You know, something to consider-

The never-aging Ash has pokemon that could level a city. Pikachu in theory could demolish a city block. So why does he stay a perpeptual noob?

That is very easy, Ash always starts over with Pikachu as his first Pokemon as he catches new a new team to raise and bond with unlike where he went to the Orange Islands and the Johto region with his already powerful Pokemon, especially his Charizard and Bulbasaur.

But one thing I have a problem with is people complaining about Pikachu being a powerhouse as he is being beaten. If anyone has forgotten, Pikachu has poor defensive stats while having high speed and Special Attack stats since it is small and unevolved. I have a Pikachu that is lvl 59 and it faced against a Pokemon 15 lvls under it that has evolved and it slaughtered it with 2 to 3 hits. Not only that, even Red's Pikachu is easily defeatable despite being the highest lvl Pokemon you face in ANY Pokemon game,

So it is completely invalid to question Pikachu's paper thin defense since Pikachu is a Glass Cannon and a Fragile Speedster.

Pikachu's power level got reset at the start of the Black/White episodes anyway.
