhere in America, at least one of the girls she'd curbstomped was watching this and having a good laugh.

She could hear Adrian saying something, but she couldn't quite make it out over one particularly obnoxious fan telling her how she was an 'ugly, bald lady', if she got the translation right. Styx had a good guess what she was talking about, however, and when she looked over and saw the chair in Adrian's hands, she knew she was right.

The chair crashed into Styx's back with its trademark THWACK, echoing throughout the arena as the crowd's cheers grew even louder. Styx's attempt to rise was stoppped short for the third time, and she dropped flat once again. Her face was starting to becomen intimately familar with the floor.

Her back was in agony and her legs still stung, but she knew it would only get worse the longer she laid like this. She pressed her palms flat on the floor and started to push up. "Swear to God, Kytes," She grimaced as one of her back muscles twitched and made her lose a few inches on the journey. "Gonna shove that chair up your ass."

The classic sound of chair hitting person echoed around the arena, the cosplayer almost fumbling the chair on the rebound off of River's back, it hadn't stopped Styx's back chat though, although... "You know what, I'm feeling generous, so I'll make a start on that." She joked, holding the chair beneath her legs before jumping up, trying to perform a leg drop across River's back with the chair for the assist underneath her ass, once again the cosplayer trying to keep River down by the ring edge.

Almost up. Just a little more. One foot on the floor, then the other...

Hopes were dashed once more as Adrian and drove the chair down on her tortured back with more force than ever before, using her body weight to augment the impact. The other times, Styx had merely laid there and taken it, but this time that wasn't an option - the blow was too electrifying.

Her body went into a spastic fit and rolled away without even asking her brain for permission, flopping away towards the ring. She rolled once, twice, and thrice, before she came to a stop with her back arching on the floor and her legs kicking wildly. It was a wild, blazing pain that cut right to the bone, and she was sure that, for the next few days, the simple act of standing would be an agonizing chore. She could even muster enough air to make a decent curse, as her mouth stayed agape with a silent scream.

Adrian's legs didn't like being used as extra weight for a chair shot, not one bit as they sent shockwaves of pain up Adrian's spine as the cosplayer rolled off Styx, but the big woman was down and this time: it was starting to look like she'd stay that way for a while. "REF!" The brunette called out, trying to wave over the unfortunate official while she rolled River over onto her back, lying on top for a quick cover in what was already a vicious matchup.

Styx hadn't even begun to contemplate the possibility of getting back to her feet, when she felt a weight drop over her body and heard the pitter patter of little feet heading their way - the ref was all too eager to end this.

She dropped down beside them and started her count. "1...!"

Okay, enough bullshit. Styx was on a good roll recently. She was the #1 contender for the hardcore belt. This wouldn't change that, but getting the respect she deserved would be a little difficult if she lost here, especially like this.

"2...!"

The referee had just reached the apex of her last strike when Styx bucked and broke the count with only half a second to spare."Get the fuck off me!"

"2..!" Adrian heard, mentally counting along and hoping that she'd managed to get this done quickly but it was not to be, the cosplayer was launched off of Styx. The match was still on. "Damn..." she cursed picking herself up off the ground. "Okay, I think I've proved I know my way around a chair, let's get this back to normal." She said, grabbing River by the head trying to pick her up and walk the bald woman back to the ring.

The short respite was helping, but not nearly enough to to turn things around. Bones still ached. Brain still throbbed. She needed more time, and she knew just how to get it.

She started to rise up, getting enough strength to make her way up - but not all the way. She kept low as Adrian tried to get her back to the ring, stumbling along as she tried to find her footing, looking clumsy. It wasn't all an act, she really was feeling those chair shots with every step. But she was also getting into position.

"Yeah. Let's."After she'd gone a little way, Styx dropped to her knees like her legs had given out. She then quickly brought her forearm up between Adrian's legs, going for a harsh low blow.

God damn was River heavy. Like really heavy. Adrian was never the strongest wrestler around but trying to shift River from the floor to the ring felt one one of the labors of Hercules or something, especially with dropping down every five second-

-oh.


The cosplayer's eyes started to tear up as she pressed her legs together in pain, dropping down to her knees as she managed to squeak out a small "motherfucker..." before curling into a ball on the ground.

When in doubt, low blow.

It worked like a charm in more ways than one, stopping Adrian's quickly-rising momentum and getting her down to an even level all in one swoop. It also earned a fresh round of boos from the crowd, which was always nice. She even saw a few middle fingers.

"What was that? Couldn't quite hear you." Styx planted her foot down and finally managed to power her way back up, though she had to support herself with the ring apron just to get the job done. Her spine  was still crackling with pain, but that wasn't wholly a bad thing. It reminded her of the chair shots she'd taken, which pissed her off even more, which gave her the sort of aggression she needed.

"Come on, speak up." Styx brought her boot up and dropped a hard stomp towards Adrian's side, making sure to get the bulk of her weight into the blow. "Speak up! Say it again!"

"Gah! Motherfucker!" Adrian cried out as River stomped on her ribs, the cosplayer wiping away the water in her eyes before she started to crawl to the ring, hoping to use the apron to pull herself back to her feet but she got the sneaking suspicion that it was going to be as hard for her to get back to a vertical base as she had made it for Styx.
