In the Meantime

Mercy couldn't help but watch as Melissa made what she seemed to think was the most clever deal she could think of. The way to really pin Mercy up against the wall by the balls. But in the paralegal's mind, she had just negotiated a checkmate from the cosmopolitan. She looked down and repeatedly smoothed down the fabric on her thighs as she tried to contain her smile. All she had to do was break up with Clyde. The only reason she even dated him in the first place was so that bitches like Lilly couldn't get their hooks into him. She took a sip of her tea and munched on a biscuit before finally folding her hands in front of her.

"Well, ma'am." She said. "I would never want someone questioning my loyalty. If... I need to disassociate myself with him to keep him from the match then..." Mercy lowered her head and pressed her hand against her breast. "I'l... I 'll make that sacrifice. I just..." Mercy said and lifted her head up. "I want you to keep him out of hentai matches." Mercy closed her eyes. "You understand the huge sacrifice I am making. I would like it in writing, please."

Melissa didn't expect Mercy to agree to the proposition, in fact she expected some kind of out burst hence she had answered for the pink haired woman. However, as Melissa collected up her gloves and started getting up when she said it...

Melissa paused in her tracks, a slight smile playing on the corner of her lips as she let herself glide back down into her seat.

"Well then... it seems I may have underestimated the bind that holds you to him and your intelligence Ms. Wrenn." The idea of breaking up with your boyfriend to avoid having your boyfriend fucked in public seemed to conflict with goals. Unless Mercy cared for Clyde so much that she was willing to give him up to save him... Or she actually didn't want to be with him and so he was easy to give up...

"You may or may not think it, but I feel this is the best thing for you.."

Mercy lifted her head with the slightest bit of smugness and smiled at Melissa. Of course the woman underestimated her. Everyone did. Her father's words rung true in her head. "Take Advantage of people stupider than you and make people smarter think you're stupider until you can take advantage of them too." Mercy mused, thinking about it, how he could have said it with more eloquence but it stuck regardless.

Mercy took a sip from her cup. Now that it was cooled a bit, she could take a real drink from it and she finished it off. With a satisfying sigh, she looked up at Melissa. "I think so as well. It will be tough, but it will be for the best." She said. "Thank you for the time, ma'am." She said and scooted tot he edge of the seat. "Now I have heavy preparations to take care of so, I'll take me leave. Please send the documents at your earliest convenience. I'll put pen to paper after I've sorted things out with Clyde." Mercy did her best to deeply frown. It would be tough for her a little bit but she had an idea to live up to her end of the deal and still keep Clyde on a leash. She might have actually come out of this deal in the most perfect way possible. She'd have to send some flowers to Melissa if this worked out to thank her for her generosity.

Mercy bowed politely once she was standing and turned to leave the cafe.

"Splendid.." Melissa said with a slight smile of satisfaction "Perhaps we'll be speaking again soon deary." Mercy left Melissa to it, she slipped her long gloves over her hands and stretched them up her arms to the elbows as the waitress brought Melissa's coat to her. The GM of Tension didn't know if Mercy thought she had pulled a fast one on her or not, but the meeting had ended with an unexpected mutual understanding... That was as long as Mercy wasn't planning to fake the break up and date Clyde in secret. Melissa wanted to give her enough credit that she wouldn't be stupid enough to risk try something like that with the repercussions that might occur
