Yamato Ishii vs Abbey Abraxas

In the backstage area of the arena, Yamato was taking deep breaths, and pacing back and forth. He was still new to AFW, but these pre-match nerves were something he felt he would likely always have to deal with. But it was more than that. His start here in tension had been…not so great. Yamato knew full well he wasn't the most talented pure wrestler around by any means, but the ease with which he was defeated in his debut had been humiliating. And since then there hadn't exactly been any sign that things would get any better. Still, Yamato was far too stubborn to give up on himself. No matter how long it took him, he would someday prove his worth on the Tension roster. Would that path start today, or would this match mark yet another embarrassing defeat on his record? Only time would tell, but the young Japanese man wouldn't have to wait long to find out.

His entrance music began to play over the speakers in the arena to cue his arrival, and Yamato slapped himself in the face a few times to try to get himself pumped up. "Alright! Lets do this!" he shouted to himself before running out onto the stage clad in yellow and black shorts, with matching boots and gloves, and black elbow and knee pads. Smiling brightly as he waved to and high-fived some fans on his way down the aisle, he then hopped up onto the ring apron before stepping through the ropes. Yamato ran to the nearest corner and pulled himself onto the second rope, and held his fists up high as he looked out over the cheering crowd. The sea of fans surrounding the ring was quite a sight to him, and he wanted to take it in for as long as he could. But there was a match to focus on, and so after a few moments more Yamato hopped back onto the mat, and patiently waited for the arrival of his opponent. He knew virtually nothing about her, but he'd find out what she was capable of soon enough. "Lets see who they got for me this time…"

Abbey bounced on her heels as she waited for the music to start up. She was in another match and it wasn't against some juvenile! She was actually fighting someone that was, on paper, the same dimensions as she was. She was happy to see how she would do against a male of her build.

When her music began to play, she bolted out of the backstage area and ran down the entrance ramp, sliding into the ring and hopping up. She threw her fist into the air, getting a decent enough response. She'd need a few more matches under her belt but her good nature and intensity had warmed a few hearts. Her killer rack probably helped a bit too.

Abbey took her glasses off and handed them to the ref. She then slipped her jacket off and looked at Yamato. "Domo arigatou, Mr. Yamato." She said with a big grin on her face. "Hope you're ready for some good action." She said as she stretched. "We're about the same height and the weight difference is minimal. This should all come down to skill, i think." She said with a wink. "Though, I do wonder where you're hiding those extra three pounds. It's not like you're lugging a pair of these around." She said and gave her breasts a healthy push.

Abbey grinned and stepped forward, extending her hand for a shake. "Abbey Abraxas! Let's have a good match, ok?"

When his opponent's music began playing, Yamato watched as the blonde ran down to the ring down to the ring in Ultimate Warrior-like fashion. From the response of the crowd, he guessed she hadn't been around that long either, though he couldn't be certain.

As Abbey removed her glasses and jacket, Yamato lifted an eyebrow and couldn't help looking her over for a moment. It seemed in addition to a fun personality, she had certain "assets" the crowd was certain to like. "Whoa…" Yamato wasn't the biggest perv on the tension roster, but he still knew an attractive woman when he saw one. "Oh, I'm ready!" he replied, returning her grin. The idea that the outcome would likely be based around pure wrestling talent wasn't good news to Yamato, though he did his best not to show any sort of reaction to give that away. "And…I'll leave that up to your imagination." he said with a chuckle in response to the next comment.

When she stepped forward and held out her hand, Yamato moved to meet her and extended his own, shaking her hand. "Yamato Ishii. Nice to meet you. And good luck!" He then let go of her hand and backed up a bit, now just waiting for the bell to ring to get this match started.

"Ew."

Abbey said through a soft chuckle. Still, her eyes trailed to his black and yellow shorts briefly, just to verify before she laughed again. "You can have my luck." Abbey said after they finished shaking hands. "You'll probably need it more!"

Once the bell rang, Abbey circled the young Ishii and focused her attention on the boy, throwing herself forward when they were close to try and get an elbow-collar tie up going straight away.

"Heh. We'll see about that!" he replied. The bell then rang, and the match was officially under way.

The blonde began to circle him, and Yamato mirrored her movements, keeping a careful eye on her to see what she'd try to do. It seemed the two were thinking alike, and a moment later he launched forward at the same time Abbey did, getting them both into the elbow-collar lockup.

Height and body weight between them were just about even, but still Yamato wanted to see if he could overpower his female adversary. And so he attempted to use his strength to push Abbey back, trying to back her into the ropes.

Abbey locked up with Yamato and pushed with all her might as their bodies compressed and their cheeks brushed together a bit. "Ngggh!" Abbey pushed and tried to surge forward with Yamato but the boy was strong.

Abbey was forced to take a step back but maintained her ground for a moment before taking another step backwards. "Pretty strong!" Abbey grunted through clenched teeth.

Grunting as he pushed against his blonde opponent, Yamato was eventually able to force her backward a step, and then another seconds later. He seemed to be winning the test of strength here in the opening moments, but Abbey was certainly making him fight for each step.

"Right back at you!" he replied, impressed with the female's strength as well. But he knew to continue trying to drive Abbey back like this, even if he succeeded in pushing her as far back as he'd wanted, would possibly waste a lot of energy he'd likely need for later.

So, in an attempt to break the lockup between the two combatants, the young man tried to throw his arm forward and around Abbey's neck to pull her into a tight side headlock.

Abbey had plans to break up the lock as well. She knew since Yamato had the slight advantage that she'd end up in a bad position regardless. However, she was going to try a kick but Yamato switch positions and put her in a tight headlock.

Abbey pawed at Yamato's chest while her face contorted from the tightness of the lock. Whatever he was going to do, Abbey wasn't going to give him too much time as she balled her fist and tried to drive a sharp punch into his stomach. Hopefully, before he could execute.

Yamato had pulled the blonde into the headlock, and squeezed her head tightly against his chest with his arm. He was in a good position, but unfortunately, the clumsy man wasn't one to plan very far ahead.

Abbey's hand pawing at Yamato's chest didn't do anything to weaken his hold. In fact, he found it sort of cute. But still, what to do with her now? Should he try to throw her toward one of the turnbuckles or the ropes? Should he power her down to the mat and keep the headlock synched in? He was hesitating, which proved to be a mistake.

"Oomph!" he gasped as Abbey's fist suddenly rammed right into his stomach, briefly knocking the wind out of him and causing his hold on the headlock to loosen quite a bit. Hoping to recover quickly Yamato attempted to clamp down on her head again with his arm, and would then try to toss her over his hip and bring her to the mat with a simple takedown, hoping the brief moment his grip on Abbey loosened wasn't enough to allow her to recover and counter.

Abbey yanked her head partially before Yamato's arm clamped back down, leaving her in an awkward position. When she felt him try and throw her, Abby knew that she might suffer serious injury with her neck if she didn't roll with it. She bent her knees and let Yamato toss her. Farm more than he probably expected her and Abbey tried to use the momentum to land and then roll away so she could hop up, essentially turning his toss into an escape.

She bowed her head and grinned. "Ta-da~! I'm here all week!" She boasted. She then tried to clear the distance between her and Yamato and double him over with a kick to the gut.
