This was going to be the biggest match of Gail's still short career here in Japan. And with luck, it'd be a win she'd be leaving with tonight. A week ago, she had a pretty weird meeting with Nikolette, one of her first opponents and somehow it ended up with a title shot against the current champion Janet. Who turned out to be a nice person, despite Gail being in a pretty terrible mood.

Tonight Gail was in a much better mood. mostly because of the opportunity she'd gotten. Not many people ever got a title shot. She put on her outfit, a tight purple wrestling outfit that showed off her body best and stepped out onto the ramp. The crowd didn't go as crazy as might be expected from such a huge audience, but that was alright. By the end of the match, she'd have a belt and tons of fans.

The short brunette blew a kiss as she made her way into the ring, picking up a mic. "You all ready to cheer for a new champion tonight?" her voice as confident as it had ever was, Gail leaned back on the ropes, almost looked relaxed about waiting for the current champion.

Janet had won her first championship match by the skin of her teeth over Kelly Conway. The former champion had done all she could to vanquish Janet, but, in the end, the Lakota managed to overcome all of that and win the Entropy title belt. It had been a brutal back and forth battle, with trash talk flying in both directions and both wrestlers receiving a faceful of the otherâ€s hot ass. Kelly had just brought out the worst in Janet. The blonde was just a huge bitch.

The Entropy champion had high hopes that her first title defense would not be marked by such rancor. Her first encounter with Gail hadnâ€t gone very smoothly, but, after several minutes of saccharine sweetness, Janet and her friend Nikolette had managed to break down the girlâ€s grumpy exterior. They had gone out for ice cream after that, and, while it was a little awkward, they had had a pretty good time. Janet hoped that they could keep this championship match cordial. Seeing her opponent enter the ring in high spirits, Janetâ€s hopes were bolstered.

The fierce chanting of her own entrance music began, and Janet emerged at the top of the ramp with a flash of light. She was wearing her usual costume, complete with facepaint and headdress, with the addition of the Entropy title belt around her waist. The crowd gave her a very warm reception. Janet waxed in their applause. It seemed like just yesterday that she was a rookie fighting in her very first AFW match. But now she was a champion, with instant name recognition. Being on top was exhilarating. She didnâ€t intend to give that feeling up easily.

She hopped up into the ring and grabbed a mic of her own. “Hey, everybody!” she called out, waving a hand above her head. She got a big applause, and laughed merrily, bowing in each of the ringâ€s four directions. “Thank you all so much! And why donâ€t you all give my opponent another round of applause, huh? The way Iâ€m going to throttle her tonight, sheâ€s going to need all the emotional support and encouragement that she can get.”

Janet would laugh again and drop the mic. “Just kidding, sweetie. Well, not about the throttling, but…well, you know what I mean.” She grinned confidently.

For any other match, Janet's entrance - a full tribal getup, half the crowd chanting along with her entrance- would probably be way over the top and Gail would have assumed done to one-up her. But for a big event like this, such a grand opening was cool to watch, a nice build-up to the match.

Being the champion and everything, the crowds definitely recognized Janet, and the way they just instantly went wild for her... That looked pretty damn awesome. Not that Gail would show it in her face. She acknowledged Janet with the smallest of head tilts, though the big grin on her face gave a much more accurate representation of what she was feeling.

Gail laughed at Janet's confident words, putting her own mic down. "Heh, we'll see if who's gonna need the support after the throttling, champ." She gave her sorta-friend a wink and awaited the start of the biggest match of her career so far.

Janet was still getting used to the way the crowds went wild for her. She had only been wrestling at AFW for a little over a year, after all—she could easily remember a time when she was a virtual unknown. They had always cheered her, sure, but she didnâ€t have this sort of following before. But being champion had all sorts of advantages, not the least of which was the love and adoration that enveloped you every time you got into the ring!

Janet was glad that Gail seemed to be in a good mood tonight. The first time she had met the girl, she really had been absolutely nasty. The Lakota had been this close to giving her up as a lost cause when Gail made an abrupt about-face and started playing nice. That had been almost totally unexpected, but not unwelcome. And it seemed like Gail wanted to keep this match not only civil, but fun, too. Janet could always get behind that goal.

“We will see,” Janet agreed lightly, tossing her microphone to one AFW staffer, then removing her headdress and handing it to another one.

((Ug.. don't go to Taco Bell if you don't want diarrhea for 3 days))

"Heh. Sure.", she tried to keep confident, but her cocky grin was a lot more nervous that she wanted it. Gail didn't have nearly an elaborate an outfit as Janet. She wouldn't have much to do as Janet got her excessive get-up off, so she just quickly ran through what was going on in her head, like a high schooler about to wing a big speech, just don't screw up i got this no big deal no big deal no big deal nobigdealnobigdealholycrapthisisfreakingmeoutNOBIGDEAL., she repeated it in her mind until the thoughts blurred together, just as the ringside workers moved off with Janet's Native garb.

And then... *ding*

Right away, Gail would run for Janet, she was way too excited to consider anything but rushing in right away. If Janet wasn't ready for her, Gail would pull her and whip her to the other side.

Janet would nonchalantly go about the small pre-match ceremony of handing her headdress over to one of the attending AFW staffers. Tonight, the headdress was joined by the Entropy title belt, but not before it was handed over to the referee girl for a few moments. She held it up, giving Gail a good look at it, then turned around, letting the entire audience see it sparkle in the bright arena lights. Then, she handed it back to Janet, who smiled down at it before handing it over to yet another waiting staffer.

She only had a few seconds after that before the bell rang. She was ready to get this fight started right away, and so too, it seemed, was Gail. The girl rushed forward, and Janet would take a few quick paces forward to meet her. She allowed the girl to grab her arm and whip her towards the far corner, only to grab onto Gailâ€s wrist as well and try to turn the tables, using her own momentum to try to pull the slightly shorter girl and whip her towards the corner instead!

Gail was taking this match quite seriously, very unlike all the other matches. No underestimating Janet here, she really needed this win. Not even for the belt, she wanted the people here in the crowd to know that she beat anyone, champions included. She grabbed Janet easily and swung her in a wide circle, expecting her to go running into the ropes, Instead, the current champion did the same to her, reversing the whip back on her. The doubled momentum was too much to stop, and Gail was the one who ended up sent into the turnbuckle, hitting it was considerable force, "Guuh!!" causing her to clutch at the point of impact.

Janet managed to surprise Gail when she reversed the whip and sent the slightly shorter wrestler flying into the turnbuckle instead. The Lakota sighed and shrugged as the girl exclaimed in pain. “Youâ€ve got to think on your feet, sweetie,” she teased the Canadian, bouncing on the tips of her toes over to the corner in which Gail was entangled.

“Now, letâ€s go!” she sang out, grabbing onto her opponentâ€s hair, digging her fingers deep into the brown mane, trying to grab it by its roots. As much as she didnâ€t want to reawaken Gailâ€s grumpy side, hurting the girl was the only way she could win this match. She hoped that her opponent would take it for what it was—just business—and not get mad at her for it. She would shake Gailâ€s head by her hair, once, then twice, and then, she would give the hair a hard yank, trying to pull Gail backwards and throw her down powerfully onto the mat.

Gail wasn't very good at keeping her feelings in check. She understood that Janet wasn't going to be as nice as before, of course, it wouldn't be the behavior fitting of a defending champion otherwise. She knew that Janet was just doing what she needed, and that overall Janet was a very nice person, and getting mad at her wasn't the right course of action.

But rational thought didn't take precedence over irrational with Janet tugging hard on her hair. "Owowow! Let go!" Gail yelled out angrily, clawing at the hand that was tugging at her hair. Gail also balled her other hand in a fist and sent a punch at the champion's stomach, all to try to dissuade Janet from pulling out her scalp.

Janetâ€s hairpulling elicited a reaction from Gail, but the challenger managed to resist Janetâ€s attempts to throw her down to the mat. When the girl turned around looking pissed off, Janet knew that there was some sort of retaliation coming, and, when she saw her foeâ€s hand balled up into a fist, she would instinctively tighten her abdomen, just in time to take the powerful gut punch. But it still hurt, and, figuring the cost of keeping her hold on Gailâ€s head was too great, Janet would release the girlâ€s short brown hair and take a step back. She was not about to give Gail room to breathe, however. When she stepped back, Janet would twist herself to her right a little, before unleashing a hard roundhouse kick aimed at Gailâ€s chest!
