Black and White Feathers

Lia nodded and smiled back at Lily, this made her feel like a elementary school student again. Or at least how she guessed a normal student would feel like when at a friend's house. She accepted the mug from Lily with a grin and some thanks.

"Mmm... this is good... Sometimes I just wish it could always be winter so I could drink hot chocolate everyday.", it was true, Lia had a weakness when it came to warm sweet drinks. "So you were talking about some holiday activities? I can't sing very well, and I don't know many carols , but since it's Christmas..."

Lily would have her own cup in her hands as she says, "Yeah, in fact, I wish EVERYDAY would be like Christmas. It's a time where everyone's happy and they all left their troubles aside just to be with family." When Lia mentioned that she'll try singing, Lily would reply, "Well, I can help you out in singing. I'll make sure you have a good vocal voice that can make ANY man fall for you."

She would sip and it left a creamy mustache above her lips without her realizing it.

"Too much Christmas probably isn't good though, I'd run out of money to buy gifts! Everything has to have some break, right?" Lia laughed when Lily talked about what she'd do for Lia's voice. "I'm not sure how John'd feel about that Lily... if every time I sing guys start chasing me..."

Lia smiled looking at her friend's face, a line of cream visible on her lips. Not realizing that her own face was the same

Lily would giggle again as she said, "Lia, you're growing a mustache!" But it didn't take long before she realizes, "Do I have one on me too?"

As she licked her lips of the cream, she would add, "Oh, you don't need to worry about that, me and my sister have plenty of money to share with you. It can be your break as a gift from us. And besides, I was only saying an expression. I bet if you sing well, John will surely sing with you."

"Oh, Me too?" she wiped off the thin line of cocoa on her lips and put some thought to the idea of her and John going around singing to people. "Eh, we'd get arrested for noise pollution I bet. But it'd fun to do it anyways huh? For the holiday stuff it's best just to do whatever you enjoy, right?" She took some time to pause and finish off her cup.

"Mmm... You make better cocoa than my mom used ta mak-." Whoops. Lia really needed to stop mentioning her family so easily.

"I wouldn't call it "noise pollution", rather I'd call it "caroling" just for the fun of it." Lily took another sip of her cocoa before continuing. "Right. I mean, nothing should be getting in your way to enjoy such a grand holiday with friends and family." She then was taken by surprise when Lia made her comment about her cocoa. "Oh! Uhh, thank you. But I'd like to see how your Mom would make this. Maybe it's just as good."

Lia let out a small sigh, it was her own fault for bringing it up, but it wasn't something she should have done so casually "Ahm... I mean, I sorta haven't been back home for like... a LONG time, not really sure if I can make much of a comparison, ya know?" She answered with just a hint of nervousness, but managed to smile through it. "But uh... anyways, you have any matches coming up in the new year? Or like any plans for anything in the ring? I'm sorta lost on what to do really."

Lily smiled as she said, "Well, me and my sister would be delighted to visit your home, Lia. I can bring my hot cocoa to your folks before I can try theirs. It's a way to get to know your family better, you know?" She then thought for a moment before adding, "Well, I don't have any plans for a new match just yet. We're just taking some time off to rest for Christmas and New Year's. At least you don't have a lot heaving down on your head when there's snow to see and play in."

"Uh well... I sorta... moved from C-Canada to get here, and I haven't really kept that much in t-touch with t-them ahn... a-and I... uhm..." Lia had to force herself and stop talking. "...sorry."

Deciding it'd be best not to ruin the cheerful holiday spirit by getting all sulky, "But yeah, uhm... yeah... it's best to just play when we have the chance I guess... uhm... I'll probably uh... like... I'll probably do the same I g-guess, not worry about all that serious c-contract stuff for now..."

Lily would see that her friend didn't feel at all comfortable when talking about her family and she was one to know that it was best to stop talking at this point. "If it's that personal to you, then I won't bother you too much about it." Getting back to the spirit of Christmas, she would continue, "You're always welcome in our home, Lia. Whatever event we do, we can have fun together. You're part of our family too."
