Lucy Grange vs Dmitri - Pick Yourself Up

Lucy may not have been the most skilled person in the AFW, but she was determined, and that seemed to make up for a lot of things.

Army tried to sit up, started to, when Lucy's dropkick slammed into his ankle, a low hit that struck right on target and made his bones scream - she was targeting his legs. Smart. Painful, but smart.

He tried to roll away and get up to his feet, putting weight on the ankle that was still working properly - he still had some ways to fight, his legs weren't the only way, but he would need to get up, first.

Mr Grange's baby girl had gotten a couple of moves in on the legs of Dmitri, that was good for her. Else those kicks of his would be like a whip across her skin, and she wasn't into kinky stuff like that.

Now that the man was rolling away Lucy knew she had to try and get after him, else he could catch his breath and mount an attack. And that could be bad for her to be sure, so Lucy got to it.

Standing back up after her mini dropkick Lucy would try to advance towards Dmitri, aiming to try and deliver a kick of her own to his belly. She figured she should try and aim for another part of the martial arts man to try and wear him down.

Now, that his legs were a bit hurt, she was trying to make it about kicking. A good plan, but with one flaw - Dmitri did, in fact, know how to use his fists. Sure, they weren't his main weapons, but they could be a convenient side arm, especially for times like this.

Dmitri brought both of his arms down, placing one palm on top of the other and blocking the snap kick, her shin slapping into his palm. He immediately jerked forward and turned those palms into hardened fists, slamming them both into her chest in one exacting, decisive blow.

Lucy's eyes went wide as saucers, she realised her attack had not only missed but she was now getting countered.

Mr Grange's baby girl tried to brace herself for the pain, although not as much as she hoped. The air got knocked out her chest as Dmitri nailed her hard, earning a loud noise from Lucy "Guaah!" she yelled out.

The blonde girl from the UK was sent down to the mat due to that impact, on reflex she clutched her gut. Panicking just a little bit Lucy would attempt to roll away and get some distance, now that she'd been stopped in her tracks it was time to try and pull out and form another plan.

The blow connected, a solid hit, and from the look on her face, she didn't see it coming - she went down fast, sliding along the ground and rolling away - Dmitri was starting to wonder on her training. She clearly knew how to fight, but the training must have been fairly informal. He couldn't even put a firm finger on what she might have been using as a base.

She was trying to crawl away, get more space - she seemed to do her best work on the offense, not when the pressure was on. He couldn't let up, though; too much space and she'd starting getting tricky again.

He stepped forward and tried to stomp her ankle, keeping her in place so she couldn't just roll off again.

Lucy was busy attempting to dis-engage here and get away from Dmitri, she was wild but even she knew the difference between being brave and being stupid. And it would've been stupid trying to be brave.

Mr Grange's baby girl let out a loud yelp of pain once Dmitri stomped her ankle, like him her legs were quite important to her as it let her do all the flexible and acrobatic stuff she was known for. "Argh! Let go!" she yelled out at him.

Lucy would use her free leg and attempt to kick him hard in the gut while attempting to get herself free, but she'd have a bit of a hard time focusing on two things at once in this sort of situation though.

He almost, almost did let her go, too - that was his instinct. But then he remembered how good that sort of instinct did him against Lady Phantom, and he quickly kept the hold. He had no intention of steamrolling Lucy, she seemed like a nice girl - but that didn't mean he was going to let her steamroll him.

Her kick came fast, slapping him hard in the stomach and making him wince at the pain, but he managed to hold his position - too far to back down, now. He finally let his foot off her ankle, only to use it to step forward and deliver a punch, a right straight right to her chest. "For what it's worth, I'm sorry about all this."

Lucy let out another grunt of pain as Dmitri socked her in the chest, things were snowballing here for the young woman from the UK. She couldn't afford to take too much damage, unlike her older Brother Ryan who could take a shit ton of hits before going down.

But then she had an idea, with Dmitri's arm now close to her maybe she could counter or at least get him to back off. Grabbing ahold of it with both arms she then went to wrap her legs around the said arm, hoping to try and get it into an armbar of sorts. Using her legs position to try and force him down to get the move locked in.

"Got you now!" Lucy yelled out when she got into the move.

Lucy took another shot to the chest and cried out again, making Dmitri wonder just what it would take to put her down for a three count. He didn't really know any good submissions, so it was either the pinfall or a knockout, and he really didn't savor the idea of hitting her hard enough for a straight KO. As admirable as her spirit was, it was posing all sorts of problems.

And speaking of problems and submissions, apparently she knew how to do an armbar.

Dmitri went down hard, flat on his back - now it was his turn to cry out, as she bent his arm in a direction God never intended.

"Got you now!" Lucy yelled out as she got Dmitri into her armbar, getting her legs crossed in good.

She had done this move quite a few times in the past, wither it was in a sparring match with her Brother or during a dark match in China. In fact Ryan told her about another person who did it, Lucy was busy doing something else then but Ryan claimed it was a ninja girl that did it. And here Lucy thought she was the joking one, little did she know Ryan was telling the truth there.

But regardless Lucy had gotten Dmitri good here, it wasn't his leg unfortunately. But her old man taught her to take what she can get, and so she continued to try and crank on the pressure like an amp dial. As Dmitri arm was okay prior in the match he'd have a fairly good chance to break out if he remained calm however.
