Fantasy Gladiator RP (Interest Check)

Gladiator combat in a historical perspective can be seen as the predecessor to professional wrestling. So I am wondering if anyone would be interested in a say a fantasy style of Gladiator combat. So what do I mean by fantasy, I am talking about elves, orcs, humans, dwarfs and other races that are commonly found in many fantasy settings, like Dungeons and Dragons. As for magic, this would be something that would remain in the background, to explain how characters come back from the dead, though it would play no role in combat. This would, of course, take place in the Alternative Arena forum section.

Such an rp would be Player versus Player focus but from time to time, we could do some kind of boss raid or fight controlled enemies by some kind of GM.

Sounds like it could be kind of neat, I'd be interested in giving it a try. Especially the boss raids, if those become a thing.

Sounds pretty interesting. So only magic is how characters come back from the dead? Or is there more?

Magic is meant to be in the background, explaining things that cannot be explained, for example, certain bosses, stopping the characters from going into the crowd and perhaps a few other plots devices. I don't want people to start using magic or having magic weapons (I may make an exception during say a boss raid or something but those will have strict limits). If you have a certain idea for magic, do feel free to share it.

I'd be potentially interested. It sounds like it could be a lot of fun.

How would combat work? Something like Warcraft with sword fights or are we talking orcs wrestling a dwarf? Heh sorry if this sounds odd, not sure I get it?

Ah I was just checking the ruling on magic. It's cause I mainly write fantasy stories so I know my use of magic can be different from others. One magic I was thinking was simply weapon magic. It's something I wrote in my stories. Consider it like Erza's Requip Magic but for weapons. But I won't be using that. Haha

I know Xerxan would fit in for this type of rp which his own magic isn't something that could turn the tables unless it was his darkness spell which is just a 20ft ball of darkness that blocks even his darkvision. His Faerie fire I would just use to enhance a finishing move which I hope would be ok.

Sword Fights and other weapons.

I rather not even give a spell or two to anyone, as then more and more people might ask and it could create a slippery slope.
