When Roommate and Love Interest Collide

It was a warm day at the mall, and Charlie was very happy for three things today: 1) Air conditioning. 2) He had a female to provide perspective for Talia's birthday present. 3) This mall seemed to be animal friendly... at least no one harassed him about L.C being there.

"Al thanks for coming along. I hope she likes what I picked out today." Charlie said holding onto the small jewelry store bag as if it held a government secret that he had to safeguard from spies. He really cared for Talia. She wasn't just pretty, or athletic but he felt like he could be himself around her. She didn't judge him. All that was reason enough to make him nervous about her birthday gift. He wanted it to be perfect, or at least as perfect as he could afford on his budget.

"Charlie, you've said that like five times today. I'm only going to say this one more time. You were able to pick out a nice necklace all on your own. Its not super expensive but its a nice sterling silver with what looks like a well cut garnet in it. Its very pretty and I'm sure she'll love it." Alaina stated as L.C seemingly barked in agreement.

"Well, thanks again for your help. Next time you are trying to figure out something to do for your boyfriend I'll help ya out as repayment for this." Charlie said before he changed his voice to sound like the Godfather. "I'll make you an offer you can't refuse. You have done me a favor, and I will repay you with a favor when you need it." Alaina chuckled and jokingly elbowed Charlie's ribs as the trio made their way towards the foodcourt. Alaina was looking for something healthy that she would split with L.C... Charlie heard there was a Taco Bell somewhere in here. Sweet, greasy, horribly unhealthy Taco Bell.
