The Air Raid Siren vs. Songbird

After rubbing her face a little, Songbird would look to Gemma and say, "Well, you should've raised your hand for me to stop. Then I would've given you a chance to speak. So, you're not sorry for being a potty mouth?" She would get back in her fighting stance and begin to get closer to Gemma.

Gemma's face widened into an expression of shock when she realized that Songbird had been so angry about her being a 'potty mouth.' Gemma's mouth widened a bit, and her eyebrows raised, as she struggled to suppress a laugh at being scolded for her language. She'd simply never heard of such a thing, let alone during an actual match. However, Gemma's face betrayed a moment of regret; she actually felt badly about upsetting Songbird, for as much as that surprised her.

When Gemma saw Songbird closing in on her, she snapped back to attention. "No, I suppose I'm not sorry, then," Gemma smirked. "I guess you're not going to be taking me to school after all, then!" As Songbird moved towards Gemma, she responded by placing her weight on her back foot, moving forward a bit herself, and delivering a strong snap-kick to Songbird's thigh. She was going all out with this, and wether or not this kick connected, Gemma had already decided to follow through with numerous kicks after the first. That is, as long as nothing stopped her ...

"You sure?" Songbird asked coming closer. "In case you haven't noticed, you're in school already...the School of Hard Knocks! And this is your exam to see if you can shine!" When Gemma came with a kick to the thigh, Songbird attempted to deflect it with her own targeted leg and try to block the other kicks heading her way. A few of those kicks will definitely sting her, but she had to do her best to keep up. "And remember, no crybabies even after spanking!"

Gemma found herself smiling widely, getting more enthusiastic now that she was back on her feet. "I'm going to remember that comment, when I'm making you tap out, tonight!"

Still stinging from the humiliation of getting a mid-match spanking, Gemma nonetheless was putting her full strength behind each of her kicks. She was giving it her all, and hoping that bravado would cover up how nervous she was that Songbird was blocking her. After the fourth such kick, Gemma quickly shifted on her feet and attempted a low kick from the other side. She hoped the switch would be enough to trick Songbird and land a blow to her knee, but she also realized that shifting her balance and momentum so quickly would upset her balance and put her in a rather precarious spot, for a moment.

Gemma could only hope she was the only one that realized that, as she shifted on her heel and swung hard for Songbird's knee.

After the fourth kick, Songbird was caught with surprise when Gemma switched gears and aimed a low kick to the knee. "AAGH!" Songbird cried out in reaction as she was starting to lean on that targeted side. In turn, she tried to punch at Gemma to keep her away as she wanted to rub her knee a little before getting back to the fight.

The pressure of performing under scrutiny was getting to Gemma again, as she tried to keep herself upright while unloading the most punishing kicks she could into Songbird. With that kind of force and effort, the sudden shift in balance had put Gemma off-center despite her best efforts, but she felt an immediate rush of gratification as her risky final kick connected solidly with its target. She even let out a small laugh, more out of relief than anything else, as she tried to prep for a follow-up move.

Unfortunately, the blow hadn't quite debilitated her opponent the way Gemma had hoped it would. Hearing Songbird cry out in pain, Gemma moved forward again to mount a further offense, and was caught completely off-guard as her opponent's fist struck out in retaliation. She was even more off-guard by that shot blindly connecting with the side of her chest. A palpable slapping sound echoed through the ring as Songbird's fist, by sheer luck, struck the side of Gemma's soft breast. Her eyes widening in shock and incredible pain, Gemma stumbled back against the ropes. A high-pitched whine escaping from between her teeth, Gemma was reduced for the moment to leaning against the ring ropes and trying to massage the pain out of her aching breast. Out of sheer bad luck, she was rendered completely helpless for the moment, while Songbird would have all the time she needed to catch her breath and mount a counterattack.

Songbird had no idea she would hit Gemma's breast when really she was only aiming for the face. But at least she gained some time to recover and breathe a little. This match was becoming quite tense as both girls were trying to gain the upper hand over the other. Songbird rubbed her knee a little more as she looked up to see Gemma just rubbing her breast against the ropes. That punch must have done some good damage.

Songbird would try to get up after a little more rubbing so she can reach Gemma again. If she can do this, she would grab her and run to jump and slam Gemma body first on the mat.

Gemma hadn't even begun to recover from the accidental strike against her, when she could see Songbird begin to regroup. Gemma's face flushed red as she tried to push the pain out of her mind and ready to defend herself, but it just wasn't happening. It was incredibly bad luck that put her in this position, and apparently that bad luck wasn't done punishing her just yet.

Still trying to massage hers breast and leaning against the ropes for support, Gemma was completely unable to mount a defense as Songbird got up and made her way towards her. "N-no, wait! Wait!" Gemma exclaimed worriedly, as Songbird grabbed her forcefully. "Dammit, no!" she protested, to no avail, before her body was slammed hard into the mat. Pain shot through the rest of the young grappler's body now as she writhed at Songbird's feet, trying desperately to recover. Gemma gritted her teeth and tried to get her breathing under control to master her panic, but that was easier said than done considering the pain she was in. For the moment, she was still vulnerable to whatever offense Songbird might try to lay on her ...

As Sonbird managed to get Gemma on the mat, she would walk around her and say, "So far, the only thing that bothers me about this match is that you seem persistent in sticking to kicks only." She stopped at Gemma's feet before adding, "Perhaps I should do something to change that." With that, she would attempt to grab Gemma's legs and get them under her armpits.

If this worked, Songbird would sit on the Siren's back and pull at her legs for a Boston crab.

Gemma took a moment to regroup on the mat, Songbird standing over her, attempting to regain some of her strength. Gemma had gone from feeling in control of the match to being completely vulnerable, and she was feeling the burning humiliation of that. She could barely register Songbird's words as the girl moved around her; however, Gemma snapped to attention the moment she felt Songbird's arms wrapping around her legs.

Gemma could vaguely make out Songbird's comments in spite of the ringing in her ears, From that and the position she found herself in, Gemma realized rather quickly what was coming next, and how dangerous a position she was in. If Songbird was able to roll Gemma onto her already aching chest and lock in a boston crab, the match would be finished. And Gemma couldn't allow such a humiliating end to her debut in AFW. So, for all her worth, Gemma applied her skill and effor to keeping her shoulders planted on the mat. If she could do that, Songbird wouldn't be able to turn her body into the dreaded submission hold. The longer Gemma was able to keep this defense up, she would attempt to wrap her arms around Songbird's knees. If she ever got a good grip, Gemma would try to reverse the position and roll Songbird up into a pin. Assuming, of course, that she was even able to get a firm grip on her opponent.
