Politics is fun! *sarcasm detected* Obama or Romney?

As for Obama's four years in office Tai is actually pretty close there. You have to look at what he came into as well, when he took office we were losing hundreds of thousands of jobs a month and had a total debt at that point of around 10 to 12 trillion dollars. Keep in mind Bush took over a massive surplus so he had to lose that too. Bush even passed the first stimulus that republicans put together and wouldn't you know it by the time Obama took office the lame duck republican congress had spent most of that money giving it to companies who then paid their ceo's huge bonuses and the like.

I don't comprehend people saying Obama has done nothing, thats so untrue as to be funny sometimes. Tai had the right idea when he said every time Obama came up with an idea, even when he came up with it with republican help, it was thrown out. While the democrats had the majority they did not have enough to stop a fillerbuster, a move that had rarely been sued before but republicans used it every chance they got to block a lot of his legislation. Still he made deals with them, like extending the bush tax cuts for the wealthy and money for their individual states, and got a bit passed that started growing jobs, saving the auto industry, overhauling our health care system, and other things.

Now republicans like to point out that job growth has slowed over the last couple years, but they seem to forget how bad the rest of the world has been doing lately which doesn't help our growth and they forgot that they took over the house of representatives at that time, letting them not only stop just about all of his new plans but also handicapping everything else to minimize their effect. Many republican leaders have been caught saying over and over they wanted Obama to fail and they made sure to do everything they could. Heck Romney was caught saying that about a week after Obama took office, calling his policies "failed policies" before any had been enacted.

The only reason the race is even close is because people are mostly voting along party lines or falling for lies from the republican party, I know a few die hard republicans and even worse non voters who believe the entire government is useless and in the hands of old families who secretly run everything, but just about all they bring up is actually republican policy or a lie. The country is just now starting to truly recover after eight years of republican policies, its slow yes but it was always going to be slow, and now I fear that we will go right back to the things that hurt us.

Now I'm a democrat, I'll admit it, but there are local republicans I will vote for because they have some moderate views as well, the republican party has outcast its moderates and embraced going as far right as possible on the national level. I can't take Romney seriously at all, I liked John McCain back before he ran for president since he had a lot of moderate views, but when he ran for president he went as far right as he could to try and win and has continued such since his party is now extremist, Romney is the same way to me. Looking at his job as governor it wasn't the best but it wasn't that bad either, that Romney might make a good president but not this one. First he is for something as a moderate, then against it as a far righter, then for it in the debates, then he lies about his tax plan, then he doesnt say anything about his tax plan, if anything people should be voting for Obama in droves since you actually know his plans.

Did Obama get everything done he said he would, no, but no one ever does. He did his best and fought for the middle class which History has shown is what makes jobs grow, I would much rather have someone who will work hard for me than someone like Romney who I feel would just be another Bush if not worse. Looking at history you see a president who came into similar conditions, FDR, and how did he grow the economy even before the war untied us, through stimulus and a public works program that got people to work, they then had money to spend, the business who sold them things got money and could hire more people, and everyone paid money in taxes in some form to help the government, the rich back then paid much much more than today in fact.

Obviously I can go on forever on this subject, and it must be clear I am voting for Obama. Is he perfect, no, but no president ever has been except maybe Teddy Roosevelt, that man was a gun toting bad ass after all who bitch slapped congress and broke up the giant mega monopolies that were strangling the economy so that only the rich few had power, honestly I wish we could have another Roosevelt type if one still exists but thats not an option in this election. So rather than not vote because I am discouraged by how the recovery is going I will vote to make sure it has a chance to recover at all.
