Yes, the scripted wrestling company completely ruined what scripted wrestling stands for.
Clearly you know more about pro wrestling then a company that's been in business for longer then you've been alive.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
As this answer was imported from the bitch bitch bitch thread, here we go^^
To be fair, WWE has made a step forward lately. It may be just temporary, but I watch more from RAW than before and skip just the usual crap(Tons of Funk, Cena Promo, AdR vs some random Jobber). I always prefered Smackdown and even NXT in the last years, mainly cause it's Cena free(guy's an exemplary **1/2 type of wrestler for me) and the programs were better(Christian vs. Orton, D-Bry Heavyweight Champion, Mark Henry).
Add that to the fact that Rock has obviously decided not to soil his legacy any further, then WWE is better than it was in 2012 or early 2013(Road to Rematchamania, wow that was bad even for WWE standards), which was just craptastic most of the time.

Was my thing.
You stole my gimmick!
THAT'S GIMMICK INFRINGEMENT!!!!!
(And if you don't recall which Raw that was from, then you can't call yourself a fan)

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
(Note: It's near 4 AM and I am tired, so this might come out sloppy)
Just watched my Smackdown recording.
While overall a good one, my favorite part by far had to be the Raw recap featuring the fight between CM Punk and Brock Lesnar.
Whichever guys worked together and made that video, they need to work together all the time. I used to love WWE's promo videos back around 2002-2004. They were edited fine, the action looked good, and the music they picked was always the best.
Then it started changing and for the longest time, the promo videos were just meh. Rarely they would be actually bad, but alot of the time they would just be too plain to bother with and usually easily skipped without a thought.
This one though? This one brought me back to 2002 all over again, and it was just such a nice feeling.
I can't wait for Brock/Punk. A match that's great on paper and could very easily be great in the ring. While the promo's between Punk and Heyman have been the best this year by far, another bit that really makes it worthwhile is that it could only really work this well because its Punk/Lesnar instead of anyone else.
If Cena was in that fight last monday, he'd hit some punches and a shoulder block to knock Lesnar out of the ring. If it was Daniel Bryan, he would counter Lesnar's moves into some tight submission hold to drive him off. Either story would work....but it wouldn't be as effective a storyline.
With Punk being the one to face Lesnar though, it works so well. Lesnar is a legit beast who can tear down and throw around just about anybody in his way, no matter what people think of him. The guy is just pure offensive rage that can plow through anyone. So when Punk faces him head on, he can't rely on a quick hold or a Cena-style shoulder block to get through Lesnar, but instead has to go right to him and hit him with everything he has and keep coming at him over and over.
We, as fans, can see this and realize that, at least storywise, Punk isn't going to be able to overpower or simply outwrestle Lesnar, but instead, at Summerslam, we realize that Punk is going to have to fight Lesnar with absolutely everything he has in him in order to take The Beast down and end him. Fans can see that, and more importantly, they can get behind it and get into the storyline in a way they simply weren't able to get into the Lesnar matches with Cena/Triple H.
It's the Hyena vs The Lion....to steal a Punk phrase from 2011.
At least, thats what I got from that seriously freaking awesome promo video.
I'm going to sleep now, as I've nodded off twice typing this

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Although I can nearly feel the raw energy radiating from Lesnar just from seeing him on screen and marked out when he returned, it makes me sad that he is nothing more than a special attraction. If he was on the shows at least a little bit more frequent for a real feud! Sure, Heyman helps, bit it's not quite the same. Still seems to be a very good match.
I am also unsure about DBry vs Cena. No way that Cena will submit, so I don't see Bryan wining without some screw finish again like in MITB 2011(yeah, I know that it was a clean 1 2 3, but come on...^^). Not exactly what I want to see, but I will have to settle with it.
Damien vs. Cody. Potential to be GOAT, although again the Face looks like the asshole while the heel is the sympathetic character.
Ziggler back to irrelevancy against Big E.
CHRISTIAN! Hope he saves us from AdR with a Ricardo screw Finish, let the man have a real title run please!^^
No opinion on Kane vs Wyatt. I ain't much into the Wyatt Char, but I like Kane.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Bray Wyatt does very interesting and entertaining promo's, and actually they get pretty damn good crowd reactions because of it....its just the wrestling that's the problem.
Who doesn't like Kane? Guy works just as hard now as he did 15 years ago and has never once been shown to be political or even cause issues backstage. Guy is a company man through and through.
I actually like the idea of a sympathetic heel character. Besides, it fits Cody's character. Why should his character suddenly change to be more sympathetic just because he lost MITB? It fits his character perfectly to be an asshole.
D-Bry vs Cena will be fun, and too be honest, I won't even mind D-Bry losing, or winning belt and losing to Cena. Sure, IWC morons will claim its a "burial", but lets be honest, the guy is getting an incredible push, he's done things that John Cena has been unable to do (Getting a win over Sheamus, getting a win over The Shield, cashing in MITB) and is going to headline the second biggest PPV of the year with the biggest star in WWE today for the WWE Title. There would honestly be no shame in his losing at Summer Slam, nor would it be a burial.

Which is kind of funny considering that he has very strong political views. He just knows to keep them separate from his wrestling career, as well as anything else that applies to his personal life. The dude's just straight up professional. And as much as it pains me to see his character get bitched out so often these days when he was billed as being a lot tougher during the attitude era, you also really have to respect that he's so willing to put over the younger guys. Him and Chris Jericho.

It's kind of the same thing with Dolph Ziggler right now, isn't it? Despite turning face, his character hasn't changed a lick. But I guess that's nothing all that uncommon. For as far back in wrestling as I can remember, there've been a lot of face turns where the only thing that changed about the wrestler's character is that they stopped insulting the fans for heel heat.

Totally! I wish more people would see it that way. I guess most people's fear is that Daniel Bryan will lose his momentum and eventually become irrelevant if he loses to Cena, but... that could very well happen if he wins the belt, couldn't it? The most important thing is that Bryan stays a fan favorite, which I'm sure he will as long as his match against Cena is good. I mean that's why I personally like him, because of his intensity in the ring.
Speaking of which, I'm sure this was already discussed, but since I wasn't a member of this forum at the time... How about that Bryan vs Cesaro match? Match of the year, or what?
