Encounter at a Bar Event (for Unlife)

As she backpedaled away from Anne, her opponent continued to follow her until she pushed her into the cage wall, feeling the cold steel pushing against her back. There was no more retreat for Kaya as she bounced off of the cage wall as a noticeable bite mark was forming on her shoulder but the mark was the least of her concerns as Kaya took a massive haymaker across the face, spit and blood flying off of her face as her head whipped to the side.

Her legs becoming jelly, Kaya would fall to a knee before collapsing on to her stomach, her world spinning as she temporarily lost control of her bodily functions as she stumbled about on the mat reaching up to grab on the cage as she rolled on to her side and stared upwards at the lights above.

Anne wanted to fully press the advantage, wanted to hurt her until she was paste on the ground, wanted to force her to the ground and smash her so hard that she would never, ever walk again. Her blood was up, and she wanted to see some on the floor beneath them. She pressed a palm to Kaya's face, snapped her weak grasp off the cage with her other arm, and forced Kaya straight to the ground on her back. She was gonna pummel her even if she begged to sto-

But that was just barbaric.

She looked at this whole thing. Staring up at the crowd, and the cage, and the eagerness of this all. No, she thought. Not like this. This was anarchy. This was ruleless. She was a fighter, yes. She hurt people for a living, she had long accepted that hard, bitter truth of her profession. But her goal was triumph, and this was a dingy place with no legitimacy and no rules. This was pointless.

She tapped on the ground thrice, indicating surrender, much to the befuddlement of the crowd and the ref. She walked over to pick up her shirt.

Kaya was unable to defend against the assault of Anne as she forced her on her back, ripping away her arm on the cage as she saw her opponent standing above her, looking as if she was about to unleash a beating that Kaya has never been on the receiving end of. Fear started to creep into Kaya's head, fear she's hardly ever experienced before. Bracing herself for the beat, Kaya was surprised that it never came as she saw Anne tap the mat three times, much to the shock of everyone in the bar, especially Kaya.

Kaya watched as Anne left the cage as she tried to pull herself up, but failed. "Wh-where are you going!?" Kaya got out, stubborn as Anne left. Kaya has never had mercy shown to her and this kind of mercy was an insult, as it meant that although Kaya 'won' her pride took a serious blow as she won the fight due to her opponent wanting nothing more to do with her.

"I'm going to lick my wounds," she said, scornfully. Bitterness was the only way she could stomach this loss; condescension and patronage was the only way she could walk out of this the real winner. "You were too good for me. I bow before the master." She made a little flourish and a curtsy as she exited the cage door. She pulled her shirt on. It smelled of blood and sweat.

Kaya's face flared with anger as she heard Anne 'praise' her, she could tell how dishonest she was being or at least that how she felt as she pushed herself up. Gritting her teeth as she brought up one of her hands to cover her cheek where she took the vicious haymaker she would use that hand to punch the mat angrily. "This isn't over dammit!"

"Yes, it is." Anne said. "Look, I'm sorry about the bite. It was nasty, and I apologize. But we're done here. I'm not gonna kill you in a some half-shack in the middle of Tokyo. Just listen to that sentence. So, uh, have a nice life." And with that, she walked out of the cage, through the parting crowd, and swiftly head for the exit. Her night was, perhaps, ruined in a number of ways. Her adrenaline search had only led to guilt, she didn't even enjoy herself that much, and she didn't even get to finish her drink.
