New wounds, old scars

Adrian Kytes and Rebecca Tomko were "escorted" to the medical bay after their first tag match in Japan. And what a disaster of a match it had been, the duo were battered, bruised, knocked out a couple of times and soundly defeated.

But it wasn't the fact it was a black stain on their record, their first loss for either of them in AFW, that hurt the most. What hurt the most for the 6'4" amazon wasn't that they'd lost, or the fact she was dropped on her head, but that she'd let Adrian down, she'd let her get hurt badly. She'd failed to protect her.

Rebecca felt that whatever anyone did to her, she would be fine. Even if she didn't get straight back up afterward to take another shot or dish one out, she'd get back up eventually. She could take on the world and still be fine the next day. Adrian, however: the smaller high-flyer wasn't nearly as durable as the amazon. It was Rebecca's role to take the worst of the offense, take whatever anyone threw at her so that Adrian didn't have to. And yet she still took it worse.

When the amazon woke to find Adrian out cold on a steel chair, she feared the worst, some serious damage cutting short a promising career. Damning her own inability to do anything as she sat down next to the unconscious cosplayer, glaring at every doctor and nurse who came past, this wasn't over. Those twins would pay tenfold for what transpired tonight.

Elsewhere from where the loosing team were licking their wounds the victorious team were doing similiar. Despite winning the match the Ancestors of Isis had gotten off no better than their opponants. In fact they had actually been worse off. "Hold still," Sha chided her sister, using a damp cloth to wipe off the green paint that her sister's face was still coated with.

"Ugh, I can't believe that little bitch did that to me!" Nha whined as the paint waas wiped off, her eyes still stinging from when it was sprayed there. "Wait till I get my hands on her..."

"Relax, we won," Sha responded, dampening the cloth again.

"Well, it doesn't feel like we did! Look what she did to you!" Nha cried, pointing at her sister's arm, which after a visit to the doctor was now in a sling.

Sha shrugged with her one good shoulder. "I've had worst."

"That;s not the point! Those bitches took things too far! Especially that little one! Oh, mark my words, we're gonna get those girls. Mark my fucking words...."

"Uh..." Adrian groaned, the world still looking hazy, no outlines just blurs of light and colour as she tried to work out just what had happened. The lights seemed to be a lot closer than where they were when she was passed out, and whatever she was laying on was a lot more comfy than a folded chair. Her back and her head still ached like anything though.

"Shh... don't push yourself." Rebecca insisted, well the blob of brown that sounded a lot like Rebecca did insisted to the cosplayer.

"You okay?"

"Why are you worrying about me? You're the one in the med bay bed." She said, trying to keep her voice low and stable, as though she was brushing it off like what happened to her was nothing.

"Huh... so I am? Doctors say anything?" Adrian asked, trying to be strong about the whole thing, she was gutted that she lost sure, but to end up like this... "maybe I should have just tapped when I had the chance..." She thought out loud.

"No!" Rebecca shouted, everything stopping to look at her, a glare sending most of them back to what they were originally doing as she turned back to comfort Adrian "No... I mean the doctors said you're going to be out for at least a week but it's recovery time, nothing permanent done and you did all you could. It's not your fault what happened in that ring."

"Well... I kind of did... do some stupid... stuff."

"Shh..." the amazon hushed, as though she was talking to a child "don't worry about it, I'll take care of everything."

"Take care?" Adrian asked, the phrase setting off alarm bells in her head, she had a good idea what 'take care' meant in this situation and she was against it. The match was over, both teams were hurting bad, some people more than others, but the last thing Adrian wanted was for this fire to get sparked up again "...Rebecca."

"Your safe, that's all that matters now." Were the last words Adrian heard before sleep claimed her again

After getting themselves cleaned up and mended Nha and Sha were now leaving the AFW complex, heading down the hall towards the exit. "Guess we should tell Sarah about this," Nha said idly as they walked along.

"Why?" Sha asked.

"What if she wants us to go beat someone up? We can't fight together with you in your condition."

Sha nodded in agreement. "Hadn't thought of that..."

"So I guess no Gatt Attack work for awhile," Nha sighed, crossing her arms and pouting. "Too bad. Those are great bonding experiences for the two of us." Sha smiled and couldn't hold back a chuckle.

Rebecca grunted as she smashed her head back against the wall, wincing as her head met the brick work, but she needed do something to release the frustration. Adrian was out for the third time in the night and the doctors insisted that she left them to their work while Adrian had an impromptau overnight stay in the building.

Grabbing a beer from somewhere... she couldn't remember where she had picked it up, but it didn't matter. All she needed right now was to vent her frustrations, be it by getting some revenge, even though she knew Adrian wasn't too keen on the idea but they deserved it in the amazon's mind, but since the twins were nowhere to be found she had to settle for taking out her frustrations on herself via drinking herself half-blind.

She was going to need a lot more than one beer for this.

Nha and Sha were just about to leave the AFW complex when they heard the sound of forehead meeting brickwall, and both of them looked down the hall to see one of the sources of their grievances, Rebecca, bashing her head against the wall. "Oh great," Nha grumbled, narrowing her eyes.

"What should we do?" Sha asked. The look on her face showed that a fractured arm wasn't about to stop her from confronting the woman.

Nha though for a moment, then shook her head. "Forget her. She's just a stupid gorilla. And we're in no condition to face her." Sha was reluctant, but she nodded none the less, and both of them would continue doown the hall, hoping the amazon wouldn't spot them.

finishing the last of her beer the amazon turned her back to the wall, eyes closed as she leaned back trying to think of what to do to make amends for her failings as her friend and protector only for a slight mumbling to answer part of that for her.

Giving a quick look to find who was talking she spotted the two causes of her problems tonight trying to leave the building. Not if she had any say in it. Putting herself in between the twins and the exit, she called out to them "Hey, where do you think you're going?" She asked, beer bottle in hand.

Unfortunately for Nha and Sha it seemed like lady luck wasn't smiling down on them that night. Not for the first time bith of them found the mighty Rebecca standing before them, only this time she was standing between them and the exit. Sha narrowed her eyes hatefully, about to step forward and give the woman another lesson in pain when Nha out a hand on her shoulder.

"Get out of our way," Nha ordered the amazon, her eyes narrowing dangerously on her. "Haven't you and that little bitch done enough for one night?"

Rebecca looked down at the two, the Red head still seemed eager to throw down with the amazon again. Although... when did she get the sling? she thought to herself.

"My friend," She growled, correcting Nha "is lying in the med bay, out cold, because of what you two did tonight." she said through gritted teeth, thinking that they were trying to play the victims here, at least they could both walk out of the building. "You're still standing. That doesn't seem like enough to me."

"Your friend," Nha growled back, her fist clenching and barely keeping nack her anger. "Had it coming. ANd if you ask me, she got off pretty easy. Maybe I'll spray some paint her eyes and see how she likes it. Or maybe we can fracture a few of her bones as well." Nha and Sha weren't exactly the kindest of people, but when it came to their matches they at least didn't resort to tricks and weapons to win.

"If your frien needs those little props of hers to win her matches, that's her problem, but don't come crying to us when someone doesn't exactly take kindly to it." Nha would then step up Rebecca, and despite the height difference, growled up at her, "Now get the fuck out of our way or you're gonna get hurt."
