Champion's Gathering

Akashi poured Angel another drink and filled up her own glass. "I guess we'll see." Akashi said and took a sip from her champagne. Her cheeks were red but she didn't even really seem that buzzed. "I don't think you're stupid at all though. I never said that." Akashi said, turning her head. "But I know how it feels to be champ. I have been where you are. I went through hell to get the title too. I went through hell to keep it for as long as I did. And then when I eventually lost it and even now. The hell never stops for real champions." Akashi said.

"I'm just saying there's a big difference between cocky and swagger." Akashi said and gulped down the next glass. "And whatever you've gone through to get what you have is nothing compared to what will happen when you have it." Akashi grinned. "And I'm not even talking about what's in the ring. Not completely. Aside from the girls nipping at your heels, there's a lot more to being a champ then just the 1-2-3 of it."

Angel took a sip out of her glass and settled back again, giving Akashi another shrug. She was started to feel a little bit lightheaded, and flashed a grin back at Akashi.

"Alright then, sumo. Try me. What else is there to it, then?"

Akashi lifted her chin and grinned at Angel. "Well, if you're independent and like keeping your own schedule, then forget all about that. Your time isn't your own anymore, Tenshi-san." Akashi held out her hand. "Meettings, events, photoshoots. The spotlight!" Akashi was a little sadness in her tone. "And, it sounds great and all, but sometimes you don't get to be around for things you need to.

"I wasn't around when Taylor-san fought Luvve-san and lost her Entropy title. Maybe if I had been there, then she might not have lost or something. Maybe if I had been there, we wouldn't have had a big fight." Akashi sighed. "But...maybe if we hadn't fought, we wouldn't be co close now." Akashi shrugged. "Anyway... There's all that. as well as having every girl crawling out of the woodwork to have a piece of you."

Angel shrugged back at Akashi again, leaning back against the couch, tilting her head upwards. "The things I need to be around for? Like what? My life is fighting and working out and then fighting some more. That's all I need to be around for, sumo."

She lowered her empty glass to the floor, setting it on the carpet, then lifted her arms, folding them behind her head as she gazed up at the lights. "Besides, I've had plenty of photoshoots and stuff so far. A few more isn't going to overwhelm me. And if people want to crawl out of the woodwork after me? Let 'em! I'll just kick them back down there where they belong!"

Akashi furrowed her brow. "I used to think that way as well." Akashi said. "That my life was fighting and training. And, it is... it is..." She said. "But, it's not only that." She said. "I'm a lot happier now that I have other things in my life. Those things help push me to be better than I am. I think that a girl can only get so far with focus and training only. And, you've reached the top of our field but..." Akashi paused. "Isn't that kinda sad?" Akashi said and shrugged.

"Aren't you ... lonely?" Akashi asked. The title, Akashi knew, was only as good as the people you could share it with. Who did Angel have beside herself? She really didn't know. "Anyway, it's not a few more photoshoots." Akashi grinned. "I guess you'll find out, Tenshi-saaaan."

"Sad?" Angel asked, lowering her gaze back to Akashi. "What's there to be sad about? I'm so happy right now I could explode!" She smiled, tilting her head curiously to the sumo. "I finally have what I've been chasing after all these years. I'm the best. I'm at the top of the company, so what is there to be sad about?"

She gave Akashi a shrug at her next words. "Lonely? A bit, sometimes. I usually get over it pretty fast though. It's not like I don't have friends around here or anything..."

"Who are you going to share that with? Something worth achieving tastes much better when you can enjoy it with someone." Akashi frowned. She wasn't trying to rain on Angel's parade. In fact, just the opposite.

"Ahh, well..." Akashi said, smiling softly. "Who? Let's invite them over and make this a party!" Akashi was excited again and stood up, pouring another drink for herself.

Angel gave a frown as Akashi hopped up, eager to call on someone else already. The truth was, Angel didn't have anyone else. The only other people in the company she'd really call her friend was Taylor and Tiffany Laurence, the former of which she rarely saw and the latter had seemingly disappeared.

She looked up to the sumo and gave her a shrug. "No need to bother anyone else this late. I'm content to enjoy things with just us two, for tonight anyway. Sit back down! Not like I can't enjoy things with you tonight, right?"

"This late?" Akashi said, catching Angel's frown. "What, is the big champ all tuckered out? Do you want me to tuck you in and give you a kiss goodnight?" Akashi teased, laughing. "Actually..." She said lifting her head and looking past Angel. "The bed in here IS pretty damn nice." Akashi grinned once more, flopping once the couch and nudging Angel.

"Well, what about your girlfriend?" Akashi asked. "Or boyfriend...?" Akashi added. She wasn't sure with Angel. The two had made some passionate love after their title match a few Summer Splash's ago but other than that, as sultry as Angel was, she really never gave any indication that she was available or unavailable. The Latina was a very peculiar woman indeed.

Angel stuck her tongue out at Akashi as she was teased. "You saw that match! I'm lucky I haven't passed out yet, sumo!" She couldn't help but turn her head and glance towards the bed in the room though as Akashi called it out, turning back to the sumo with a grin, nudging her back with her elbow.

"Neither," she then answered to Akashi's next question. "Well. I thought me and Tiffany had something going on, but she vanished and I haven't seen her in forever." She let out a loud, self-mocking sigh. "It's just me. Poor little Angel, all alone." She nudged Akashi again, flashing her another wide smile. "What about you, huh? Surely you've got a girlfriend hanging around, right...?"
