AV 13 Main Event: (C)Angel Vs. (C)Adrian "Unification" Match

As Adrian dropped to the mat, Angel's face twisted up in uncomfortable pain. Hauling Adrian off her feet like that had taken more than a fair bit of effort on her part, and she was feeling the effects of it already. The pain in her back was only growing deeper. It hurt, it hurt bad, but she had to keep going.

She turned slowly to face Adrian, taking a step back from her foe. No more serious lifting, she decided. Not for the moment, anyway. "Get the hell up!" she screamed at Adrian, raising a boot them stomping it hard into the mat, trying to catch Adrian's attention. She decided right there to give her a taste of her own medicine...or rather, a taste of the Latina's medicine. Twice this match Adrian had tried to nail Angel with a superkick, and Angel had finally decided to pay her back and show her just what a real superkick was like.

She took another step back, stomping the mat again as she went. "On your feet, chica!" she screeched, waiting for Adrian to try and rise. All she needed was for the former cosplayer to get back on her feet, and that's when she would strike.

"Nghhh..." Adrian groaned, her nose pressed up against the mat as she tried to get some sense into what just happened. Stupid Pentakill... never works she thought to herself, it was a move she had adopted while she was still having her on and off feuding with Taylor under the name "Wind Breaker," a stab at her role in her tag team at the time, but after about one and a half years, a name change and various attempts, she still hadn't managed to pull it off with the big set up. While it was every bit as potent as her Bankai it really didn't play to her strength and left her in situations like this. Now it was her turn to try and stand up, unaware that Angel was tuning up the band for her own big Superkick.

"My everything..." she grumbled, up to one knee and starting to get a better idea of what was going on. Was Angel... stomping the ground? she wouldn't... Adrian initialy thought, was Angel going to use her own stunt against the former cosplayer? That was answered, when she got glimpse of the champion side stepping towards her She would!

Ducking down at the last second, the kick sailed overhead while Adrian stumbled underneath, not the most dignified way out but a legitimate way out none the less. But if Angel still had energy for that, then Adrian might still be in trouble.

Angel waited for Adrian to rise...she waited...and waited...and then, when the cosplayer finally got bad up, Angel's leg came flying into the air, snapping straight towards Adrian with her superkick, The Angel's Kiss. She was confident that when the attack landed, that Adrian would be out, and that the match would then truly be her's.

But it was not to be. Angel's leg snapped up, and as it did, Adrian ducked down. Angel hadn't even considered the possibility that her attack would miss. As her leg came back down, her face twisted around, first in confusion, then in annoyance, then in anger. Adrian just kept proving how slippery she could be, and she was getting more and more under Angel's skin with every passing second.

"Have it your way then, chica!" She snarled out at her most hated foe, stepping towards her once she had found her footing again. She moved in on Adrian, and would lash out with her hands, trying to grab Adrian by the hair, simply so that she could throw her back down to the mat by it. Screw the fancy finish. She would just beat the shit out of Adrian with her fists again if she really had to!

Adrian yelped as the Latina grabbed her by the hair, yanking her right back down to the mat and spiking the back of her head on the ring painfully. IT seemed that both competitors were getting tired of not being able to hit a single finishing move and as such seemed to switch to more... old fashioned tactics. The champion was ready to shift this into a brawl and Adrian wasn't going to stay down without swinging, trying to jab a few kicks at Angel's shins as the former cosplayer rolled around, trying to get back to her feet while sparing a hand to flip off the increasingly frustrated Latina.

Angel wanted a fight? Adrian wasn't going to back down at this stage. She was going to bite, scratch and claw for everything she could get... within reason, she wasn't going to pull out the mist or loaded elbow pad, she didn't need it to pound Angel into the dirt.

Angel tried to shuffle back and forth, trying to avoid Adrian's kicks as the cosplayer lashed out at her with her legs. She couldn't get close to Adrian while she was rolling around, striking out at her like that. She wasn't going to let her get off easy though. Her thoughts were filled with nothing but anger, hate, distaste for Adrian. All she really wanted was punish Adrian for everything she had done, and she wasn't going to let a few desperate kicks stop her from that.

She shuffled back from Adrian, actually acting as if she would let the cosplayer get back up. As soon as Adrian tried though, the Latina lunged back in towards her, letting one of her own legs swing in a swift arc towards the side of Adrian's head, hoping to nail her and send her right back down with one of her infamous, powerful kicks.

Adrian's wild shots had managed to keep Angel from diving back on top of her, so that was something to be sure off, Angel wasn't desperate to the point of just trying to tank the kicks to pound away, but then again Angel was never one for a Ground-and-pound style, preferring submissions to strikes when her victim was on the floor, and that wouldn't be as effective way to get a win out from Adrian when she still had to climb a ladder afterwards to win. The brief reprieve however, did allow Adrian to roll onto her knees, and quickly rise back to her feet...

CRACK

Angel's boot smashed into the side of her head, twisting the neck to look away with the force as Adrian slumped back down, first onto her knees and then onto the mat, looking as though she had been knocked out cold by Angel's roundhouse kick

The feeling of Angel's boot smashing into Adrian's head was downright heavenly for the Latina. It felt good, and after the impact of her kick, she finally felt like she might be able to gain some ground in this fight.

Of course, as much as Angel wanting to keep beating and kicking the shit out of Adrian, she had more important things to do. With Adrian down, now was the perfect chance to make her way to the hanging titles again. She turned towards the fallen ladder and hurried towards it, going to lean down to lift it up again. Then, she started to set it back up in the center of the ring, intent on beginning the long climb upwards once she had it set up.

Adrian blinked her eyes open as she laid on the mat, feeling something disgustingly wet against her face. Wow... she thought dimly, that kick had really knocked her the fuck out if she'd been drooling on the mat. Angel was no doubt setting herself up to win and the former cosplayer was in no shape to stop her right now, rolling under the bottom rope to hang on the apron while she tried to make sense of what was going on, the roar of cheers as Angel began to ascend just giving her a headache.

If she tried to stop the Latina now, she'd more than likely just get kicked down while her head was still spinning and Angel was on an adrenaline kick, but if she took her time to recover properly before intervening she'd just gift wrap the championship away and look like an even bigger chump than Angel thought she already was. So she couldn't charge in, but couldn't afford to hang back...

If this works, I'm... I'll... do something afterwards... she thought, pulling herself back to her feet thanks to the ropes and circled the outside, trying to draw as little attention to herself as possible before she was facing the ladder side on from the sides as Angel climbed. This was going to hurt, but it was going to be impressive if nothing else. One she thought, gripping the top rope and trying to shut out all her body's various protests to this course of action. Two... she counted, crouching down as she watched Angel ascend to the point where she could feasibly start reaching for the belts. THREE!!

Springing up to the top rope, the former cosplayer launched herself as high and as far as she could go, sending her own body flying at the ladder, before tucking herself in to blast both the Ladder and Angel with a big missile dropkick. Hopefully with enough force to knock the ladder over if not Angel.

Angel paid Adrian no mind as she set up the land, willing herself to begin the long climb to the top. She started to climb up, her body aching with each shaky step she took upwards. She could practically taste her victory. Adrian was down, she looked practically dead, and this was Angel's perfect chance to win this.

She reached the top of the ladder, not realizing that Adrian was moving, what she was doing. Her eyes were raised upwards, her vision locked fully on the hanging titles above her. Letting go of the ladder, she reached up with both hands, stretching upwards to grab the closest title. Victory was her's, dammit. Just a few more precious seconds...

Precious seconds that she wasn't going to get. Before her hands could close on the title, Adrian suddenly came flying out of nowhere. The Latina didn't even realize what had just happened as Adrian flew into her and the ladder, sending them both tipping over, dropping to the mat. The world went blank in Angel's vision for a brief moment, and the next thing she knew she was lying on her side on the mat, lying beside of the ladder. She let out a shriek as she hit the mat, a shout full of anger and fury and pain and all of her pent up frustrations. She was reeling now, writhing in pain again, pissed that victory had been stolen from her once more. Her body was shaking in pain, and despite herself and her position, Angel couldn't stop a single tear of anger and disappointment from rolling down the side of her cheek.

Just how much can she take?! The thoughts flew through Angel's mind as she lied there, trying to find the strength to turn over and get back up again. She knew she wasn't going to be able to do it yet though. She was going to require more time yet again to gather her energy and get back up to her feet.

Adrian's landing was not a soft one. Falling in among the debris of her actions, and scraping her thigh against the metal of the ladder, ripping her tights and giving her a nasty cut on the thigh. The stinging pain being one of the few things keeping her awake at this late stage of the game. But with Angel nearly obliterated by her daredevil move she couldn't help but let out a hoarse laugh as she pulled herself out of the wreckage. "Holy shit!" She breathed, "I cannot believe that fucking worked! Ha!" she patted herself on the back before spinning out and falling back down, staring up into the rafters, the gold shining down on her face. "Just a little longer." the former cosplayer told herself as she tried to stand back up, wincing at the pain all over her body.

The moment was hers as she braced herself against the ropes, the cosplayer's cut leg really did not want to do anything but throb in pain, making walking a chore to do, just to get to the ladder and drag it away from it's resting place, and attempt once more to set it up dead centre of the ring, the title belts will soon both have the name plate reading "Adrian Kytes". Maybe she should wear them both... no, that'd be too tacky.
