Siren's movie talk 2013~has the game changed?
Whether its drama, action, teen flicks, animation or big budget blockbusters, does something feel different about the Summer movie rush so far? has Hollywood finally ran out of steam?
Any faves?
Recommendations?
Or just your view on the movie industry this year?~
lets here it from you~ :3

Movies don't just come from Hollywood. More so now than before, too.

Re: Siren's movie talk 2013~has the game changed?
Thus far my summer movies have consisted of Star Trek: Into Darkness, World War Z, and Man of Steel
I always tend to find everybody to be overly critical of movies because they go into the movie with a set expectation of what is supposed to happen or that they will be thrilled/disappointed. So I tend not to listen to them before seeing a movie. Into Darkness and Man of Steel both were not as terrible as people made them out to be, but they didn't blow me away. Am I upset that I sat through them? No. Do I feel like I would have paid what I did to go see them in retrospect? No. To be completely honest (and I know Into Darkness could be argued to not be a summer flick) I feel like this summer's set of movies is indeed underwhelming in quality. A lot of the comic book/series reboot-type movies, which I qualify both of those as, rely too much on dropping in bits and pieces from their old selves while throwing in all the special effects that they can get their hands on. I never really cared much for Star Trek, but this and the 2009 Star Trek movies were interesting and relatively entertaining to me because I love Sci-fi. I HATE superman as a hero because I find him to be completely unrelatable due to his practical inability to die or be hurt. I love superheros, but Superman is often times just too "super". Not to mention that the laser and x-ray vision just pisses me off in terms of how vision works. YOU DON'T FUCKING EMIT EM WAVES FROM YOUR EYES!!!!!
Now that that's out of the way...
World War Z had me involved in the movie. I love that in a movie. When I say involved, I mean to say that it was one of those where you get absorbed into what is going on in the movie. You're trying to figure out what's going to happen and how. When you know the character is about piss off some dormant zombies, all you're thinking about is "You fucking idiot!!! You've killed us all!!!!" I never read the book, but it has jumped up on my reading list because of this movie. I will probably be reading the book before the sequels of the movie come out. Would I pay to see the movie in theaters again just to see if I'm still sucked into it? Sure.
So..all of that being said...the summer movie season isn't completely dying, nor is Hollywood. There are still plenty of movies out there that prove that Hollywood still has quality. Over the past year I've only seen a handful of them that have been released. Some hits, some misses in the entertainment and quality value, but more were hits. Would I be upset if Hollywood dropped off of the face of the earth tomorrow? Nope. As long as they save Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence, and Emma Watson, then they can implode the industry for all I care. XD

Re: Siren's movie talk 2013~has the game changed?
Though they are made 2012-2013 Spring, V/H/S and V/H/S/2 are my most favorite horror-thriller movies
Re: Siren's movie talk 2013~has the game changed?
I fully agree go see Pacific Rim it has a decent storyline and good special effects. The superman movie I loved how they brought about how he was going through life like a ghost secretly helping people, but the writes had him kill at the end which was a cardnal rule along with he didn't meet Lois Lane till after he takes on the alias Clark Kent not before like the movie did. I think that Star trek movie was good because it showed how Kirk went from really cocky young officer who though he was invincible to lose the one people he cared about to knock him into focus. I loved how the Torpedo's special cargo was removed then rearmed just in the nick of time to be beamed aboard to blow up.
