Fiery Hearts: Makie Akamatsu vs Mindy Priest

Before the 3 count could be reached, Makie twisted underneath Mindy, her lighter body rubbing a little against her opponent's as she barely managed to get a shoulder up. She took a long gasp for air, trying her best to shut out the throbbing pain in her back. She had to keep fighting, she knew, to get back into the fight and turn things around. Come on, you've beaten bigger opponents before! She thought angrily to herself. Don't let this rookie gaijin walk all over you like this--

No sooner had the thought entered her head when Mindy rolled Makie over and drove a knee into her exposed back. Pain lanced up Makie's already hurting spine, and she cried out flailing instinctively against the mat as she clutched her back. Gritting her teeth, Makie felt herself being pulled upright, and the next thing she knew, she was being propped up in a seated position on Mindy's shoulders. "Ah...ah...noooo...." she moaned, knowing what she was being set up for.

Defiantly, she would try to send a few clubbing punches down into Mindy's forehead, in an effort to loosen the muscle girl's grip. If this happened, then Makie would try to rock her body backwards and arch, hoping to use Mindy's positioning against her and flip her head over heels before transitioning into a schoolgirl pin. If she failed, though, then she would be at the mercy of whatever move Mindy had in store for her next...

Mindy hoisted her opponent and straightened her own back, so that the Japanese girl would be sitting on her shoulders a good six feet above the mat. A smile appeared on Mindy's face as she finally got into position. If what she had seen on wrestling shows was of any indication, the power move she was about to perform was spectacular and a big crowd pleaser, so she just couldn't wait to pull it off for the first time in front of such a big audience like this. Surely that would earn her some good rep in the eyes of the fans! "Huff... are you prepared, Makie? Ready or not, here I- augh!"

But of course, things never went as smoothly as on TV. A series of punches clocked her on the head, halting her move. While she was dizzy, Makie suddenly arched backwards; the shift in momentum caused the muscle girl to stumble, but on reflex the muscle girl took a step forward and spread her legs apart, narrowly avoiding being flipped off her feet. Makie's attempt was just short of being successful, but it wasn't enough to shift the rookie's weight when she had that kind of balance.

"Nngh..." Shaking off the pain on her skull, Mindy found herself in an unusual situation: she was hugging Makie's hips, with Makie herself dangling upside-down in front of her. It was a bit of a precarious position, and Mindy didn't want to lose her balance, so she settled for completing her move right now and then. She jumped up and fell to her butt, hopefully driving Makie's back against the mat. The move wouldn't be nearly as powerful or impressive as the powerbomb she had been planning, since Makie wouldn't fall the full height from her shoulders, but at least it would be something.

Makie felt her fist slam down again and again upon Mindy's skull, and in response, she felt the muscle girl's grip slacken. Taking a sigh, both of relief and of exhaustion, Makie wasted no time in arching forwards, her slender body bending low like a diver as she moved to catch Mindy unawares and flip her head over heels. "HAVE A NICE--"

She paused, then, when her legs snagged hard around Mindy's head, and she suddenly found herself dangling a few inches upside down off the mat. "...trip?" She felt the blood rush to her head as she realized that Mindy hadn't been caught unawares at all-- instead, she had braced her legs just in time, leaving Makie dangling a hair's breadth off the mat! Panicking, Makie squirmed and twisted, trying to snatch at Mindy's ankles to hopefully unbalance her. By then, however, it was too late-- Mindy jumped up, the movement momentarily lifted Makie upwards again, before gravity kicked in and Makie was brought crashing down, back-first, into the mat.

"AHH!" she cried, her back arching up painfully off the mat before slumping down again. The Japanese girl lay on her back in front of Mindy, her chest rising and falling as she breathed hard, her legs propped up against Mindy's shoulders. "Nnnnnnh..."

It looked like Makie was as surprised by this turn of events as Mindy herself, so the rookie decided to complete her move before all that squirming broke her grip. "Ei!" She hopped in place, and instants later she landed on the mat in a sitting position, slamming Makie's back in a somewhat halfhearted version of a sitout powerbomb.

In stopping Makie's flip, Mindy had shown great physical strength and balance - but in spite of this, she wasn't happy with how things turned out, feeling a bit disappointed. All she wanted was a true, breath-taking powerbomb, one that would cause the ring to quake and make the audience chant her name...! As she held on to Makie's legs, she looked at her tired face, thinking of how troublesome this Japanese girl was. First, she had toyed with Mindy's feelings, and now she had ruined the perfect power move... what next?

Mindy pouted a little. "She stopped me this time, but that's not the only flashy move I know!" No pin was attempted this time; she was determined to redeem herself. She would let go of Makie's lower body and let it fall to the mat, circling around her. Once she was behind Makie, Mindy would try to prop her into a sitting position and hug her with both arms just under her chest. If she succeeded, she would then hold tightly to the Japanese and get up, wanting to drag Makie to her feet by the waist in preparation for another big attack.

Makie's eyes were screwed shut as she lay on her back, the painful throbbing in her spine having returned with a vengeance after that second back body drop. Breathing hard, Makie opened up one eye to see Mindy towering above her, circling her as though deciding what to to. She cursed inwardly, incensed at being dominated like this. She tried to fight off the pain, willing herself to move and to fight back somehow. In the background, she could hear her fans chanting for her to get up and to turn this match around...

In a few moments, Makie was up off her back, though not of her own volition. Coming up behind her, Mindy propped Makie up into a seated position and squeezed her muscular arms around her in a reverse bear hug. The firm grip compressed tightly under her chest and put stress on her lungs, and Makie gasped as she was trapped in the iron grip, feeing Mindy's generous bosom cushioning her back. In a few moments, she was lifted off her feet, her legs kicking uselessly in the air as Mindy lifted her up like a rag doll. "Hey...let....go!" she managed to gasp, prying uselessly at Mindy's arms. In an effort to fight back, Makie would shoot an elbow back, and if that didn't work, she would press both her legs together and try to drive her booted heels back hard into one of Mindy's knees. "LEGGO!"

As Mindy got up, she remembered an advice from one of her personal trainers, and old motto that always crossed her head in times like these: lift with your legs, not your back. Hugging Makie tightly, she stood up, pressing her feet against the mat and flexing her leg muscles to bring the Japanese girl with her. She couldn't help but smile as she finally completed her lift, taking Makie off her feet for a few inches and holding her in the air like an oversized teddy bear. Makie even tried to paw at her bearhug, but it would take a lot more than that to undo the clamp created by Mindy's strong arms. The American spread her legs slightly apart, readying herself to perform a German Suplex on the hapless Japanese girl. This time she wasn't going to fail...!

Oh, if only. Right before arching back and completing her spectacular move, Mindy was interrupted by an elbow strike at her shoulder that loosened her grasp around Makie's waist. Too busy trying to keep Makie between her arms, the rookie didn't notice the two legs coiling up, and all of a sudden her knee was hit by twin hard heels! "Ugh!" The shock caused Mindy to let go of Makie completely and step back, stepping back as she clutched her aching knee. In the end, she didn't manage to pull off her German Suplex... mental note number one: hug the arms as well next time. Mental note number two: keep their feet on the mat before arching. "Nh... you're pretty slippery, huh?"

Makie's feet crunched solidly against Mindy's knees, and she heard her American opponent gasp. A second later, her opponent's arms came loose, and Makie was sent tumbling back down to the mat. The Japanese girl collapsed onto her hands and knees, gasping loudly for breath after enduring Mindy's crushing grip.

"Nngh...not...slippery..." Makie breathed as she began to crawl away from Mindy towards the ropes, perspiration beading her skin. She needed to pull herself up, to recover, before Mindy could lay any more heavy moves on her. "Just...better..." That's it, rookie, get mad, she thought as she crawled. Get mad, and make a mistake...

Mindy, tending to her knee, had to let go of Makie and watched her move on all fours towards the ropes. She had half a mind to keep pressing the offensive, but her power moves weren't working that well so far; maybe she needed to rethink her plan. She was, indeed, annoyed that this small speedster was raining so hard on her parade. Why couldn't she fight someone her size, for once? Then they could slam and grapple each other all match, the way she liked. But noo, she had to be paired with the agile, unpredictable veteran!

Makie's quip only rubbed salt into her wound. "Better? Hmph!" She crossed her arms in front of her body, flexing her biceps and trying to look sure of herself while she struggled to think of some decent response inside her head. Mindy was very bad at smack talk. "You... hm... you can only run around for so long before you're out of gas! You call this being 'better'?"

Wanting to keep the upper hand, Mindy would then walk towards Makie, who at this point was near the ropes. She would place one hand under the Japanese girl's armpit to pull her up to her feet. "Get up!"

Huffing as she crawled to the ropes, Makie was conscious of Mindy striding behind her, taking her time and basking in her triumph. The new girl was big, strong and powerful, but she had absolutely no skill at smack talk-- which meant that she had no idea how to use it as a distraction. As Makie neared the ropes, Mindy strode up angrily towards her and grabbed her under the armpit, yanking her up.

"Who said...I'm out of gas?" Makie retorted as she staggered back up...and suddenly twisted hard in Mindy's grip, spinning around and sending a fierce uppercut into her chin! Although Makie was better at kicks than she was at punches, she hoped that her blow stunned Mindy enough to force the larger girl to release her.

Mindy stepped behind Makie, grabbing her and "helping" her to her feet - and she was rewarded for her troubles with a surprise uppercut! Makie was right to try and taunt her, for she fell hook, line and sinker for that one. "OOF!" The muscle girl was forced back a step by the direct hit, letting go of the veteran's armpit and clutching her jaw with her gloved hand.

With her chin still stinging, she turned her attention to Makie, visibly upset. "You...!" She wasn't going to let someone just punch her like that, especially in a sneak attack. Retaliating right away, Mindy stepped towards Makie again, sending a powerful, if telegraphed, haymaker to strike her on the chest.
